Baggio: The Divine Ponytail I Official Teaser I Netflix
/ netflix
A chronicle of the 22-year career of soccer star Roberto Baggio, including his difficult debut as a player and his deep rifts with some of his coaches.
I'm a Nigerian, I watch football today because of Baggio. This guy was one of the best player of all time, but highly underrated. I can't forget USA 94, by far the best player of the tournament. That penalty miss still hurt me even as a Nigerian, he deserved to have lift that trophy. Beat us out of that tournament, but he was just too good to hate, so I had to convert my pain to love. Thats how good he was
Beautiful story brother ❤️ for the love of the game ❤️
Thank you Benjamin. As a 12 year old, I was in Italy that summer watching that game. With the last ten minutes left down 1-0, I prepared myself to hold in the tears to deal with the loss. Then Baggio came and let us dream. Thank you for your kind words. Baggio was artist that was able to transcend the sport and unite us all with his humility and preserverence.
👏👋🇮🇹
SAI QUE É TUA, TAFFAREL!!!
Benjamin I agree with you 100%. I think Roberto May have even kept in touch with a one or more of those Nigerian players
This is awesome ❤️💚🌷✌🏼🇮🇹
Today's kids will never understand the undeniable talents of Roberto Baggio.
Clearly they will if Films like this are being made about him..

"Where my talent ends, my faith begins" - such powerful words. I didn't watch him play on too many occasions but I will surely watch this documentary.
Great words!!! IT was delightfull to watch this guy playing
My fav player from the whole world.
You have missed some of the best ever played football in the history of football. If the word magic had shape and form, it would be Baggio.

The Baggio goal vs Nigeria in the 1994 World Cup is still the best sport moment I had in my life. And I got tears on my eyes just looking at this trailer.
As a Nigerian, that goal broke our heart as a nation.
@@jesse-martinmanufor6248 I can feel you. Our heart broke shortly after in the final, I was 17 at the time! And we were already deeply heartbroken 4 years earlier in Italia 90!

One of the greatest players of his generation, that goal against Czechoslovakia was one of the great World Cup goals, can’t wait for this
May 26th, baby.. looks like it’ll be a really good film !
Baggio was the alien that came to earth and sent word to Messi that it was ok to come.
Baggio is LEGEND !Love from SERBIA !

A movie about "il divino"? my favourite 90s football player, the one who alone took Italy to the World Cup final in 94? AWESOME
Don't forget Maldini, it's always the goalscorers, never the great hard working defenders like Maldini.
Thanks for sharing this. Many won't admit it, but I had very little idea who this Baggio was and what he has done to deserve a Netflix film.
@@larquefausse3623 just watch the clips from youtube also, Baggio generates two known fantasista and a regista (all italians)
My favourite of all time. As a child he was the very first player I saw play Who I loved. It’s so much more then skill, the dribble, the calmness - it’s the art he created when he played. 🙏
I'm from Brasil, i was 12 years old in 94, the First world Cup that i truly remember, Baggio and Romário, the best of the world of that year, was decided in that final! And, Roberto is in my top 5, that i had the plesure to see!

DEL PIERO, INZAGHI, PIRLO IN 2006 WERE GREAT AS WELL.
After all these years, its still heartbreaking, he did not deserve this.
what happened to him?
@@AfricanGirl Pretty famously missed a penalty vs Brasil in the World Cup final effectively costing Italy the World Cup. Even today fans describe missing a penalty as " He Baggio'd it"
@@OffYourTrees it’s sad, not to mention some of the coaches he ended up with that didn’t want to play him for whatever reason.
Should have scored
@@OffYourTrees What is not usually told in the story is the fact that even if Baggio would have scored Brazils last penalty taker was Bebeto, who at the time was the team s best penalty taker.Italy missed 3 penalties and Baresi penalty was also a terrible effort.
Oh my god! Grazie! Roberto Baggio... divine!
More than a player, a poet running on ground. Miracles from heaven !

Baggio what a legend👊
Finally...they talk about the Legend !!!
my first memory of live football is Baggio missing the penalty against Brazil. I was a child at the time (5 years). I woke up in the morning after hearing noice from TV room and went there. Everyone in my house in India was cheering for Brazil and at that moment it was Baggio's turn. He skyrocketed his shot and everyone was so happy, I didn't understand much but that memory is crystal clear. Growing up, when I learned more about Baggio, I wished he scored that penalty. Its feels so strange to have someone's only failure as your first memory of the game you love.
Thanks Habeeb. My first memory of a penalty was Baggio too. But the penalty he took vs Nigeria in that same tournament. Baggio at the time had the best penalty conversion in serie A, than the best league in the world. I only came to know about these stats when I grew older and Internet was available in 2002 or so. I felt betrayed by the media for overlooking all those fantastic stats of Baggio.
His goal against Juve as a Brescia player is the best ever
The quintessence of ball control!
I'm from Brescia and when Baggio played in the team of our city I was 20 years old and I haven't lost a single match at the stadium. He also scored other fantastic goals for our team. I remember his last match at Brescia Stadium: Brescia against Lazio. Brescia was already safe in Serie A and Lazio had to win to play in Europa League the following year. I said to a girl that came with me at the stadium: "Sure, we will loose this match, but we'll be there to say goodbye to Roby". Final result: 2-0 for Brescia, assist and goal of Roby Baggio. His last special greeting to our city! It was a moving day for whoever was at the stadium that day. Legendary.
🙏🇮🇹👋
I love this. I’m such a fan of his. All those injuries he fought thru was astonishing. Baggio is #1
A lot of ppl forget how amazing a football player baggio was and this movie will showcase just that how he came up and took over football . It’s just sad it was short lived because of injuries .
22;years
he scored a goal while playing for Brescia that is etched into my mind, took the ball down over his shoulder and froze the keeper in one move. probably the filthiest touch I've ever seen on a pitch
Against juve must be one of the greatest goals ever passed van de sar too in goal
Assist by pirlo too!
Haha Van De Sar in goal. I watched that live.
My all time favourite. The poet of football... He stayed loyal to Italy by all means, but Italy didn’t always showed its loyalty to him...
Ma cosa dici l'abbiamo sempre amato.
Allenatori e calciatori gelosi mica tanto... 🤷🏻♂️
Baggio, he is the first Italian super hero in my time. ITALY rose to 94 final and in each knock out he scored, he was Maradona of Italy❤️
Baggio was an incredible player
LET'S GO!!!! I am so excited for this!! I remember my dad telling about Baggio when I was a kid. He cried when that penalty was missed. Old Man rejoiced in 2006, we use to wake up at 2am and watch matches and I missed school in my 6th grade thanks to World Cup. And we still watch all matches of World Cup, every match. Though I support Germany and him Italy.
Good memories ☺️
Italian Pride...we love you BAGGIO ⚽❤️🇮🇹
A movie on Baggio????!! What!!!! Can’t wait
I have never forgotten his penalty miss, considering I watched him on tv when I was very young kid. His heartbreak was too much that I have never forgotten it upto this day.
Roberto Baggio the legend
A player that proved himself time and time again a genius and a truly world class player. He singled handful took us to the final in 94 nobody deserved that win more than him god is cruel at times. The modern players that are called world class aren’t fit to clean his boots God bless Roberto
He didn't deserve to win the world cup, he deserved to win Man of tournament. Its a team game and Italy didn't deserve to win, Brazil did. Zidane, Baggio, Messi all took teams to finals but lost. Haven't seen a single WC where deserving team didn't win! It's a team game, teamwork deserves accolades.
@@ThankYouGoogle4 at least Zidane won it all (World cup, Euro, Champions league)

I remember growing up how every man in my family used to talk about Maradona. First World Cup I ever watched was USA'94, and yeah like every kid back then I was so excited to see Maradona. However, Roberto Baggio, Romario and Henrik Larsson got my attention. So I can't thank Netflix enough for this documentary.
Baggio one of the GOAT. The attention to detail they even got the same Diadora boots he was wearing during 94 world cup.
The tragic scapegoat for Italy's loss in 1994. One missed penalty and all the good things he did earlier in the tournament were cast aside
The italian keeper had to save the following one in order to permit to brazil not to win
Same with Kahn in 2002. He carried Germany on his back to the final, 1 mistake in the final, and he is a tragic hero...
@@idealdarkness75 man, even lev yashin himself couldn't stand against best trio in the world (ronaldo rivaldo ronaldinho)
I totally agree with you. One lost penalty and people attacked him. In that game, Italy played 100% in defense. During all the match, Brazil played better and created several opportunities. The Brazilian team was much stronger, and Italy struggled to survive through the regular time and the extra time. I remember Pagliuca, Maldini and Baggio. Great players. They should be praised for what they achieved in their career.

Just awesome to read how much Baggio is loved by the world, despite the fact he stopped more than 15 years ago and barely any media in the world talk about him. I remember back in 95 this love was already there on firsts forums on the Internet...today all of this is intact, this man is something else
All Italy want him for World Cup in 2006.
Can’t wait! Iconic player. Probably one of the few athletes of any sports that everyone loves ! So humble. At 18 he had a brutal injury that could have cost him his career, instead he became one of the greatest even tough he played without cartilage in one of his knee throughout his career.. Wow! Every kid has that one player that they regard their hero, Roberto Baggio was mine. The skill with the ball at his feet was truly golden. I think anyone other than a Brazilian fan was floored when he missed the penalty at world cup '94. It hurt. Oouch! I am so very much looking forward to this documentary. Throughout the years we have seen many pictures and read books, seen clips, videos, dvd's of our favourite icons but Roberto Baggio like a treasure box hidden from sight to be discovered and once again brought to light. His autobiography needs a very much needed English version re-release. Perhaps with the viewing on Netflix the impossible will happen - Impossible is Nothing. Keep the candle alight.
