    • Not just around, but still performing at the highest level. Not sure he'll last the 80 in many matches, but his control of the game was excellent. Was a little disappointed in how safe he played when kicking to touch in the second half, but that's the only barely negative aspect from the game. More interesting was seeing that Lowe has added some defensive skills to his game, and Hugo's catching of high balls was exemplary - can't see Stockdale nicking that place in the squad unless there's an injury.

Compare that to the depth the other nations have built. Rhys Carre is not the right man to come on and scare the opposition, and unfair to bring on Webb so late and expect him to change the game, especially when he's been left out the team for nearly 4 years. • There is a crisis in rugby refereeing at the moment that is ruining the game and is never talked about. It seems like every game I watch, a referee makes a glaring game ending, momentum killing error that ruins the game and takes the excitement away. There should be an independent comission and a league table for ref's where bad decisions that are clear and obvious end up with the ref being relegated down a level from the quality of games they are currently refereeing and therefore their financial earnings are affected. "Oh, you made a terrible error that just cost a tier one nation a game? Have fun reffing tier 2" if referees had an actual incentive for getting decisions mostly correct then they would improve. Then we would get to see some of these terrible referees running around the local u15s where they belong.

  • 14 minutes to put 3 points on the board. Wales are even worse than last year. BORING, big fat forward battle. Dour and dull, just like the past 40 years of Welsh rugby. Yawn. I switched off after that.
