  • She's the only reason I care to watch woman's gymnastics. There, I said it. Bold enough to state she will go down as being the greatest female gymnast ever.

    • Its true tho , all the succesful gymnasts never were like this , they were never unbeatable , someone would always come and win and a new cycle would start , but simone was on her throne for an entire quad without losing once since the us championship in 2013 despite falling sometimes.

  • I think the coach's goals are good ones, particularly for Simone to stay healthy. I know they liked to keep WOGA gymnasts rail thin, but we don't need any injuries. I'm glad Simone still looks like Simone. We all know she can win and it is important for her to pace herself.

    • Well Laurent and Cecile had 2 main elites Madison and Alyssa. Alyssa always seemed like she had a normal athletic body, and I think Madi might just be skinny but muscular by nature. Look at her now, even after she stopped elite and went to UCLA she still looks about the same. So I highly doubt that was influenced by the landi's.

      @johnrayescala9491@johnrayescala94916 жыл бұрын
    • Heather Penn I think time away from the gym could bring her back even stronger. A break can do wonders for anyone, but for a gymnast who does 'miss out' on many 'normal' things as a teenager, travel & new experiences can bring a fresh perspective and maturity to her work. It already looks like it!

  • Laurent is my new fave. The minute he said “People think she is not human...” that tug at my heart. I side-eyed so many in the gym community ESPECIALLY Tim Daggett for forgetting that during the Games and the years leading up to it. Laurent understands that she is a “regular person” with an EXTRAORDINARY talent and he seems to help her understand her limits instead of setting them for her. There is a new lightness and freedom there you can see as opposed to before. I wasn’t excited for this partnership because I felt Simone would get bored or burnt out but I’m glad I watched they have me excited for this quad not just for the new skills but for what I am sure will be a Renaissance for our sport more specifically for USA Gym. Lord knows we need it.

    • Jhilton 70 we will see. These judges love girls with nice long lines. I really don't see it. I hope he proves me wrong. She's a powerful gymnast no doubt but I just don't see a bar routine for her body type that the judges would like. Be mindful we are all humans.

      @TheMajesticice01@TheMajesticice016 жыл бұрын
    • M.Derrick judges don't have to like anything.. They give credit for skills if it's executed properly, they deduct points if mistakes are done. Nothing more. Simone doesn't have the long lines, but it never stopped her on beam or floor. It won't stop her on bars if she improve her difficulty. She was already pretty clean on bars, and I have no doubt she will be even cleaner with Landy as a coach.

    • Simone used to score 8.8~9.0 in execution which is pretty high. I think he built a 6.0+ bars routine for her, and she is looking cleaner than before. She just need to be the 2nd American to be in the UB finals, because anyone scoring above 14.8 will make the finals.

  • She is such a beautiful person. Her body and her muscles are insane, but her personality and her attitude are what make her truly special. She's addictive. She's so humble and sweet, you can't help but fall in love with her, and then you see what she's capable of and can't help but want her to win and succeed. If she's already looking this amazing and she just started training again, I cant wait to see what the next Olympic games hold for her.

I can't wait to see her take home gold again! USAG produces stars! I would like to see the agency get back on track! I love Simone and all the gymnasts USAG!

  • The coach talked about her being human. I wasn't sure about that until I seen a couple videos where she fell. Then I know she really was human. But what she does? Is superhuman. And that smile of hers. Who couldn't love her just for that?

  • I wonder if Ashton is trying to make the Olympics as a bars specialist? Hopefully she can upgrade her beam significantly so that she is also competitive on that apparatus as a second choice.

    @mjamitche5245@mjamitche52456 жыл бұрын
    • Don't think so, specialists are no longer since the team now will be 4 girls with all scores counting on each event

      @tomgallowitz4464@tomgallowitz44646 жыл бұрын
    • yeah but it's 4 girls that compete for the team final, plus 2 individual gymnasts. If she's competitive enough on bars she could snag one of the individual spots.

      @jennaritchie1862@jennaritchie18626 жыл бұрын
    • Tom Gallowitz its 4 for the team but they will be able to have 2 specialist for individual as well.

      @MissLisaSwann@MissLisaSwann6 жыл бұрын
    • But now they also have 2 spots just for specialists, that they can qualify for through other events. I think if Ashton can get healthy, it's the perfect opportunity for her, because I don't see her getting strong enough on another event to make the regular team (and at this point all 4 who make it will need to be all arounders)

      @carolineblueskies@carolineblueskies6 жыл бұрын
    • They do have 2 specialists spot, she will not compete in the TF tho.
