"One day Marni can go and live with Rèmi" The implications in that simple phrase are bittersweet
Almost makes me want to do the same thing if I ever decide to have a child. That way, child and bird will always have a friend even after I’m gone :’)
That is life! Don't fear dying. Fear not living.
😕
Yeah..
It shows the lady's reflection on the life. She is aware of death. That is wisdom. To remember death is wisdom.
I love the idea that the bird may still be there when Remi's parents are gone. That's tragic but also very comforting.
It's not tragic. It's beautiful. They will all live a full life
Imagine if the Cockatoo had lived its life with its own babies and no human interference
@@johnhiggins7530 how is it human “interference” if he was domestically bread by humans? He wouldnt be alive without a human? Just like your stupid hamster or dog wouldnt be. And alot of domesticated birds do get babies. But look at me… I’m trying to explain something to Mr. Ignorant…
Almost like having a sibling....
I'm in a public place and this mom's comment made me tear up. . sometimes you just don't want to think of parents not being "invincible." 💕🕊️
Those boys are so lucky to have a mama like that. She’s amazing.
Great mom and woman..!!! No words can describe how inspiring she is...
Inspiring ❤ kindness ...BEAUTIFUL
Ha ha, you got it.
Some us never had parent's at all so no idea what's it's like
That mama is so lucky to have two precious boys like that..💕💕💕
I really appreciate the way she’s teaching the baby to be gentle with the cockatoo.
That's one of the first things that should be taught, not only for the animals sake but that's literally how to avoid getting your child hurt by not understanding animal limits
I really appreciate that too! Sadly, my cousin won't teach any of that to her child. Mini story here My cousin and her husband adopted a guinea pig for there 2 year old daughter (NOT a good idea!) The kid named him Pepe. Anyways, he died 2 weeks later. The girl grabbed him so harshly! Her parents literally watched her and said NOTHING! It makes me so angry when parents don't care that their child is abusing an animal😡. Me and my sister felt so bad for this poor guinea pig! He didn't deserve this! So we would always say no to her, or take pepe away from her so she couldn't hurt him(her parents were watching too) the kid literally CRIED and had a tantrum like she had never heard the word no in her life! Her parents got mad cuz we were scolding their child but cmon, it was for the sake of pepe! It got so bad to the point that my dad had to tell his immature niece(the girls dad) that he can't get mad at us for saying no to his child. He said "someone has to do it, and it's clearly not you or your wife!" They live with us btw thats how we know. One day she grabbed pepe and RAN, she then chucked Pepe across the backyarded! Who the heck does that! Her mom literally saw! And the only thing she did was say "were is Pepe?" Me and my sister ran towards pepe to see if he was ok. Ofc he wasn't! Poor lil guy died! SHES A MURDERER. Now that she doesn't have a guinea pig she abuses my dog now! She kicks her and laughs! She pulls my dogs tail and pulls her ears! My dog is really patient with her idkw. But then after a month my dog was so sick and tired of it she growled at the girl and lunged towards her to bite her hand. The girl deserved it. Her mom ran to her kid and scolded me and my dog! She said I need to watch my dog and that I should've been taking care of her kid😳. Who leaves there kid with a kid. Anyways the kid is a devil she thinks physically abusing animals is funny and her parents suck. The girl is also a murderer May your sole rest in Peace Pepe, I'm so sorry you had a terrible life.😔
@@LiptonTea34 I feel so bad of Pepe but I have a solution, just kick them out or if you’re old enough move out with your dog and get a job.
Yes exactly not expecting the animal to just be tolerant because it's a baby
@@LiptonTea34 I agree with you her parents should teach her how to be gentle with animals and i know it may seem mean for them to say no to her they have to do it just or else she’s gonna think that she can just boss people around and pull their limits and that’s gonna get her in a lot of trouble one day it’s horrible what happened to Pepe and her parents need to grow up and not blame you a responsible person who understands that they need to tech their kid some basic morals and that it’s not ok to act like a living thing is a toy this sickens me thank you for sharing that story may Pepe Rest In Peace she should have been treated better thank you for standing up for her
Thats cool cause raising these birds can be multi-generational.
It is amazing they can live up to 80 years!
@@lowandodor1150 But also sad because a lot of people get these kinds of birds, thinking they're cute pets... without realising they'd be pets for life. Unlike cats or dogs who maybe live up to a maximum of 15-20 years, 80 years is an entire human lifetime in which the bird needs to be taken care of and entertained. The most abused and neglected kind of pets are birds, especially Cockatoos and other parrots.
@@Windmelodie That is beyond tragic and sad. I didn't mean it like that though, i was just stunned they could get that old. But yeah, people...the same old problem...people. I think keeping birds and reptiles is pretty much cruel and i wish people would only do it, if they are able to give the animal the space and the conditions they need. Just like with age, it is the same issue with size, the animal is _so cute_ in the beginning and then......they get tossed onto the side of the road or worse. People are awful.
Is it cool though? If the child, the adult child, is fine with it, sure. If not- search Dodo's "stressed out parrot plucks out all feathers" videos. You don't even have to actively hurt the bird, all you have to do is ignore it or barely be interested in it. It's a gamble, in my opinion. Dogs and cats are half as needy as this parrot and look what happens to them when somebody's children don't intend to look after it.
@@mikshinee87 Why so negative?
Its hard to imagine how much you can love a bird or how much they can love you until you have a cockatoo
This is so true. My U2 picked me almost 12 years ago but she was my ex's parent's birb so although we spent a lot of time together, we didn't really connect, if that makes sense. After I brought her to live with me permanently, the actual bonding happened so fast and now we are inseparable (except when I'm at work and she's sleeping). Besides my children, I've never known love like I do for and from my Pebbles girl. I'm so glad I get to be owned by her.
As precious as this video is, I am more happy that the owner is extremely vigilant of how baby handles the parrot and how she gently corrects babies movements if it seems too rough. Too many pet owners allow their children to do as they like without any thought to how the animals stress levels become around all that haphazard handling and interaction, so it’s wonderful to see a parent who is adept at both the parrot and child’s needs cohesively.
Yes, that was nice to see. Always doing it with a smile and not being any negativity I got their interaction. That’s also a very very secure bird who feels safe to have baby squealing like that and bird didn’t even flinch. That feels like they provide a safe and loving home.
How sweet this video is❤️❤️❤️
God is real how could something so complex like the universe and humans be made from bacteria or rocks or evolution we just couldn’t God made it all 🎉
Proper handling insures their won’t be any aggression.
Ja, genau richtig. Schön gesagt ❤
This video is precious. I was 11 years old when I got my umbrella cockatoo. She was 8 months old. I'm 44 now, and she's still with me, still my best buddy. A life long friend.... literally 🥰
Wow , Now that is something special
That's so cute...meanwhile I keep suffering through losing my dogs!
Wow!!!! That is amazing
Oh that's beautiful 😊💕
Wonderful and true beauty f both of you 🥰🥰😎😎🤩🤩
Wow 80 years together. Friends for life. Long life. No heartbreak of losing a pet over and over throughout his life.
Well, but maybe a heartbreak for the cockatoo. I prefer having to go through the sadness myself rather than have my precious friend suffer, particularly a cockatoo who doesn’t usually bond with another person that easily. So I’m happy that this bird should have this little friend, it gives me hope…
Most larger parrots such as macaws and cockatoos are friends for life. A lot of people who own large birds have to put them on their wills because they live so long.
Most parrots don't live that long in most homes as their owners unfortunately don't put the time, energy, and effort into properly researching and caring for that animal. As well as making sure their air quality is safe.
Unfortunately they don't always live to 80. Lost my sweet boy at 25 to cancer
Maybe I'll get a bird that lives long next, my cat is 17 and has kcd, I don't know how much longer she'll be around but I've always tried to do whatever possible to give her a good life and will do my best for her till she leaves me. It's going to be the hardest thing losing the only living creature I've ever consider my best friend and comrade, don't know if I'll be able to go through it a second time.
I have so much respect for parents that show their children how to love animals. Beautiful family, God bless them 🙏

What a heartwarming lesson here. Having your children respect the animals we share this planet with. Wonderful.
When Marni got in the crib and lied on his back like a baby, it was too cute! Both of them are adorable and the mother made it all possible, giving Marni a home and hatching her egg, so Remi and Marni would never be alone. The epitome of what a mommy can be.

So unusual for a bonded parrot to bond with someone else at the same time. The mum has played this perfectly. And though the last comment could have been a bit depressing, knowing that that beautiful bird and that absolutely adorable baby already have a strong bond, makes it a more hopeful thought. So many old parrots lose their people and go into a deep depression. At least this one will still have someone to love, and simultaneously, he'll be a comfort to his (currently!) little friend!
I am not crying youre crying T.T
Cockatoos are kind of different, they seem to like everyone in a family
Perfectly stated, I really appreciate your observation. 💜🌸💜

A boy and his bird. Lifelong friends right there. They will be 60 plus years old and still buddies.
i really like the way the lady still treats her bird the same as her child . love them equally.
It’s beautiful because she appreciates the bird and also loves the baby obviously. And also teaching the baby how to be gentle around the bird.
Unlike some, the minute they have a child, the put the their pet up for adoption or in a shelter as if all of a sudden, the poor animal is useless.
@baked dorito that's not always true. Babies can coexist with pets, but it is only as long as the parents teach both boundaries and when not to be around each other. The parents are mainly responsible for making sure neither get hurt, and in general as the biggest rule of thumb, pets should never be left alone with children.
@baked dorito Responsible pet owners/parents always supervise.
@@emke9326 im not going to deny that our 2 cats got a lot less attention after we got our first child, but putting them in a shelter was never an option. Unfortunately 1 cat passed away in the meanwhile, but the remainig cat and my son of 8 are best buds now.
That was very insightful to include Marni in every activity. even after Remi was born. While the baby has greater physical needs, the older kids (inc. animals) still have emotional needs. That inclusion minimizes any jealousy and promotes a sense of family among all members. Brothers for life!
So true, well said!!
It also encourages natural flocking behavior. By including him, she established that caring for a baby was a flock activity, something that he's involved in instead of excluded from, leaving no room for jealousy
Maybe he'll bring him to college
Agree.. parents can learn from her how to behave with their children too.. to lessen sibling rivalry as a newborn comes into the home! Great Mom/parenting skills here! Well done 👍
That’s is just wayy too adorable when they are both on their backs!! Lmao 🤣😂😂
The mother is very intelligent and loving. To have a cockatoo is a gigantic responsibility because they live as long as humans. To have a baby that will grow up who will perhaps have babies who will help to take care of Marni is not just intelligent, it is a real act of love for the babies and the cockatoo. I'm trying to sound scientific, but I'm tearing up. This is wonderful.
Worlds best mom. Instead of doing what so many parents do by rehoming animals because they are too lazy to take the time to make the animals fit in with the new change of the baby, she includes her pet with everything involving her baby. I love everything about this!
Hahaha
Yes
Well some her doctors are probably mad for this... I feel that
Someone who gives up a pet because they can’t care for it is not lazy, they’re responsible.
@@Meraxes6 Then they shouldn’t have gotten a pet to begin with if they cannot foresee themselves being able to be responsible for that pet’s needs through every phase of life. There are very rare scenarios where rehoming a pet is genuinely the only option, and I empathize with that, but the majority of cases involve lazy and reckless owners who give up on their animal and kick it to the curb when its novelty and cuteness wares off and responsibility sets in. I see so many pets every single week online locally who’s owners are getting rid of them for absurd and irresponsible reasons that should NEVER be a reason to get rid of a pet who is now being traumatically ripped away from the only people they have ever known. They treat their pets like an object void of sentient feelings, emotions and needs, and only care about themselves without giving any consideration to their animal that they WILLINGLY CHOSE to adopt/purchase without doing the slightest bit of research as to what the commitment and care of that pet truly entails. Would I rather someone re-home their pet rather than abuse it? Of course, but that isn’t the underlying problem in most cases. I have zero respect for people who get an animal because it looks cute or it’s fun to post on social media, neglect to do the necessary research, neglect to consider the animal’s needs and emotions, and toss the animal when it gets to be too hard of a responsibility. So yes, they absolutely ARE lazy, and they are the OPPOSITE of responsible. Being ACTUALLY responsible would mean that they never got the pet in the first place after they did research and realized they wouldn’t be able to meet the pet’s needs in ALL seasons of life, including if things become challenging behaviorally or financially. If you wouldn’t give your child up when things get hard, then you shouldn’t be giving your pet up either. I’m not talking about the rare cases where there truly is no other options left and rehoming is what is best for everyone, including the animal. Those are the overwhelming minority though. Ask ANY animal rescue and they will tell you the same. Most don’t even attempt to exhaust all of their options, such as just putting in the extra effort to get off the couch and actually train the animal they signed up to care for, and instead they just jump straight to abandonment, as if the animal is an inanimate object. It’s absolutely disgusting. I know it first hand, as my sweet rescue pup who heartbreakingly just passed away a month ago after spending 10 years as my best friend, was returned to the shelter after only a week of being adopted by someone else. Their reason for returning her? She got into their stash of weed and quote “shredded linens”. She had already endured years of abuse in horrific conditions in an animal hoarding situation that was a major rescue operation, where many dogs either didn’t make it or lost body parts due to the horrid conditions they were living in. She had to go through months of treatment before even being adoptable, and then unfortunately fell into the hands of the first people who adopted her, only to be returned by them a week later. She was terrified of everything, and it definitely took a lot of time and patience to help her overcome her fears, but you couldn’t have asked for a sweeter or more well behaved dog. Not ONCE did she destroy anything in the home. Not ONCE did she have an accident (even when she had widespread cancer towards the end of her life). Not ONCE did she show even a hint of aggression and loved everything, every person and every animal (even bunnies, turtles, and other wildlife that she lovingly befriended and never tried to attack), even the few times another dog tried to attack her she did nothing in return. She truly could not have been more incredible or more special than she was, and everyone who met her knew it and acknowledged that she was the sweetest dog they ever met (even people who didn’t like dogs prior to meeting her). Not once did she even TRY to get into anything she wasn’t supposed to, nor did she ever “shred linens” or anything close to it. While I am thankful that we were blessed enough to adopt her due to the first adopters returning her, I have zero respect or understanding towards them. Even IF what they said was true about what she “did” (which I will never even understand how that could be possible given how she NEVER even slightly behaved like that in the 10 years I had with her), that is NOT a justified reason to return a dog who had already been through so much, after they WILLINGLY made the commitment to adopt her knowing her background. What they did was give her MORE trauma that she had to work through and heal from due to their negligence, laziness and irresponsibility. She deserved far better than that being the angel of a soul she was. They had NO business adopting ANY animal if “shredding linens” was a dealbreaker and they couldn’t be a responsible enough adult to put potentially dangerous things out of reach. So no, I have no respect to give to irresponsible people like that who dump and abandon an animal over ridiculous and lazy reasonings, in turn causing avoidable deep seeded trauma to helpless animals, and it is FAR more common and FAR more damaging than you are clearly aware of, and they are not worthy of being defended.

cockatoo's are some of the most insane birds but omg if they don't match the energy of everyone they're around and just make it feel so bright
Can I just say... this parent knows what she's doing. Like any pet and kid, it's a hit/miss situation whether the kid and the pet get along or not, birds especially. I absolutely love how this mom has helped strengthen the bond between the cockatoo and the baby. I think the thing I love most about this was that the mom got toys of the bird to help the kid to not be scared of him. Birds with those kinds of beaks and of that kind of size can scare some people, so I'm really happy that that mom was able to make the bird seem like a friend in that way. And I'm really happy that she's supervising them when together, that way they won't hurt the other. She knows what she's doing. I also loved that she knew to dote on both the baby and bird equally. It's SO imperative that this happens. They're both kids in a way and both deserve that love and affection. I truly hope that the kid and the cockatoo will stay buddies for many years to come. Great job, Mom!
Elora, I love and resonate with your heartfelt and soul lifting expression.
100% this is what proper bird care looks like and I'm so glad to see it.
Parrots are my favorite type of animal, don't get me wrong. But people are scared of those beaks for a reason. Especially cockatoos, the most unpredictable in the parrot family. They could snap those baby fingers like a baby carrot.
Ive seen this happen with not cockatoos but with cats, but I'm also happy to see that she TAUGHT THE BABY HOW TO PET THE BIRD VERY EARLY ON! I can't tell you how many times I've seen videos of babies and toddlers just pulling on a cats whiskers or tail, and the parents be shocked that the cat turned around and smacked the baby like the cat is crazy. I was so happy that the mother actually sat down and showed the baby how to properly pet the bird, how to handle him from a distance, and it seemed like she also taught him to be quieter around the bird too. Or at least it seems like that to me. THATS A BIRD PARENT WHO KNOWS HOW TO HANDLE BOTH A BABY AND A BIRD TOGETHER
I loved that she was showing baby how to pet marnie gently too, people will complain their kids are too rough with their pets but babies have to be taught to be gentle when petting.
This woman is wise about supervising them both while together so that the baby won't grab the bird roughly as babies do because they don't know how to measure their strength. Kudos to her.
That and birds can break skin if they end up biting even if they don't mean too
@@shadowunicorn4997 yeah. Bites just happen in moments of carelessness. I can’t say I’d be comfortable letting a baby around my toos- but they’re old and grumpy.

They would if we didn't feed them so much garbage. They're not supposed to be stuffed with grains. We're killing them.
@@tyd8077 I've never heard of a mammal that size living to 80 years. Granted, the grains in the diet do not help matters.
Parrots, the one pet that enjoys the sound of a screaming baby. Of course on the downside the baby will outgrow the screaming and the parrot may be doing it forever, lol.
Lolol
Hahahahahahaha
You know it! I have a photo from almost 30 years ago of my daughter who was 3 watching TV wearing ear protectors when it was end of day scream time for Gizmo our SC Cockie
This woman is incredible. True mama to both
Oh I just love this story. They'll be able to truly grow old together. I had 5 pitbulls in my house when I had my children and everybody was terrified that those dogs were going to eat my babies. They ended up being the best guardians, protectors, nannies, best friends, and clean up crew that a mom could ever want. I always knew that my children were absolutely safe with all of those dogs, However, I also knew that I had done the work required for that to be the case to be clear. Sometimes I think people's fears deprive them of wonderful experiences that they could have if they had only just listened to their hearts instead. Luv these two together, what an amazing lifetime bond, and thank you so very much for sharing it with all of us! 💖💙
You were lucky
Remi has got to be one of the happiest babies I’ve ever seen, what a smile !
She seems like an incredible mother
Imagine having a parrot as your first best friend and having him around you for 20-30 years. That's just so awesome
Love the way you handled things when Rémi was born and Marni was a bit jealous, you dealt with the situation perfectly, what a lovely, happy, mixed species family you have.
The fact that they could be lifetime companions is just too good
The intelligence and affection is very easy to see. A wonderful ongoing story.
This could not possibly be more precious, wonderful, adorable!!!
I love cockatoos. This woman is a perfect parent to both her kid and fid.
Awww that boy has one of the best friends ever, animals are the most amazing, loving creatures ever🐶🐱🐻🦊🐯
thats a well behaved bird, and quiet, dont see many like that.
I know these birds have a powerful bite and cockatoos, epically, are known for not only just biting but not letting go anytime soon. Hope the mom knows how to read the bird and never let this happen.
One day the baby is going to grow up into a bird enthusiasts or a zoologist
That would be so awesome! :D
@@Random_Being1 yes it would
Zoos are prison for animals
Sara, zoologists don’t necessarily work in or for zoos. They are scientists who study animals. They could study out in the wild or advise care for animals in sanctuaries.
@@saragirma6577 exuse me they are not stupid they are for people to see and study stupid
I love how she pretty much knows that if her time comes her child will take in the cookatoo.
She such a good mom, and owner teaching her baby to be gentle with the parrot, and teaching the parrot to love and not be jealous of the baby
Beautiful- life long guardian angels to look out for each other.
This woman is such a fun mom!
A great pet that will grow old in the best way.
Please see my KZhead💕🌈
And you thought you had one child! Just amazing how animals sense the little ones.
Teaching a child to learn animals is a wonderful blessing well done
I want to see an update a couple years from now to see how the two are getting along. This brings joy to my heart 💗💗💗
Really parrots are smarter than they appear...I remember having one in SA he's named clever
Hi! Late reply, but if you have Instagram, and haven't followed them already, I believe they are on there! Their account is marnithecockatoo
What a wonderful and wise mother, teaching her child kindness and respect for a fellow creature. I loved that she referred to Marni as Remi's brother and was envisioning them spending their lives together. It gives me great hope to see people becoming increasingly aware that we are not superior to any other creature and that we must protect and cherish all life and teach our children this fundamental lesson. I find animal cruelty (any cruelty) unbearable and pray for the shift in our collective consciousness that will finally take us from this psychopathic age into the empathetic, operating at the highest vibrational level which is love.
Hi Christina hope you're okay?
Well said!
Yet they are still wild creatures, wait till it takes a finger or eye…birds can turn on a dime in a split second!
@@paulaa.7798 What a stupid comment. What point are you ineptly trying to make? To clearly state my view, I believe that if you choose to bring an animal into your environment you have to accept all consequences; you can never and should never blame an animal for behaving as their nature dictates. However, I do believe that the majority of animals should be left in their natural environment and away from humans, as in terms of viciousness we have done much more deliberate and intentional harm to the whole of the animal kingdom than any species has ever done to us, therefore, what right do we have to judge or think ourselves above any fellow creature?
Mother teaches her child empathy and compassion for his lifelong friend❤
This is a sweet story. I've never seen a baby and a cockatoo together. It's good to teach children to respect and love animals at an early age, which is what you have done.
I almost started crying of how cute this was. 😭🥰
both of them laying on their backs...laughing together...sooooo sweet! I wish i had such a pretty bird friend! Those eyes!!!!
I love how this woman shows her child how to be around animals and also worries about who will take care of a animal that lives so long, even after she’s gone
Cockatoos are very smart birds and they also let you know when they like you. I literally had one climb down from her cage just to affectionately nibble at my fingers, and yes it seemed she wanted me to pet her because she stopped nibbling at my fingers when I pet her.
So heartwarming! Its weird how parrots are so tolerant of children
That's great seeing parents really integrate animals into children's lives.
I watch Dodo everyday , it's like a stress reliever Love u Dodo
I watch frequently, as well!
True
Same here
Do sweet letting them Bond. They will be best friends for life.
40yrs old and I don't have kids... but if I ever do, I want them to grow up with pets. That is one of the things I cherished the most in my childhood. You learn so many valuable lesson from it.
Ok...I’ve never seen anything so precious.
So adorable. Loved seeing the parrot bears and Marni standing among them
So neat to see parents integrating animals into a childs life so early. They are giving that child the gift of empathy and shows the little one that they need to be treated with love and RESPECT. BEAUTIFUL❤️
