  • Here's a glitch. In the first silent hill game to get the good ending you have to collect this red liquid and throw it on Cybil during the amusement park fight. Well before that if you wander around the amusement park, you can find a ghost baby... I think its by a snack stand and only appears briefly. Well, you can throw the liquid on it instead. It makes the game freak out and skips the fight.

    • @@minecraftylogan6531 There are lots of programs that work for various games and systems, which let you have full control over the camera. There's also usually at least one out-of-bounds glitch in most games that lets you get the character themselves out and explore where solid. Games with characters that can fly are golden opportunities for this; I do it in LEGO games all the time. Varies with the game and its system.

    • I stayed in the level too long , come to find out. Went to an elevator to exit the level and somehow made a wall behind me as I stepped off the lifting platform. I knew there was something different from the last times I had been through that level, because when you turn the corner to hit the exit switch you can see a bit of the lower level u just came from...this time it was a smidge of highlighter green. So I turned completely around and backed up to bring it into full picture and there it was... I remember it like it was yesterday, I was 14...I'm 31 now. It's a bit tricky to recreate, but possible. It's also in other levels as well as another that is grey w black writing that says "I suck at making scripts"

  • As a programmer I can explain the whirlpool in horizon zero down... it’s probably a feature or animation they were testing as either forgot to remove it or the more likely is that removing it would do something in the code that would break something else in the game so instead of removing it and rebuilding that chunk they disguised it as a part of the map they could have put it under a floor or something but some extra seenary couldn’t hurt so they kept it

    @thatoneguymccool1469@thatoneguymccool14696 жыл бұрын
    • also as a programmer, often the level designers are asked to include certain doors, walls, sections of corridor etc that are blocked off and inaccessible to the player, sometime which don't really make much sense within the base game at release. When players get OoB and see these, they usually think something was cut during development. Often, this isn't so much a case of "cut content", but rather a design team brainstorming lots of potential additional story Expansion or DLC for later creation (most of which will never be used), and making sure there are ways in the game for these areas to be opened up later in ways that make story and logical sense.

      @gracewood6768@gracewood67685 жыл бұрын
    • As someone who has worked in a mix of IT/IS/Development environments for about 10 years now at various large companies that you would know by name, I can attest that just because someone doesn't know English well doesn't mean they don't know how to write code. To accuse someone of not being a programmer because of their grammar is downright ridiculous. I have been to many a programmer "farm" where most of them don't even speak English and are just given a project to work on by a project leader, not even knowing what the code they are writing will be used for ultimately. Some of these people have never used a computer and wouldn't know how to do so much as change their desktop backgrounds, they have literally just been taught to write code, that's it. There are companies that have huge rooms full of people on work visas from the middle east that aren't even allowed into the rest of the building. They come to code for 8 hours a day and then go back to wherever they sleep at night while sending money home overseas to their families. It is cheap labor for the companies, and the money these people make goes a long way in their countries, so in a way it's win win. Don't just assume you know what you are talking about when you call people out online, you end up looking like a jackass.

    @Leiria65@Leiria656 жыл бұрын
    • True, for the most part the mechanics are flawless. There are some serious inconsiderations Neversoft made though during normal gameplay, like the clip I showed where just sketching the vehicle on the freeway on THUG2 takes you out of the level. Not sure how they missed that one.

      @oddheader@oddheader6 жыл бұрын
    • Tbh I also never noticed the sketching glitch in THUG2, simply because there's no reason to do it up there, and Ialmost always instantly try to trigger the earthquake anyways.

    • That makes sense. It is fairly out of place, though I can provide many examples in THUG2 of easy ways to break the game (like by simply spraying painting specific spots), but I'll save that for another video.

  • The Halo 2 thing is actually pretty common. These days i believe most skyboxes are a lot less simple, but games from around that time almost always had that little box/etc out somewhere. There were actual maps in some custom CSS/Gmod/etc levels where you could get into the skyboxes intentionally, and as a result people in the main map would see you running about out there.

  • You can find the glitch in Halo, in Gmod as well. If you load any map (I think) in multiplayer sandbox and fly upwards until you find a sort of mini model-looking version of the map you're playing in, players in the normal area will see see you as a giant outside the play area.

  • In the first mission in Battlefield 3, you can get out of the map and find a fully functional helicopter that you can actually drive and use to have some fun killing enemies and finding misterious textures through out the unfinished sections of the map. The strange thing about it, is that multiplayer is the only time you can actually pilot that helicopter. You never do it in the campaign mode. Also, it is undestrutible!

  • Hey. I once played a demo of "The unfinished swan" on ps3 and i saw an inaccessable easter egg. When you get outside for the first time theres a wall right in front of you. walk towards it and then turn left. Then walk untill you are stopped by water. If you look into the distance there's a sign with text on it. It's too far away to read :c. I don't know if ps3 emulation software is able to emulate the game at all and even if it can then you still need cheats to get there since the water respawns you. I hope someone takes this information and investigates. Anyways great video!!

    @walter3738@walter37386 жыл бұрын
    • That sounds really interesting and the exact kind of suggestions I'm looking for. I've been wanting to do a series where I solely investigate this kind of stuff. I actually played the unfinished swan ps3 demo and I never noticed that. I'll have to dig and see if I can find this, put it another video, give you a shout!

  • My favorite easter egg area was in World of Warcraft Vanilla. You could sneak into Mt. Hyjal a completely unfinished zone. There was a cute little "under construction" sign and then some nice details like the giant tree that would be there in the future. My favorite part was that this zone was in development during Vanilla however it was not actually a legit place until 3 expansions in! There was also the GM island if you swam out in a specific way into the Maelstrom (giant sea storm) but it was patched out of live and I never saw it in person.

  • There's a hidden ceiling in the Quake 2 map called "The Edge". It takes a pretty big rocket+grenade jump (or similar) to reach it, and I honestly don't recall how I ended up there the first time. I did manage to jump up there a few times later on. It's not a very useful spot though, as you're easily seen and killed once people realize they have to look up to see the "angry bird". I also found a weird place to hide under the lava in a certain Quake 1 map, but I forgot which one. And it hurts to get in and out of that place, so it's also not very useful.
