❤️ These two, 12 week old kittens were born on a rubbish tip and had to fend for themselves, after their mother disappeared, presumed dead. Because of the unpopularity of black cats, I wasn't sure, if I'd be able to get them, their fairy-tale ending. ❤️

My dad adopted a senior black cat from a rescue a few years ago. She'd been stuck in the shelter for months without a single person showing any interest in her because of her colour and age. My dad instantly fell in love with her and she's now a very happy, spoiled kitty! Black cats deserve more love.

most shelters here in the U.S. will not adopt out black cats during october because evil people want them for torture and sacrifice. i have 2 rescues; one is black. i always keep a black cat.

Hello, I'm Alan from New York City (borough of Brooklyn)... when I moved here there were just so many homeless cats in my neighborhood..I worked with a rescue agency and did my best to capture as many of them as I could and toget them to shelters where --I could only hope-- they would find safe homes. I wound up adopting five of them, all of whom became my loving family of felines: Charlotte, Rebecca, Cooper, and the two brothers St. Mark & St. Sehphen. This was now years ago and a all of them are now long gone. ButI now have a new family (Snowy & Mariko) both of whom I adopted from the New York City shelter system and are the loves of my life. I am sorry to preface my comment to with my own story, I just wanted to say how much I respect your courage & devotion to those two feral and tiny creatures, which I can only describe as saintly. Thank you so much for your devotion and courage in rescuing them, for domesticating them and caring for their helth needs, and for ultimately finding them a forever home.

Flatbush Cats is a wonderful cat rescue group, they have done TNR for a long time, i think they have actually built a clinic! as regards Brooklyn: above your library door, in place of honor over many favorites of American Literature, are archy and mehitabel, the colorful and wise residents of shinbone alley, still in print for over a century, written by Don Marquis with great hilarity and devastating insight into the plight of unwanted cats.

It's crazy to me that black cats are still so hard to get adopted in this era. They are beautiful house panthers and nothing to be afraid of. I would even say they are my favorite next to Torties. I have my own black, long haired cat named Darth Vader. The audacity of Billy to climb the curtains had me laughing. So glad that the brothers have a place in such a sweet animal and human family. Our dog also thinks she is a cat because she grew up with ours. She even grooms herself like them -- copying them. I have never seen a dog do that before.

I think what you do for these feral & unwanted cats (and kittens) is nothing short of commendable. Bravo my dear! These two reminded me of our own babies. Our tuxedo “Kitty” lived to be 19, was born of a feral mom on a back deck. Solid black “ Shiffer” showed up at an army base in Kentucky, and lived to be 20. When the base was deploying to Afghanistan, my son drove this “southern belle” 18 hrs to our home in upstate NY for us to take care of. He said she’d die if we didn’t take her as the entire base was being deployed, so no one would be left to feed her. We relented. Our two black cats loved each other so much! They both lived a long & happy life with us!

I did the same last year with a brother and sister pair. To give them the best chance I had them sterilised, vaccinated and microchipped. They were adopted together five weeks later. The very first cat I had as a child was a jet black kitten that my Dad bought home from the tip. There was a litter of them with no mum seen for days and my Dad and fellow tipper truck drivers each gave one of the kittens a new home. Thank you for all you do, it really matters.😸😸

I feel for little Bobby, so cautious yet protecting his little brother. So wonderful they have a lovely home together. I love black cats. People and their stilly supersitions don't know what they're mssing. My little black kitty MauMau appeared on my back porch in a snowstorm in 2014 at about 4 months old. Sweetest thing ever. Sadly, he had congental CKD and only lived 5 years. I miss him still.

Thank you for helping the kittens find a great home! We had a black cat when I was a teen. He was very sweet and loving, especially in his senior years. My husband and I now have a “standard-issue cat” (a greyish brown tabby) that was awarded to us by the Cat Distribution System when he was nine weeks old. (Shortly after we moved into our new home, he showed up crying in the brush at the end of our driveway.)

Just adopted 2yr old black male from our county rescue. He was terribly ill with a respiratory infection and had beenn left in the drp box with no info. They hesitated to let me take him but I knew he might not recover in the shelter. They let me take him along with his meds. He sneezed all over us for two weeks but finally recovered with lots of spoiling. He is a very good cat. Happy to have him in the family.
Bless you for the courage to withstand those little razor blades and not hold a grudge. The scars on my hands were also worth the pain those little scared kittens who finally know love and a forever home. We may not be able to save them all but for those we do save it means everything.
Somehow I managed to not get a single scratch or bite. Sorry to hear you weren't as lucky ❤

We rescued 2 black kittens 11 years ago who had been found in a disused factory. Like Billy & Bobby one was more wary than the other but now all these years later just looks at us every day with gratitude. We love our black furry friends ...they are so beautiful❤❤

I'm from the Netherlands and I work as a volunteer in an animal shelter where I take care of the cats once week. We always have black cats, but they don't stay here any longer than other color cats. I think they are very beautiful and their fur shines beautifuly when they sit in the sun. We are always very happy when we see "our" cats move into a home like Billy and Bobby or any home where they get lots of love. Good luck boys.

I took in a stray black cat that nobody wanted. He was very handsome, though always had a wild streak inside him. It wasnt always easy, but we persevered and he a had a good life.

I have a cat we took in off the streets now who was abandoned in the neighborhood and no one helped him for years . He's inside with me now and is so sweet. He was abused you can definitely tell , but I understand his ways. ❤️
