There is something so relaxing and therapeutic about just being quietly busy in their presence. If I won the lottery and could give up work, I would be begging local stables to just let me go and muck out and sweep their yards all day long!

  • Wow, Scarlet has really filled out under all that hair. IT was so cute seeing her regret tasting the detangler. I love it when horses make that yuck face. It'll be very exciting to see you ride Stewy now that he has another year on him. He is such a cute, compact package. He is definitely a sturdy little horse. thank you for addressing the 20% rule re you riding Stewy -- all rules have exceptions but knee-jerk reactions on YT are even more predictable. Stewy definitely is heavy-boned and short-backed. Thank you so much for sharing your multitude of horses and their multitude of personalities with us today :)

  • I walk around with a pocket full of dried fruits and nuts. For me. I once had a mare that was devoted to dried peaches. Stone fruits aren’t necessarily good for them. So I only used them once a month. Extra special gifts. Never a whole one. Always just a dry sliver. She would curl her nose and concentrate when chewing it. But always showed up for it. You are far more responsible about food than I have been.

  • Stewie looks like a mongolian pony! He’s so cute. The Mongolian men ride small horses and they are often wearing layers of cold weather clothing, not to mention an eagle, and those horses seem to be ok with it all. It’s about how well the horse balances itself and how fit they are. I don’t think you are too big for him. Also, he’s about the perfect size that an olden days cowboy would prefer. Easy to step up on and step down from. Close to the ground and athletic.

  • Watching you clean, gave me the chills. Last summer, after cleaning I tacked up my mare, swung my leg over the seat till i froze mid air and looked down at my saddle by the horn and a black widow nested with about 5 huge sacks filled w/ future 1000’s of babies in her web below the horn and swell in that perfect open space. I very calmly screamed my brains out. Ran around in circles and I thought no way my horse is getting bit by a black widow with her spiderlings! Threw the saddle on the ground and got some good old Vaseline and saddle soap, made a thick paste, and using of my really thick ranch gloves I’d like to think I suffocated them front to back!🕷️ it was terrifying all those sacks popped open and the babies crawled all over and I’m just gonna tell you that stepping on a baby black widow spider doesn’t mean anything…there’s 1000 more! it was the most horrifying experience. I’m an arachnophobic so I’m just giving y’all a warning check your saddle in those creepy, dry dark areas. It has to have happened to somebody other than me.

  • ‘Spring Fever’ appears to be in the air and a joy to be witness to those who enjoy which includes this viewer. I enjoyed seeing your saddles and was impressed with the one you built on a Wade tree, nice work. Saddles are an investment and will hold their value as cost for most things go up. Skeletor learning to ‘self-regulate’ is a good sign to see in any horse or human as well. The outline and choice of saddle pads was interesting to hear about as choices can vary from person to person. The ground work with Gus and your explanation of what and why you were doing it was informative and made good sense. Your work with Scarlet near the end was enjoyable to watch as well. Thank you once again for documenting your work; it is a pleasure to witness.

  • Another wonderful video...my daughter has become hooked as well. She is 48 and an organic farmer here in Humboldt County, California. We both love CC so much for all that she is and gives. What a treat. Namaste'

  • Nigel is such a character. I was rooting for him to like the banana. When I lived in rural Costa Rica for a bit during a fruitarian phase of my life (I still eat lots of fruit), the owner of the place I stayed, her two Peruvian Paso horses favorite treat was mango! Once when I got to go ride we took them to a mango tree in town and they gorged on the ones that had fallen to the ground while we grabbed them from branches and it was a feast. I'll never forget that.

  • Those mountains are beautiful. With the clouds they change colors. Fist time I was in Montana the beauty made me speechless. I want to live in that area. DeBorgia, Superior, Haugen. I’ll take any of them!

  • What a great day! Lots of hard work but so much got accomplished. I was really impressed with Scarlets bath-- she learned a lot. She is really sweet when she is being curious. I think that treats are a good reinforcement in training. ❤️ she's going to grow up to be a great girl!

  • I could watch hours of your video. You have so many different chores/activities each day. I’m starting to remember the horses names and personalities 😊 Scarlet was fun to watch as she was so curious.
