i watched this as a kid and i cried, not because the family died or because the kid had to watch them go, but because the kid was all alone, with no one to talk to, or no one to go to. just all alone.

The only thing I cried about this film when I was a kid was when I figured out nobody can take care of the kid anymore.

What makes me absolutely upset is watching the girl die in her fathers arms as the little boy stands outside at the door by himself not knowing what is happening. This made me cry uncontrollably. 😭

This move freaking TRAUMATISED me as a kid like between the sadness, the fear of whatever that disease is, and the kid attempting to murder his teddy at the end, I was DISTURBED.
