@@WatchTeeShrink I travel throughly through mexico and I'm black and my girlfriend is a Mexican citizen and I have traveled extensively alone to "non" tourist areas all over Mexico. Mexico is more "cash driven" versus race, and yes it is intimidating until you understand. I don't feel I was lucky, but I do speak some Spanish.

I have been living in Chihuahua, Mexico for a long time, and it safe. I have driving all the way to Guatemala and at night without a problem. Just stay on toll roads, that’s where you are most protected. Unfortunately in your case, what the aduana did was all legal, you accidentally didn’t get the correct paperwork when entered and traveling through Mexico and now you have to get your vehicle legally back. Don’t be scared, you are more protected than most locals so just go through it legally, just make sure you or someone that knows Spanish reads the paperwork correctly before signing anything. If you need help translating or anything, I can help.

Yeah, I also lived in Chihuahua for one year. My family and I lived in a nice house, in an enclosed area with security, with a swimming pool and all. HOWEVER, we did not leave the house so we would not be seing people hanging from the bridges, or heads on the pavement, not to mention the possibility of being hit by an accidental bulled as we could, unwittingly, drive by a shoot out, a very popular occurrence in Chihuahua at the time.
They just doing this for views.

You two are not consciously causing this episode in your lives but your beliefs and consequent actions do have influences. You mentioned something about astrology directing your path. I advise you to believe in God and follow the teachings of His bible and surprise yourself with the changes you'll see. Don't follow astrological divinations. Deut 18:14 says: "(...) the LORD your God has not permitted you to do so." And Isaiah 47:13-15 NIV. says: "All the counsel you have received has only worn you out. Let your astrologers come forward, those stargazers who make predictions month by month, (...). Surely they are like stubble; ..." And have faith in His love for you... you will get your van back.

I believe this may be true that a Notary is higher up on the ladder than an Attorney in Mexico. That may be why the Attorney had said that regarding needing the Notary. I hope they don’t have your car keys and a proper tow truck was used. Good luck🤞

Hey y’all! To begin, I am happy you have an update, however, you mentioned the deadline of April 31st and I am mortified that you are being played with. April 31st isn’t even a real date. Also, there is a way for you to verify the attorney is actually licensed to practice law in Mexico. You can search for their name in the public database of professionals maintained by the Secretary of Public Education (SEP). Hopefully this provides you with a bit of relief that the person who you’ve been communicating with is real and on your side. With this, I still wouldn’t give him power of attorney, but at least you’ll have peace of mind knowing he a real lawyer lol

Sis I hope you don’t see this as negative. But if you know anyone that can travel with you all. It would be safer in numbers. You spoke in this video of multiple Red Flags. “Shady Lawyer, Driving a long distance to get back to the lawyer, 4-6 mths to verify what they can verify in 10 mins, The stars are not in your favor”. The magic word that you said multiple times “I Don’t Trust”. I would start a “Live” to use as a security recording, during your drive to the lawyer. This way the whole net can witness any wrongful stops. Keep in mind they know you’re coming! May God be with you both on your decision. ✝️

You need a Notary becuse that is what Mexico demands to prove he is actually working for you. An illegal person can say he's your Lawyer with out your permission and take your Van.

What the sttorney asked you for is called a "limited power of attorney" which you would probably need in the US as well. Put in the sppropriate limits, appoint him as your agent for this one job (getting your van back) and make sure that is notarized, with a seal not just a stamp, if you can.

You have gone through so much and hopefully you can get it all resolved. However, I would think twice about returning to Mexico to get your van. I know the van has special meaning to you both, but is it worth your safety. Sometimes a setback is time for a reset. It’s hard to take a loss but perhaps let it go and begin a new journey. Notaries are attorneys with additional education. They are higher than an attorney. So, he may be an attorney but he's not a notary attorney. So yes, you will need a notary attorney in this case. Bureaucracy is crazy here. It takes a lot to do simple things let alone something as complex as this. POA, where it's tough. We had to do a few uncomfortable things to get things quickly processed since being here - from turning on utilities to buying a car to buying a home. He will need some power to get things done because he will have to act quickly when they do make a decision or that van is gone. Limited poa with strict parameters is key that outline duties prepared by another attorney may help

Yes, some negative comments can cause one to open their eyes and reevaluate their life plans. So many people want to be nomads or travel the world but you must have your finances in order. One small order like this should not bankrupt a person, especially two people. People are using GoFundMe as a way to get other people to finance their poor decisions when they can get a job like most of the people they are asking for help from. I paid my dues and worked until I had enough money to live off of for several years without working and enough income passive income to support my lifestyle while traveling. There is no way, as an adult with a husband, I could ask people to give us their hard-earned money to support us while we live a "free" life. So many people these days live in Delulu land instead of reality. They have a GoFundMe but in a recent video they are now asking people to pay to get information about their van being confiscated by joining their KZhead membership, which is $9.99 per month, and all throughout the comments sections, whenever they reply to someone, they are asking them to please subscribe. It's just too much and is not a good look for them. SMH

It is standard legal practice to sign a power of attorney when an attorney represents you for legal purposes. Sometimes they can be simply signed but some countries require that you have a notarized general power of attorney. It isn’t something you should be afraid of. I process them all the time. Unless you don’t trust your attorney. Did you contact the Mexican Bar Association, which is called the Barra Mexicana Colegio de Abogados. They can confirm whether the attorney is licensed to practice law in Mexico and is a member of the bar. You can contact them through their website or by phone.

Ok so this time I read all the comments and replies first and then I watched the video. There is one comment that NO ONE dropped and I will say it first... Faustino, stop interrupting Tenaj 😂🤣 Just sit and listen... when they both are both speaking at the same time its actually a beautiful flow, there you have it everyone, just watch how they flow together👍 So you two didn't have much time between them confiscating your home (van) to the chance of it getting thrown to auction soon to even sit and shake it off first then gather all info and complete paperwork and an attorney all by carefully thought out decisions of you two without rush. Personally I would do what I could to get my van back. To leave it is a great loss. Sending positive vibes your way and on this journey. It is customary to have a Notary involved in your process. You may want to confirm with the notary that your attorney is in fact a lawyer (if you need confirmation). Also, I would suggest getting involved with vanlife groups that travel through Mexico. I love Mexico (it's my 2nd home) but know that things can be tricky there. Again safe travels and positive vibes on this next part of your journey. Also, notify the American consulate here in the USA that you are going back.

Our hearts really go out to you both.We planned on going in a few months but because of what is happening to you and the people at Eat,See,RV getting stopped 3 times in less than 5 hours and being extorted for money we will not be visiting Mexico at all.Until solutions are put in place to speed up this process of getting your property returned and without facing punishing monetary charges plus consiiderations for all your unnecessary expenses we cannot go back to Mexico even though we love Mexican people and want to visit, it seems the risk is now just too high for personal safety and retaining property which is also our home.This confiscation was unnecessary to say the least.We are watching what happens here and encouraging the swift return of your property and an apology in the form of reimbursement of all your expenses.

Hello. Experienced Mexico driving traveller here.( KC, Laredo, Monterrey, Mazatlán, Cuernavaca, Mexico City and back to KC in Missouri.) The Spirit may have sent me your channel. Long story short...CarFax report got my TIP denied. Last insurance claim for car minor car damage was valued more than car. They paid me out and reduced me to liability. Didn't tell me they report to CarFax, Total Loss. Would not let me enter. They have an entire list of categories your vehicle cannot have stated in CarFax. CarFax=Bible. Recommend you order your current report so you don't have any surprises, like me.

Don't stop traveling, just travel smarter. I travel solo and/or with two dogs. On one occasion I was physically attacked. Anther time I was robbed of all of my money, and passport. I had to pay bribes in Mexico. I had a Federali (before they were dis-banned) jump into my van and demand a ride!! This was after he demanded a bribe. The stories go on and on. I will move to Panama later this year. I decided against Mexico due to the pervasive corruption. Good Luck!!
