    • Come on, those 'silly' people are busy getting to work, school, or other destinations. Everyone can surely tell if something is beautiful or not, but most of the time he/she just cannot afford the luxury...

  • The dreariness of the busy tube station strangely adds to the pathos of this extraordinary, sad and beautiful melody. Philip, your musical virtuosity, lovely smile and generous goodness touch me deeply.

  • Dear Philip, What an amazing tune. You stopped me in my tracks tonight man.... I walked round in circles at London Bridge to see where this enchanting sound came from - it was so beautiful. Hearing it live was just sensational. And meeting you was also brilliant, you seem like such a lovely guy. Next time please carry your business cards :) I'm going to search the internet to see where I can buy this. Take care Philip!

    • Yes I too passed him on the underground and like you I was spell bound by his beautiful playing. I'm currently learning this piece on the erhu (Chinese violin) and remembered that fantastic harmonica player. I'm so glad that Clockwork Brothers loaded it up on YT.

  • First of all, this is one of John Williams' most wonderful pieces of music and secondly, how can people just walk past it?

  • I Googled Philip Achille and he has an impeccable CV; he's a graduate of the Royal College of Music and has done sound tracks for film and television. I'm bewildered he's not yet world famous like Larry Adler.

  • I took an art class, and next door was the dance studio.. for someone's dance final, a dancer choreographed a dance for this song, I got to see her rehearse and practice it several times. While I tried to paint on my easel. College was amazing.

  • I think this is John Williams' best film composition and Stephen Spielberg's most important film. Beautiful, haunting and so evocative, it is perfect for the film. I,too, have met Philip, and I agree he is such a lovely guy, modest, unassuming and such a talent. His performance of Genevieve at the proms was unbelievable.

  • I just LOVE this tune - brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. John Williams is nothing short of a genius and this version by Philip is just awesome. Why he isn't affiliated with an orchestra I fail to understand rather than busking the London Underground. Such a waste of pure talent, although sadly there aren't that many pieces for harmonica and orchestra. Anyway thank you for sharing your talents here.

  • Yup, soooo amazing. Philip Achille added value to this great John Williams piece. I play the same kind of harmonica and can easily play that song but Philip Achille elevated the harmonica and the song there. Not that easy. Philip Achille needs to be inspired by people and his admirers. I follow up on chrom harmonica players, jazz and classical, every time, and Philip Achille is greatly missed. Play on Philip. Shine bright more.
