Russia makes more gains around Avdiivka | Situation worsens for Ukraine | Live Discussion

Vladimir Putin’s forces have made further gains in at least three locations along the eastern front in Ukraine - including for the first time in several months an advance in the northern Kharkiv region - again highlighting Kyiv’s need for ammunition and weapons from the United States and other allies.
Russia’s tactical advances are now daily and reflect the new tempo on the battlefield since the fall of the industrial town of Avdiivka in February. Is Russia gaining tempo ahead of the arrival of U.S. weapons?
WION's Shivan Chanana discusses with Dr. Sergey Markov, former spokesman for Russian president Putin, former member of the Russian parliament and director of the institute of political studies and Russian political scientist

  • Finland is not killing ethnic Russians. Whereas, Ukraine started shelling Donetsk since 2014 because Donetsk wanted to become a autonomous republic. The Ukrainians killed 22,000 of it's own citizens by 2022; most of which were ethic Russians. No one tried to enforce the Minsk Accord, so Russia stepped in to protect the people of Donetsk, and the ethnic Russians in the entire Donbas region. That's why you have the existing situation today.

    • That's well put and to the point. Thank you. The West claims this was an invasion started in 2022, when in reality this was a matter of Russia putting an end to Kiev terrorizing the people of Donbas who refused to accept that NATO installed puppet government of Kiev and the subsequent discrimination of Russian speakers in Ukraine (basically 40% of Ukraine's population). Ultimately, this is a NATO-Russia war. Ukraine should be viewed as a colony used as a proxy against Russia.

    • Yes people with brains know about this, but the problem is that Western narrative is too strong accross the globe. The only long-term solution is to remove the Western hegemony and make this world a multi-polar world.

    • But the war started from the taking Crimea first right? Just trying to learn. If so how was that justified?

      @ShortContent853@ShortContent85321 күн бұрын
    • @@ShortContent853 Crimea was an autonomous republic within Ukraine and had been fighting for secession from Ukraine since 1991. After the coup in Ukraine in 2014, Crimea declared its independence and asked Russia to provide protection during the conduct of the referendum. There was no "seizure" by Russia, Crimea itself made this decision to ensure its security. Even then it was clear that the illegal Kiev regime would send troops to Crimea and Donbass to suppress public protests against the coup. However, the Kiev regime was afraid to send troops to Crimea, realizing that Russia was protecting it. Therefore, Kiev troops were sent to Donbass, where they began killing civilians based on political views and race. They were not even troops, but "volunteer battalions" consisting of Ukrainian nationalists. Greetings from Crimea.

  • The Russian guest presented the Russian point of view in a convincing manner. CIA was reckless with the lives of Slavic people, including Russians and Ukranians, when it did not make efforts to stop the discriminatory treatment of the ethnic Russians in Ukraine. The Russian forces are fighting for the interests of the ethnic Russians and not for the Ukranian Territory.

  • Surely, Russia does not want to see Odessa becoming yet another NATO base right next door! Russia might have a great territory, but most of its lands are frozen during long periods of the year; the Black sea is of existential need for Russia´s existence, and wellbeing, certainly when knowing what the malicious West is up to!

  • History is always cyclical. In history we can trace a large number of moments when it seemed that the Russian army was about to lose - Napoleon's 1812 campaign into Russia can be clearly distinguished. Napoleon's rapid advance to Moscow, the loss of the Russian army at Borodino (the largest battle), as well as the burning of Moscow, but eventually it all came to an end when the Russian autocrat Alexander I entered Paris in 1815 - he was welcomed as a liberator. World War II - the Red Army initially suffered major defeats: the loss of the Crimean Peninsula, the siege of Leningrad (St. Petersburg), the flight and mass retreat of the Russian army, all of which eventually led to the complete defeat of the Nazi invaders in 1945. The Red Army was also greeted as a liberating army. This time history repeats itself - the retreat from Kherson, Kiev region, and all this will eventually lead to the capture of Kiev, the Russian army will also be welcomed as liberators. The Russian army liberated Serbs, Bosniaks, Greeks and other peoples from the Ottoman yoke, the Russian army was also welcomed as liberators. Victory will be ours! Glory to Russia! Let's work, brothers.
