The dichotomy of Ron Swanson is amazing. He is one of the manliest men in existence, and yet he has the giggle of a five year old girl.
Well… the man loves riddles.
The best part is that that is his real laugh.
Everyman has that one thing that brings out their little girl 🥹
Actually little girls have the giggle of him.
What man doesn't love a challenge? He would defeat the Riddler without Batman. It is the duel between Riddler and Riddlee in a test of wits, a competition of brains, and the tenacity of the human spirit.
I always find it funny how he just rambles on and on once he realizes he has said too much about burying the gold 😂😂
The thing is if he just stopped at “I have since moved it”, it would’ve been better because then people would just think it’s not there and move on
What gold?
Or-

Ron chasing clues with childlike abandon and glee fills me with more joy that I would have expected.
His giggle in the bar lightened my charred soul
Ambition*
Is his true default state
same here
If Ron decided to be a detective, Pawnee would have the lowest unsolved crimes rate in the country.
i'd like to think he'd let some of them go because he wouldn't care about the crime just solving the mysteries lol.
But Democrats would let them go...
@@bradbutcher3984 Republican or Democrat, there is no good side. Like two people playing chess with only the King pieces, nobody wins. We're are just chasing each other around the board in an endless stalemate.
@@bradbutcher3984 why on earth do people like you have to make this political
@@wise1202 finally somebody gets it!
I would have loved to see Leslie throw Ron a treasure hunt for his Birthday.
I think the trip to Scotland was supposed to be the riddle or something?
@@Fonduede the scavenger hunt that proved he could love Europe if only he would let Leslie show him the parts only she knew he would enjoy. And boy was she right.
@@mzmendy spot on!
@@Fonduede i£i£8i8i8i8i8ii88i8ii8
she literally sent him on a treasure hunt around the UK where he ended up in scotland and lead to him finding literal alchemized liquid gold and made this beast of a man cry tears.
Andy and April are like the kids ron never had
Except that he had a kid. 😂 But yes, I agree.
One day, one of Andy and April’s children will decipher the symbols on Ron’s will, Ron will witness it, stare at the child and say “so it’s you.”
Kids that married each other? 🤨
Andy needs a ton of manning up to own the Swanson name. Plus he has no ambition.
@@lyingcat9022 Andy is obviously a son in law 😔😔😔
Honestly Ron Swanson is my favorite character in Parks and Rec, every time he's on screen he owns the show
He's 100% my favorite character
Ron Swanson is everyone's favorite character. And if some person by chance doesn't have him as their favorite character, that person is WRONG.
Wait you're telling me he's not like one of the main characters you see every episode? What the hell else do they show if its not him?
Nick Offerman is like that in real life, he's not acting.
there are other people in this show?
"woof woof ... bark" is one of my favorite lines from the whole series. her delivery is perfect
Lol
He was so adorable asking Lesley for a scavenger hunt for his birthday
He just couldn't risk the possibility that she might misunderstand his "hint". A riddle scavenger hunt is too precious.
The clue attached to Ron’s shoe with a piece of gum always cracks me up.
"that woman is good."
"I am the one who succumbs" cracks me up 😂
When he said “Gentleman” to the guys at the bar was the best one. Man is John Wick of scavenger hunts 😂
Ron being VERY attractive to the Twinks at the Gay Bar is incredible. And True to life
the perfect bear
i love how Ron had a bugout bag ready to go incase there was a scavenger hunt to solve.
Imagine a gritty, serious show with Ron Swanson himself being a brilliant detective. That could be good
He already has an alter ego Duke Silver
The only problem is that it would only be 5 minutes long he is so good at riddles xD
griddy
Him with his new partner called Dwight Schrute and together they would solve stuff. I'd pay to see that.
This show only works with the Counterpoint of all the frivolous absurd morons that surround him. Without them to give him a contrast it wouldn't be as effective a character
What I love is that on front of Ben and anyone else he acts like he hates riddles while still helping tremendously, meanwhile in front of April and Andy he doesn't hide his passion for riddle hunts. They really are just his adopted kids.
Ben: "How do you know what a cryptex is?" Andy: "I know what things are" Me when I use a uncommon word with literally anyone. 😂
Andy grabbing it away from him like he's a five year old lmao
Haha! We're smarter than people!
An* uncommon
*Litchrally
My friend got Tanghulu from a food festival and ask our group to guess what it was nd I said; "Strawberry Tanghulu, you got that from the stand representing Northern China." and one of my friends said "This is why you confuse me. How do you know these things?!"
His giggle is a gift from the fabric of reality.
Ron running with his backpack always makes me laugh. I think he runs like that because of the 9 toes
He has the toes he has.
"Ron, you're a genius" His nod of approval after that line is so good.
The only time ron and Leslie seem most like siblings is when Ron's doing this😆
The only time they seem most like siblings....uhm ok
They seem like siblings 100 percent of the time haha
seeing ron this giddy and happy is honestly the most wholesome thing ever
5:28 "gentlemen." gets me every time XD he's like yes I am aware I am an incredibly attractive man, thank you for noticing XDDD
Or you know, hes just cordial.
@@oz_jones Attractive people can have manners, too.
@@oz_jones this is how I read it too. Ron is above being a homophobe or a homophile so his own attractiveness wouldn’t even have been a thought…he’s just Ron and they were just gentlemen.
@@I000II0I0IRon is a prolific libertarian, he just want to let people be and do what they want
I love Ben looking at the camera. I can't tell if he was freaked out at Ron immediately figuring out the puzzle, or Leslie's horrifying dedication, and it's perfect.
Probably both
"Any five letter word that has something to do with our third date." Third.
Dammit. 🏆
Ron, is that you?
It's SMASH. Hence how they open it, and it's just another word for everyone's first guess 😏
@@JonAddisonFilms That just occurred to me as well
F***s
Ron's way of helping is something i like about him.
April's explanation of why the tree reminds her of Ron is amazing. Not just for the 'strong and quiet' reasons, but also that Ron loves woodworking and has a respect for trees that provide good lumber (see also his story about the "crib tree"
"Then it was just a matter of accessing my mental sextant" Ron could navigate the seas with no compass or sextant, he just needs to use the power of his brain.
stars would also help
And a puzzle. Show idea: Ron Swanson is stuck at sea with one of his handcrafted ships but has an emergency riddle box pointing him to shore.
i take it you have seen him in his new show The Great North??
I absolutely love the character Ron Swanson. Nick Offerman did such a great job, so talented.
I love that Ron has a scavenger hunt bugout bag just in his office
"it's whipped cream or it's... no it's whipped cream." knows his woman.
Where I’m from, there’s a rich family who has an annual scavenger hunt across 3-4 counties and the winner gets $20k. They have hints on billboards, daily texts, a website…etc and at each location you find it has a QR code you scan for the next clue. It’s crazy!
Let’s waste thousands of dollars traveling and be rich enough to take all this time off work just to get 20k hahaha.
@@tylerjames962 Haha! ..."work". You slay me! 😂
I meant work as in executive or ceo levels that get money, not work as in what ever the kardashians think they do or contribute to society…which is nothing.
Ron figuring out the first word was SMASH had me rolling 🤣🤣🤣
I’m embarrassed to admit I just got that.
But Andy was right. Ron was the 1st smartest guy he knew, and Ron helped Ben solve the riddle.
A guy who isn't smart but is wise enough to know who actual smart people are can basically get anything accomplished.
If Ron were to play the Batman Arkham games, he'd have a blast for the wrong reasons.
@@abnon-tha3088 any good ones you would recommend like inscryption?
I think you mean the _right_ reasons
@@jaminsim5965 if you can find or already know, let's say, 5 people who unironically love the Riddler challenges, I will honest to God say that. Otherwise, nobody likes that part of the series.
I love how he slowly develops an adventurer outfit as the video progresses
If Ron loves riddles and scavenger hunts, and hates government, why didn't he just become a detective
what does hating the government have to do with being a detective?
@@tannerrich2388 I mean he can be a detective instead of his current job which is part of the government
@@benburns6598 like a private eye? being a detective for a police force means you still work for the government... -_-

It’s amazing how a show so silly and goofy could simultaneously be so touching and heartwarming. I think it comes from Ron’s laugh, lol.
Ron Swanson achieved a level of greatness so high, no one can aspire to follow. I am still on a pilgrimage of his footsteps but i lack the woodcraft knowledge, the mustache and worse, solve riddles like he does. I am not worthy.
The fact you're striving to achieve, makes you worthy.
Aw him asking for her to please send him on a scavenger hunt is adorable
The joy he experiences when tasked with a challenging riddle to overcome makes me feel so happy, young, and energized again! Thank you Ron Swanson and Nick Offerman!
I love how he’s trying to control his excitement in front of the line for the scavenger hunt 😂😂😂
Ron has a puzzling go bag. Hero.
i lost it when he smashed the cryptex with a hammer. it was a mix of me not expecting it, and Ron giving zero f*cks.
I teared up again when April said that to Ron ❤
Same
I hadn’t remembered that scene, it’s pretty great
He's so excited to solve the riddes lol makes me happy
Oh Ron, you can deny that you love riddles on camera, but we know the truth. 😉😂 (It makes it even better when he actually admits it though).😊 Also, Ron is so smart that he used the simple solution of a hammer to break the cryptex.😉😊
Cutting the gordion knot
But also the solution to the cryptex was the word SMASH. He figured it out and decided to actually smash it instead of typing the code.
"Because its strong, quiet and always there when you need it" thats beautiful as hell
4:22 You can clearly see how Ron was hating every moment of it. 🤣
Ron is my spirit animal idc 💅🏼
I'm with Ron. Puzzles, riddles, chess, and anything that requires problem solving is a true joy.
Ron Swanson runs like Kyler Murray, who runs like a toddler who just stole a piece of candy.
I really wish we got a Ron Swanson birthday puzzle/scavenger hunt from Leslie
April couldn't have a better aunt and uncle than Leslie Knope and Ron Swanson.
4:49 - Her delivery 👍
I like seeing ron enjoy himself 😌
Ron is the person everyone should aspire to he is perfectly balanced
Pretty sure April remembers looking at that tree while ... woof woof.
4:08 "Good God! That woman is good." The way Ron says that is with a perfect mix of adoration, reverence, surprise, and respect with a hint of genuine fear.
"did you try f$*&"
April and Ron’s relationship is goals.
I need a Ron Swanson Spinoff if they aren't going to reboot this show. I NEED a better call Ron.
Seeing Ron become an excited little girl about solving puzzles makes me feel so bubbly inside.
When he gets really excited, His smile and laugh is wholesome
The gum on the shoe was pure magic
A standalone movie with Ron in an "Indiana Jones" role would be fire.
I just answered someone asking why someone who hates government and loves riddles would work in the government by referencing Indiana Jones.
1:08 He’s like a fat kid waiting for his favorite candy store to open. Love it.
Ron and April have the best friendship in the history of tv.
5:18 and so began the origins of Bill lol
Ron Swanson would make the best friend.
So the first word is SMASH - which is another word for everyone's first guess. 10/10.
I've never seen the episode where Craig said he made the lady gaga of scavenger hunts. Is it from the main show or a short or something?
The version that airs on tv is different from the version on Peacock, that scene is from the Peacock one. (I actually just saw it like 2 days ago)
Yeah I thought that was the case too, apparently there are a bunch of little differences between the airing and streaming versions. One I can remember is Ken Hotate saying that white people "love Matchbox Twenty" when the version I saw says they "love Rachael Ray".
@@dylansickinger545 Yeah, some episodes have extended versions. I have the blu-ray box set, and 2-3 episodes per season has a ~6 minute extended version.
@@andrewt9204 yeah. one version of the episode where ron and leslie are locked in the office have an added scene where ron pulls out a lagavulin from a hidden drawer in the wall. been looking everywhere for that one : /
It breaks my heart a bit, knowing how much one of those cryptexes(?) costs, then it makes me laugh to see how satisfyingly easy it broke.
"the teeth, their yours!" 🦷 @ 4:41 is amazing
"I know what things are." Classic!
This makes me wanna rewatch Parks and Rec.
I love that he has a hammer in his desk
*If Batman had Ron's personality* Riddler: "I left you a note on your Batmobile that will-" Batman: "Oh yeah, you've captured Catwoman at a tuna factory. Very cliche, but I did like the twenty digit combination you made for the lock on the energy grinder shut off. You're getting better." Riddler: *pouts and crossed arms*
Seeing how excited Ron is about being able to begin the scavenger hunt brings so much joy to my life. XD
This show is so hysterical, chaotic and wholesome at the same time!
Wish they did an entire episode for his birthday scavenger hunt
What a delight to watch this again. It’ll never get old.
Ron admitting he loves puzzles in the last season as he opened up with Diane and the kids in his life is such a beautiful completely subtle touch. The viewers know he loves puzzles but he’s pretty much tried to hide it in all previous seasons before he became Princess Sparkle of Cupcake Forest
Andy writing the full titles of the paintings on his arm is so funny
This show has so many great moments
9:04 I love Ron Swanson (as an actor) he is so funny.😂😂😂
I love his little scavenger hunt backpack
" Gentleman " cracks me up every time 😂
everybody is a nerd for something and this is so fitting for Ron
"oh baby. You had a crush on me?" "We're married." "But still. That's embarrassing."
I love how excited he gets about solving clues and riddles
I feel better knowing Andy Dwyer is guarding our galaxy.
This reminded me about how much I absolutely love love love this show
Are we all gonna ignore the guy that Andy poured the whipped cream on he looked so defeated
Chris Pratt is hilarious in this and amazing in Terminal List. Wonderful pendulum swing!
How he runs over and grabs his back pack all hunched over 😂😂
“Eating the reverend” 😂😂😂 I want to see that mural!
I like how he has so much fun with this
I just realized the 5 letter word was “smash” Genius
“You get to see a second moon movie, seventh time, only once” Haha…
0:44 Ron knew the answer was "smash".
Fun fact: alot of the old cryptexes contained a vile of vinegar or water, so if you smashed it, it would destroy the message dont think she thought that would be a problem though....
