As a person who never blinded by nostalgia like eveyone else, I think the remake is quite improved. It make a lot of sense for ada through that room since she's more acrobatic

Contrarian take
Leon showed impressive acrobatic skills in the cgi movies too (in Vendetta especially) giving the laser room to Ada instead of him makes remake Leon look weaker than original Leon cause now we don't know if in the remake he can do the same stunts. Besides Leon's stunts were a lot more spectacular imo than Ada's here that look boring and nothing special by comparison. The original was also better in lots of things, first of all the characters and villains being overall more charismatic with maybe the only exceptions of Luis and Ashley, the story in the original being longer and better constructed (the remake never even tells you why Saddler kidnapped Ashley, unless you played the original you wouldn't know what he planned to do with her), and also Leon felt faster and more accurate when aiming in the original while in the remake he feels heavier, slower, his movements clunkier and his arms sway when he aims making you miss even at close range often, because it had to be more realistic or they wanted to make the game more difficult I guess. Same with the fact that ganados barely react to some of the gunshots in the remake. Also they stripped the main game of lots of things that they put in separate ways to make you pay 10 dollars for it whereas the original had all that stuff in the main game and more plus Separaye Ways for free instead. Nah guys, shiny and realistic new graphics and few improvements here and there don't fool me, the original is still better (even the graphic still holds up) imo, and didn't really need a remake.
I like that in the remake it’s a mixture of the laser room from the original RE4, but also it is also similar to how it was done in the original Resident Evil film series. Excellent callbacks

The remake version is possibly even better, thanks to the new Martinico chase sequence and Ada’s epic grappling move to escape. The new Separate Ways is a huge improvement over the original PS2 version. RE4 remake is the complete package now.

I've heard original RE4 Leon described as "an insecure person's idea of an action hero" and that's absolutely spot on, he's a great character right out of a B-movie.

The remakes are a more serious and grounded take so it makes sense that Leon is a bit more brooding and affected by his experiences. While the original games are less serious and more camp, so it makes sense for the original that Leon isn't outwardly traumatized because it would clash with the campy tone.
Well, six years between RE2 and RE4, doesn't mean he was in training the whole time. Still, the US MARINE's boot camp (or basic or w/e they call it, Idk) is only several weeks, so even if Leon trained for the better part of like 4 years and was in the field for the other 2, couple that with all his experience fighting Umbrella's monsters and he's still crazily well prepared.
The most stupid thing I've seen in a while is people arguing over which version of the game is better Both games are out there on all platforms just go and play the one you like

the remake highlights ada's difference with the other characters. yes all of them are masters at hand to hand combat, good in handling weapons, and good at riding almost anything. but just like chris whos more bulky and powerful, and leon who has more speed and experience in gun fights, this remake shows ada having more flexibility and agility. edit: so yeah, it was a good choice by RE to make ada go through the laser room

Chris is the brute soldier dedicated to his cause. Leon is the smart mouthed agent who’s been through enough to know who can and can’t boss him around. Ada is the quick-witted, light on her feet spy who uses grapple hooks and ensures her fashion and looks are still flawless no matter how dire a situation is. Out of a Brute Soldier, Agile Agent or Flexible Super Spy, I’d assume the spy would be most likely to go through a laser room. That’s the most James Bond shit imaginable.

In the remake, they made Leon really cold with Ada. At the end in the original, he said: "She is like a part of me that I can't let go". There is something between them, Capcom said that between Resi 5 and 6, they had an "encounter".
he wasn't cold towards ada, he just doesn't trust her that much cause remember what happen back in Raccoon city, in the remake he was just more realistic than the og that felt too melodramatic like a dialogue in a movie

Ada manipulated Leon, so its understandable, now that hes less naive qnd more mature, that hed take a more detached approach to her. He obviously cares about her, probably still loves her, but doesnt mean he trusts her entirely and thus doesnt want to get wooed by her.

Giving the laser sequence to Ada was definitely the move here 🤘🏻 Suits her style a lot more. I kinda wish I knew more about the Martinico boss. There wasn't much info on it, but it looks like it was a hybrid experiment between a Regenerador and an El Gigante. It almost felt shoehorned in.

Speaking of the RE lazer room fun fact one of the shrines in Tears of the Kingdom is a reference to it specifically the scene of clone Alice in extinction honestly kinda crazy to see an RE reference in Zelda especially the RE movies lol but super cool

Original looks good because it's Leon, remake looks better because Ada is very nimble. Original feels intense with very quick qte, remake feels epic with minimal qte and added lasers to dodge

The time between RE4 and RE4 Remake is the same time between Super Mario (NES) and RE4 (Gamecube).
The Remake makes this moment more organic and epic in my opinion. The slow motion is a very cool touch in general
I'm only on Chapter 3 of sperate ways and I can honestly tell you that the remake of RE4, with the inclusion of the DLC, is now quite possibly better than the original game

I’ve always loved that part where the lasers are off and turn on suddenly, then Leon’s backflop.
It was epically remade. With the DLC, Resi 4 Remake is easily one of my favorite games of all time.
New one is really cheap af. Always older versions is better for everything.
In my opinion, the original choreography is better, there is something strange in the new version, but i don't know how to explain it, maybe the camera or the music or the animation, it seems cheap lol, but the lasers cutting instead of simply electrocuting is much cooler in the remake.
That grapple hook shot was intended to look badass but seemed stiff and unrealistic (I know its a game about zombies thats not what I mean). Maybe it was the slow motion, the trajectory of the jump off the wall, idk, but it just felt off in comparison to how smooth leons movies felt in the og.
yep the original cutscenes are so well done i’ll always remember leon kicking the big cheese and the camera panning to show he actually caught the kick. straight out of hollywood. timeless masterpiece imo one of the best made games oat

krauser fights against leon, salazar's personality is still the same, but the remake made more natural, saddler is a real cult leader in remake. A lot of things about the lore and how the history is been told for us is soooo much better than the original game, and it makes more sense
