The fact that I always assumed this was a V12 is a testament in and of itself of how good it sounds
Well it is technically half a v12 so makes sense
v12s sound like 2 inline 6s or two v6s ran together at the same time creating either loud raspy distortion or loud high pitch harmonization
V12's and a inline six often sound the same. Glorious!❤❤
I love the M1, unique because where else will you find an inline 6 mid engine car.
Inline 6s sound better than V6s most of the time too 🫣
@@mohammedhasib451 true but not in the case of the detroit diesel engines the 6V series sounds much better than the 6-53/71 series

@@mohammedhasib451in general older 6 cylinder cars sound so much better, newer V6s or i6s are muted by turbochargers

I never cared much or knew about this car, but when I was playing a mod for NFS Undercover, it had this car and I instant felt in love with it. Now every racing game that has this car, I gotta have it. This is pure eargasm on wheels.
Probably my favorite racecar of all time. The sound, looks, liveries, and so on just work so well on this car. I know I can’t afford an M1 Procar, especially the one hand painted by Andy Warhol; but I would love to just see one of these in person one day.
Also really funny that there is a Jägermeister sponsored edition.

From what I can remember, the racing world never respected & appreciated this car as it should have been. The only German car that came close to rivaling the C-111! Imo.

273 standard, to 477bhp in race spec naturally aspirated. When turbocharged up to 1000 bhp.
For some reason 580 is stuck in my head, but who knows where that came from.
