In this video, I'm going to share 5 Tips To Fix Separation Anxiety in Dogs. My Pomeranian Cece used to have moderate separation anxiety with constant whining/crying/barking and peeing whenever we leave her home alone. It took me a very long time to figure out how to ease her separation anxiety and help her feel more comfortable when being left home alone. I'm gonna save you from all that time trying to figure out all of this by yourself and shared with you what actually helped with my pomeranian’s separation anxiety.

  • "Don't make a big deal out of it". That, right there. You don't go and cry and hug your children/parents/spouse every time you leave the house, because that would be _weird._ It would make it seem like you're gonna leave forever, or were hiding something important. Likewise, making a party every time you return will reinforce the idea that going away and returning is something special and strange. Just leave. People leave and come back all the time, and they have to learn it's no big deal. Ignore them. Don't warn them when you're leaving, and ignore them when you return. Hurts to be ignored (and to ignore them, I know), but they'll be fine. Mama/papa's busy, and soon enough it'll be time for cuddles again. Work up their tolerance to being alone bit by bit, give them stuff to do to keep them occupied, and they'll be fine.

  • Before separating, I'll practice mindfulness meditation with my doggie. I use the book 30 Days to Reduce Anxiety by Harper Daniels to practice mindfulenss exercises.

  • Hii, I love your vids I’m a big fan, What about if my Pomeranian barks at absolutely everything: cars, motorcycles, people, other dogs, etc. And why does he bark so much? (I think it’s because he’s scared) How do I calm him down and how do I stop him from running to the person and biting them?

    • Наша собачка, если подбегает к человеку, то чтобы полизать его,...даже незнакомцев! А лает потому что любит полаять, тоже не все и на всех... Думаю, что ему просто нравится его красивый голос...))) или показать что он всем очень рад!!!

  • I have question about Pom, is it true they are not allowed to do jumping up and down couch due to small leg bones? How do you help this?

    @qazzaq1005@qazzaq10057 ай бұрын
    • That's true! It should be pretty easy if you don't allow them on the couch right from the beginning. Ours don't even know how to jump since we never teach them to so we never have to worry about them jumping. However, once the dog gets into the habit of jumping on the couch already, it might take a while to fix the problem and you will have to retrain them so they know they are not allowed on the sofa. There are several videos on KZhead that might be able to help with this.

  • HELP ME PLEASE! i just got a pom 3 weeks ago and I can't leave the house with out him crying the whole time. I can't even leave the room he's in without him climbing over the baby gate to chase me down and i've only had him 3 weeks! I know it isn't helping him but i let him sleep with me only because i just lost my puggle of 16 years right before i got him and he slept with me every single night. Like i need serious help now because it's already really bad n he's 5 months old and my first Pom. Any other suggestions any one has other then the video would be greatly appreciated. i also read comments about giving toys etc but even when he's out n about he wants nothing to do with his toys and only wants to be laying under my feet or for me to put him on my lap. i really created a monster within the 3 1/2 weeks and it needs to stop ! Thank You
