Arguably the darkest Element Animation song, possibly Minecraft song as a whole. I couldn't help but feel terrified once the Librarian figured it out and was practically being drowned out by everyone singing as he panicked and "Santa" got farther and farther away until it was too late.
Love the fact that you used air quotes, which implies that you think the "get in the bag" guy has learned magic and stole the kids
@@ready0008 It probably really is him!! This is probably a prequel to "Your Door was Locked" which is why you can see him in the pit of death later on. I mean, the GITB Guy always asked you to go into the bag and if you refused he just knocked you out manually and stuffed you in there. So of course he'd do it again but with more flair once he learnt magic
Does that mean he could be the first person to escape the pit of death?
The way Santa pushes the librarian back and they get drowned by the crowd is so terrifying??? Like it sent asunder down mybacl
Magnus Archives vibes (probably the spiral)
The Villagers may be focused on trivial things, like Children being kidnapped by a shirtless man singing about his great big sack, but the real important thing about this video is - the voxel effect on the bag was so trippy, I loved that!

I think it is krampes Santa brother take the bad kids away
Yeah, when I saw the title, I instantly knew the answer and I was right.
I dont think that Krampus is in relationship with Santa(brother, cousin etc.)
Get in the bag is a great running gag.
Love how Santa tells a villager to not ask about his sack and does nothing when a entire crowd does it.
I think its because the rest of the villagers are in a sort of trance-like state, if you watch the beginning scene closely you'll notice Santa bumps into the librarian causing him to "snap back to reality" in a way. It appears that the Trance can be broken if an outside force not under the trance makes contact with the villager, for example the villager that Santa blew glitter onto seemed to be very confused and not going with the crowd. Another smaller example is when Santa start's his epic Sax solo(Which I honestly love) and throws his robes onto a villager, notice how for a moment the villager keeps jumping in motion with the rest but then all of a sudden starts struggling to get it off. Santa knows that the librarian and glitter villager are not in the trance so he does his best to keep them at bay to ensure they don't ruin his plan i.e pushing them aside and going back to the glitter villager to get him again

Thats a nice detail! I love you guys! You make the funniest animations! And songs I guess!
I love how you could’ve chose any villager to use the spyglass, and you chose the one with an eyepatch. Not sure if this is a funny joke or animation mistake, but it looks like that villager is also looking out the spyglass out of the eyepatched eye Edit: spelling
It's even funnier when you listen to the lyrics. "Do my eyes deceive me", like, he's only got a single eye.

Did you know that the story this song is based on, the Pied Piper, is actually buried in truth? The tale goes that in 1284, a piper was hired to get rid of rats in the German town of Hamlin. But because he did the job so easily, the villagers refused to pay him the promised amount. So on 26th June 1284, the angered piper led their children away with his pipe-playing, just as he had led the rats to their deaths in the very same way.

They struggle and scream desperately, calling out to their parents, but their parents' very singing makes it so nobody can hear them. Despite all the happy and cheerful music, this is actually one of the most terrifying things a kid can experience.

There's a reason Mojang themselves asked Element to do ads for the villager update. It's because they are the undisputed kings of making the best Minecraft villager content.
villagers are the best
The intelligence of the villagers and their stupid lowing at the machines is not at all what we see in Element. So before the ideal update, Mojang is not even started walking.

Errors 0:12 Sign being placed on a path block. Also doesn't look centered on the block and is facing the opposite direction of the villager. 0:15 Sheep is just static until it slightly move its head. 0:48 Santa's head is almost detached from his body. 1:15 Villager behind the presents. Static. Also, the wrapping tape on those 2 background presents aren't as out-dented as the 2 in front. 1:19 Both villagers have squinted eyes. 1:27 Only the 2 unemployed villagers get a hat. 1:35 Left side of the face has a different color scheme. Like a cold. 2:02 Wolf's face was darker. 2:27 Brighter light source on the left.
Not quite. 0:15 This is because the sheep is watching the one villager as it sits up 0:48 It's shown throughout the sax solo, especially at 2:26, that it's definitely normal for body parts to be completely separated, let alone almost. Maybe it's a normal villager thing, maybe it's just Santa's magic, but either way, it is not unreasonable for them to make that artistic choice, since it is consistent. 1:15 You're right that the villager behind the tree doesn't move, but I'm not sure it needs to. It's peeking from behind the trees, carefully watching so it can abduct the children, so any movement that made sense would be so subtle we wouldn't be able to see it, and for a detail that's meant to not be noticed right away, it might not have been worth the effort, meaning this very well could have been intentional and therefore not an error. Also, the ribbons don't protrude from the foremost presents either. Only one part does, and that's because it's a retextured Minecraft chest like you might find in the game itself around Christmas time due to a holiday resource pack. We can safely assume that this single protrusion is simply facing a different direction. 1:19 They start with open eyes and squint them from excitement. I think these are supposed to be the villagers that say "OoooooooOOoh!" 1:27 I don't see why only two villagers getting hats is an error, but neither are unemployed. The leftmost one seems to be a tool smith, and the rightmost a leatherworker. You can see these same two villagers in more detail after the song ends and Santa disappears, and they are the only ones with hats, though even if they weren't, you could argue that more villagers received them off screen, hence it would not be a continuity error, either. 1:35 Technically the villager's right side, but yes, from our perspective, the left side, is not discoloured in its entirety, only at the eye. This is for the same reason that the eye is squinted: it's irritated from Santa blowing glitter in it at 0:45. It's not an error, but a really nice, minute detail. 2:02 The darkness is not abnormal, as it is simply a shadow. It seems like there perhaps could be in error in the way it momentarily exits the shadow, but it could very possibly be no more than the fact that the villager leans forward while the wolf tilts its head down that causes the shadow to do this, which would mean it's not an error, just something that feels a little odd at first glance. 2:27 That light source is meant to be brighter. The contrast adds more depth to the scene and makes it prettier. This is one of the most common techniques in all cinematic productions, whether animated or live action, it's just a lot more apparent when it's applied to human faces, which catch the light in a much more meaningful way than a flat face with no depth aside from the nose. It's called the three-point lighting system, and features one bright light (called the key light) on one side of the face, a dimmer light (called the fill light) on the other side of the face to fill in the parts of the face that aren't hit with the key light, and one more light (called the hair/back light) behind the subject to illuminate the back of the head in a way that creates a nice contrast with the background. The darker side (the side with the fill light) is usually, though not always, the side that the camera is pointed at, since that's where the contrast is most apparent. I mean absolutely no disrespect by this. It's awesome that you noticed all of those little details! One you didn't notice is that at 1:37, two villagers in the background don't move at all. It is really great that you noticed so many things about this video, just next time, instead of assuming they're errors, ask yourself why it may have been intentional. If you let yourself be curious, you can appreciate the creators' passion, creativity, and effort all the more, and even learn a lot of cool things along the way! Though if it doesn't seem like there isn't a good reason (like with the sign you mentioned at 0:12), then I'm sure the Element Animation team really appreciates your pointing them out, that way they can learn from those mistakes even if they hadn't noticed them at first. Again, great job noticing all of that! And happy summer, since you're watching in the middle of July, you absolute legend! :D
Also, at 0:52, the two leftmost villagers suddenly lighten in the middle of the shot, and at 2:40, the sack animation jumps a few frames, as if it was looped without the animation being fit for such a loop.
They’re villagers, they don’t have time care for the laws of physics especially when they have Christmas hats
