I'm riding in a 35mph zone, see a cop and let off the throttle while checking my speed. A dumbass in what looks like an Audi proceeds to pass me over the double yellow RIGHT in front of the cop. I had just checked my mirrors 5 seconds before the intersection and he was nowhere in sight.
That was a really long "Drive of Shame" to reach a pull out. The driver had plenty of time to reflect on his poor decision making skills.
Are you making popcorn on that bike?!
Haha, i loled
+Rosy Posy best comment award goes to
Lol
+Rosy Posy thank you for that laugh
+Rosy Posy It may be possible since the pipes do get really hot.
LOL. Finally, a cop around when you want one.
***** yet when the government stages another theater shooting, 4 cops have a response time of under 60 seconds....lol
+MrLeonard55 Holy John Lennon Batman,,!!! "Instant Karma Gonna Get you".!!LOL
Aaron Price Well actually, that comment wasnt even about the batman shooting. So the fact that you dont even know the details of the situation your brother was in tells me your lying. Secondly, a staged event can still involve real people that die /gasp!
fucking bike passed on double yellow 1st.. wtf
+Insight my bad, just rewatched. Car was pulling into a driveway.
first motorcycle on youtube that does not speed, wheelie,or dangerous driving. i am impressed..
Actually he overtook a car illegally the lines arnt dotted so :/
Um he passed kinda close to the car, I would be pissed too.
Is what it is, improper passing and improper lane change. He just didnt get caught.
Apparently you have no license as biker did nothing illegal
where did i say he did something illegal???
That looks like a REALLY fun road for a bike... minus the dangerous douches. Few and far between, I hope.
Well I wouldn't want to pass someone on one of those curves! xD
Marin and Sonoma Counties have great rides in the backcountry.
It's an Audi! OH, I'M SURPRISED! (not)
***** ...are you suuuuure? LOL.
***** hmmmmmmmm *inspecting*
ComandanteJ only thing worse is a Prius
BMW drivers are *pretty* bad.
Seiko The Neko Worst drivers on the road.
so annoying when there is no place to pullover lol
Frosty4Real you must get pulled over alot
I love it when this happens to shitty drivers. I had something similar happen the other day. I'm going 20 in a school zone and some jackass decided I was going to slow and passed me on double solid lines. An officer was hiding in a somewhat wooded area and chased right after him after he saw the guy pass me.
Dude where ever you live it's beautiful!
Solaire of Astora Somewhere in California, That's a California CHP haha
Solaire of Astora If he wasn't driving on the wrong side of the road that could be here in NZ (we drive on the left hand side) The country side looks fantastic.
He's headed southbound Hwy 1 in Marin County, CA. Just south of Stinson Beach. Lots of bicyclists on that road coming down from that windy road, so a very illegal and dangerous pass. I was actually passed by a bicycle in the same location going opposite direction.
11happychap New Zealand? heard it is beautiful there for sure. and gotta love those beautiful kiwi women!
cruiz4242 every time I see a beautiful road with double yellow line in the middle, I find out, it's California, hwy 1 or Yosemite. :)
We've got a code red, low-speed chase. This guy is tearing up the road, he's gotta be doin at least 25! Man he's about to kill someone!
+Alex O'Boyle Oh my goodness! He's pulling over! This is unheard of in a low-speed chase!
That is one beautiful road for biking.....
Southbound CA-1 from Muir Beach. Yes, the road is glorious
A bit different on an E-Glide ;-)
All of our indigenous lands are beautiful..... when I drive around California delivering organs, I am always amaze by the beauty
Highway 1 in Marin and Sonoma Counties is good for this as well as the back roads in the area.
My favorite kind of dash cam video. The poetic justice/instant karma. Thanks :o)
Nothing better than a little instant justice!
His laugh at 0:43 tho haha
i loved it. it reminded me of the little pet of jabba the hut in star wars. "salacious crumb"
I need to watch this every Monday before i go to work, puts a smile on my face!
I don't think he was fleeing, simply looking for a safe place to pull over
While speeding in and of itself is not necessarily dangerous, passing a bike on a double yellow on a narrow road is borderline reckless driving. I'm guessing from the CHP position he was also running radar, so the guy got a double whammy.
Maybe triple... I guarantee the Audi driver didn't signal when pulling out to pass.
I'd pay extra road tax to have access to such superb mountain roads !! It reminds me of the original Need For Speed and the wonderful fictional roads there that made the game so famous.....nice video man.
Jose Leyva for real
It's that double yellow line, kids. Not worth a head-on collision. Never.
It's interesting that while the car passing was breaking the law (I presume anyway), it was a fairly safe place to do so, plenty of visibility. The cop on the other hand passed on a blind corner.
bike was also pulled over far enough for the cop to get by, yes its still a double yellow, but otherwise the cop cant get up to the car at all!
jhardy66617 The cop car was well into the oncoming lane. If oncoming traffic came around that corner, it would have been a potentially fatal situation. Sure, it would have meant that the cop wouldn't have been able to catch the guy as quick, but should that be the cops primary concern? Should the cop be seriously endangering people's lives to ensure others don't slightly endanger people's lives for a few seconds longer?
in north america particularily the states police have, during a situation, 100% unlimited authority and can literally do anything they want, their actions are subject to review after the fact but in the moment they have next to no restrictions. which is why stuff like this occurs.
you also cant pass near a bend. and the bigger issue is the safety concerns the officer created.
Yeah, I really wanted to see a car turn that corner straight into the grill of the cop car.
So let's pull over the car in the worst possible blind curve lol. That could've turned out bad.
That's the first thing I thought, cop passing around a curve and going up a hill.
Does anyone know why the USA has so many "no passing" double yellow line zones but many small roads in Europe let you pass, even if visibility isn't great? Do American drivers really suck or is it just for safety reasons?
Both :)
You're experiencing what's called confirmation bias. You're establishing your views through selective KZhead videos, which quite frankly, is pretty ignorant. As an American who has driven all around the country for decades, I can tell you not all roads have double lines preventing you from legally passing. Quite the opposite, in fact.
Those two reasons and because Americans will sue anything that is possible to sue.
I have seen enough close calls in Europe from people passing on blind hills or corners.
Steven Stringer What an ignorant comment. I've explained how neither of those guesses are correct, and Americans aren't as lawsuit happy as you've been brainwashed by the media to think. Don't be a tool.
in all fairness, little more on the gas grandpa
My guess as a motorcyclist myself......is he knows where the usual speed traps are.
Mike Patton sounds likely, can't argue with that
letthebutthurtbegin and he says in the description he lets go of the throttle due to the cop being there
Kris Kiley Mystery solved. Well done.
+letthebutthurtbegin yea when he got overtook the speed limit was 35, good speed trap there
You can see the police car on the side of the road. Perfect timing!
wheres a cop when u need them...oh wait there he is lmao
I was expecting you to do a tap tap tap on the horn as you passed them.
That looks like an amazing driving road!
Oh, this just makes my heart GLEE!!!!
Typical Audidriver, always want to overtake, even if it's not allowed, always speeding.
I'm sorry officer, i didn't know i couldn't do that
I actually did know I could do that. muhuhahaha! - Chip
@@WoWdropzone I love the Chip and Dave driving stories.
That cop made it much more dangerous to pass on a curve where he couldn't even see oncoming traffic. Someone teach that cop car how to drive safely.
The way most cops are when it comes to motorcycles I am surprised he didn't pull you over for making the car pass you.
That was a really dangerous pass by the cop. Nothing to do with it being a double yellow, but he was half way into the opposite lane on a left bend. If someone had been coming the other way...
It was actually quite safe since the rider waved him past, moved to the right, decelerated and indicated.
And that would make any oncoming vehicles magically disappear?
ActionSamuel Never overtake on a blind bend.
Sir, it's in 'Murica. What does dangerous mean?
Bob 'MURICA FUCK YEAH
that person took forever to pull over BUT i think i would of done the same and waited tell i saw a side road to pull over on considering that road was so narrow
+Brett Fletchall Roads like that make me more nervous than someone tailgating a motorcycle.
at least he passed on a straight away, the cop passing during that turn was dangerous as all hell.
That laugh tho haha
Thats a good cop, doing his job
I'm fairly new to driving, do you have to wait for a suitable area to pull over in on roads similar to that one?
Yes there was only room for 2 cars on a two way street. If there isn't enough room for cars to pass you in the same lane then you should find a spot to pull off the road.
guncluts I think the question was in reference to pulling over, not passing, as the shoulder wasn't wide enough to park.
Boomdamoboombry If someone can't pass you without braking the law or endangering other people then yes you should wait to find a suitable spot. There was that more clear?
If you are unable to pull over, slow down, put on your 4-ways, and look for a place to stop. You never want to make a traffic stop worse by pulling over in a dangerous area.
yea id assume if there is no where to pull over u must keep on going till you find a off road or more suitable location to pull over!
Always makes you happy inside.
Damn!! What camera do you use?? Just so I know what NOT to buy!!
This video needs the cops theme playing.
You should have honked when you passed them
ilegal to honk for no good reason
The "yellow plague" is everywhere in the USA. It's a vicious circle. The vast majority of drivers don't have the experience to be able to pass safely on a two lane road, so when they do try it, it's done dangerously, leading the authorities to ban passing on even more roads! This ends up with drivers getting so frustrated, they take a chance. Drivers in Europe are vastly more experienced with being able to overtake, and do so frequently, leading them to be very much more experienced. You can tell when drivers lack experience... they accelerate when being passed. And this is standard practice in America.
That's because the people being passed are assholes who don't understand that if they weren't going slow to begin with, we wouldn't be passing them up!
In the old days you could accelerate 20mph above the posted speed limit when passing on a two lane highway. I don't think that holds true today.
George Martin thatd be awesome, id be doing 75 in some places to pass :D law as i understand it is your not supposed to go over the speed limit while passing anyway, but theyll usually let you get away with a few because they already go 5 over
jhardy66617 I hate when people take like a whole minute to pass someone, it's like really yall two are in my way will some one speed up or slow the fuck down so i can get through?!? Lol i can't wait to get me a bike. I'ma just drive on the side lanes to pass people
rodeo o except the double yellow was orrigionally instituted as a strong sugestion it was made mandatory long after its institution because too many drivers were making bad passes, europeans are better drivers but youre right thats irrelevant. the states have double yello lines because most american drivers are to stupid to pass safely
What a beautiful road for a ride. I first though you were going to be pulled over when the white vehicle pulled off and you went around him! Glad that wasn't the case. Guess the old adage of "Where's a cop when you need one" came through.
That was exciting, now I'm going to watch some paint dry and see which is more entertaining
Alistair Kendall sameeeeee
Alistair Kendall comment of the year!
This is the slowest high speed pursuit since southpark. Cop, pull over. Audi being followed, never... I shall flee at the speed limit. haha
+Dicky Mint high speed pursuit? Fleeing? Are you joking? They had no place to pull over. Its fucking unreal how youtube kids make up so much shit.
+nicetry64 KZhead kid, I'm 27 you plebb. It's called sarcasm and it is a small but integral part of a full sense of humour you simpleton!
Dicky Mint your prove my point. Fucking youtube KID. Dumb little boy. Sarcasm? Nah, you are a dumb kid that actually thinks it was a pursuit. Fucking kids get the fuck off of youtube.
+Dicky Mint Kids aimirite
THE BOSS Dude had you read the comment properly you'd see I said "at the speed limit" are you having a ratty moment before your ritalin kicks in little one?!
I went to traffic school years ago, in California, and it was 8 hours (or 6, it was a long time ago). A guy had to take several classes because he was sentenced to 24 hours total for doing the exact same thing--passing someone on the double yellow on one of the canyon roads in the L.A. area that goes to the beach.
I always appreciate a nice safe bike ride like what you were doing in the video. Not needing to go fast, but, rather just enjoying the scenery and obeying the law.
Nice, safe bike ride? He just tore around a car like a prick!
Copper passed on a double solid too. Where is his ticket.?
***** If someone break into your house with a no trespassing sign, I guess the cop has to call the home owner to see if he can enter the yard to arrest the burglar lolz
Yes Shon Dee, here's how that works. When the people of the state decided they wanted traffic laws, they also said officers are exempt from the rules of the road when they are in pursuit of an actual or suspected violator of the law. In California, where this occurred, you might want to look up section 21055. It can be found if you go to the DMV website.
Cops still aren't allowed to put other people in danger. This cops overtook on place with very little visibility into the bend. I mean cops are also allowed to cross a red light, but if they do it in a town at 60 MPH the're using that exemption in the wrong way.
The question had to do with the legality of the move, not the safety aspect. It's legal because the law says it can be done. Obviously it's never safe to pass anyone when parallel-median yellow painted lines are in place. More facts are needed, (radio communication for example). Mathematically it's possible to make a 7 foot lateral movement at 90 feet per second when you have 4 seconds of view, (the perspective behind the motorcycle). I'm sure someone working this sleepy little hovel everyday for years probably has a better understanding of the traffic volume, (given the fact only 3 vehicles total were seen during the entire video. I'm also certain no one would say anything if it was a fire truck. If I was a cop I wouldn't have stoppped it. Sure the guy on the bike would have a "the cop didn't do anything" story to put on youtube vice but that's better than being called a reckless person. Either way is a catch 22.
Your right he had his flashers on, but the bike passed on a solid line, didnt see that the 1st time view.
lol m8 that was pro
gr8 b8 m8, rate it 8.8/8.8
Mike Hunt don't wanna like your comment to ruin the 8 likes lol
hahaha
That does not happen often enough! I love your laugh when the cop blast by after the car. It must be understood in that part of the country that if you can't pull over and not block the road (safety?) that you keep going until you can. That was the longest I ever seen it take for a driver to pull over!
where is this? it looks like Ortega Highway in So Cal
IMO the action taken by the cop was more dangerous than what was done by the car he was chasing. The car had what appeared to be a clear line of sight and the cop passed at high speed on a blind corner. Its ok though he has immunity.
dont worry, he went to the police academy he's a trained driver at high speeds :P
Ryukey can he see through hills too?
Ranstead Moons It was on the flats that the cop passed .... Sheesh.
Ranstead Moons Maybe I think thats the super advanced course which is optional.
Yes u are right the cop is the true idiot here.how reckless of him.if the bike couldn't see through the hills to make the pass imagine how blind the cop car is when he must have been easily 31 more yards behind :( that's awful.he should have points on his license and wreckless driving ticket!
The bike rider is so awesome lol
Lol I saw the same thing last summer. I was driving to a park I was slow because the place was infested with cops, then a guy over takes me. There's a police officer on the side of the road say "sir pull over" I was laughing so hard
See, there are some good cops out there.
At least he overtook you on the straight, unlike the cop who was approaching the bend
what road is that? Lenny '75 BMW R90/6, Piaggio MP3 400
How long were you tailgating the car before he generously let you by🤔🤔
Didn't save time, wasn't a hero, lost a lot of money. What a great outcome.
the one thing everyone seams to have missed is that the rider passing the car in the beginning rides the yellow lines while passing. so what if he did or didn't get into that left lane to go around a car that was stopping . the problem is when you do something like that its giving car drivers the impression that you don't need the whole lane and it leads to drivers passing riders and not giving them the whole right lane as they go by. cars should always give motorcycle riders the same space they would give any other car so motorcycle riders should not cut through spaces too small for a car because it gives drivers the wrong impression
A driver should know driving rules. Don't make excuses for someone breaking the law lol
I've had close calls like this. On a freeway mostly. Rider's rear vision is even more restrictive on a superbike. Think about changing lanes, check mirror, think a bit more, WOOSH goes some car out of fucking nowhere.
What kind of motorcycle is this? I would be very interested in getting something like this (good mileage, low maintenance) for just relaxing riding or for commuting to and from work.
Can you tell us the location of that road? What city?
Car passed the motorcycle and crossed the double yellow line.
This video makes me smile. For every time someone did something stupid and I wished a cop was there to see it, I have this :)
I've watched this video a few times before and it never fails to make me laugh
is this hwy 1 in marin county?
One of those priceless feelings.
I'm in Oregon and maybe it's just me but the worst here are people driving any kind of Subaru WRX.. I swear every single idiot driving one has to put on the same loud obnoxious terrible sounding exhaust ever made and a douche whistle (small bore turbo blow off valve). Then they allllll tailgate and drive like they're in a Fast & Furious movie.. only most of them are terrible drivers so you always see them shuddering forward at every light and cringe hearing that poor clutch slip.. then once they finally get rolling they proceed to mash the throttle to red line as if it makes up for it.. only to slam on the brakes for the next light and then do it all over again.. I swear to god literally 95% of them do this.. I cry myself to sleep a lot because of how sad this is.
Keith Olsen Where I live, Subaru Impreza WRX/WRX STi's are really common (Make up about 10-15% of the car 'population') which seems low, but they're everywhere. Despite all of these Subaru's around, I hardly see any of them gunning it 24/7, or at all, for that matter...
hahaha that me if your wondering :)) which part of or I live in se portland
It's true, even where I live (Alaska), we get a lot of Subaru WRX drivers like that too. Which is a shame, because Subaru's are great cars. Luckily it is usually the turbocharged models with the biggest rap. I drive an Impreza myself. Other than the fact that it eats a quart of oil every month or two, it's a great car. I kind of wished I had a turbocharged one, like a WRX, but, hey, then I might turn into a douchebag driver.
This has to be highway one near dillons beach right? I love this drive probably my favorite one. The smell of the ocean and the temperature are perfect here.
You know that was a definite ticket especially after that long awkward drive to a safe stopping point.
no wonder you gave out that big giggle as the cop went past you to chase the guy in the car. I giggled at you giggling. Lmfao
Is this Ortega Highway ?
Yup...Saw that one coming. You must know the area and knew that cop would probably be there.
longest, most uncomfortable drive to a safe pull over spot just to get a ticket I have ever seen, bet they needed to be taken to the hospital for anxiety lol
is this hwy 1, in Marin County?
I like how the cop somehow thought that it was safe for him to pass on a solid double yellow around a blind corner also.
that looks like an awesome road to ride on
The cager's behavior dangerous. So glad there was a cop to set him straight! Car driver's dont respect anything on 2 or 3 wheels!
+bluemoonridingclub Not true! They also don't respect anything on 0 wheels.
That's one expensive piece of steering damper you got there.
I LOVE how you had the little chuckle. haha. i would've at least gave a couple beeps as i was passing the car being pulled over haha
The cop car could have waited till after the curve to overtake. Seems counter productive to overtake on a double yellow line to go and ticket someone for doing the same thing.
that chuckle was pure gold
California sierra foothills?
I like the popcorn maker on your bike. Was that optional or aftermarket?
where is this place located?
I'm assuming that, like the solid white lines we have her in the UK, you are not allowed to cross solid yellow lines in the middle of the road?
BedsitBob double yellow, two way traffic and no passing on either side.
Wow, the cop passed you in the middle of a blind corner. Good thing no one was coming the other way.
Is this a 93' dr250??? Instrument pannel looks IDENTITICAL to mine :D
what bike are you riding=
In cali, and many other states, its legal to pass any car on any road in any lane with a motorcycle. Its referred to as "lane splitting" and its 100% legal for a bike to be on the road completely parallel with a car in the same lane.
Warms my heart to see jackasses like that being pulled over and fined.
Do double yellow lines mean "no overtaking" in the States, or just a "helpful road direction indicator roughly in the middle of the road" as in Russia?
+buggertheusername no overtaking
This looks like Bodega Bay or Marin in Northern California
Love it. Thanks for sharing
Interesting that you had just committed the same violation 30 seconds earlier.
Outstanding! I had something like this happen to me when I was driving to work one day. I have about an hour drive work and this one moron was riding my ass for some reason. Before we drop out of the mountain and into the valley before the Nevada border (I-15 North bound). I know there is a CHP that always sits in this one spot. The person behind me backed off just before corner and then speeds way up to go around. He went around at about 85-90. I was between him and the shoulder when we came out of the corner and he didn't see the CHP sitting there. I was like YES!!!
What kind of bike was that? Looks almost like an enduro type crossover bike.
Sometimes order does get restored to the universe.
