I object to putting tomatoes in goulash.
@@jarniwoop all the American Goulash I've eaten has had stewed tomatoes in it. I've now lived in Europe for a few years now, and its not a thing over here, but that isn't the point of Mr. Rollins channnel in my opinion.

Hi Mr Kent, My name is Megan. I'm 10 years old. I love watching your KZhead channel with my mom. I'm going to ask my mom to make this dinner.
Thanks Megan so much and tell your Mom thanks also
Good for you, Megan!
You're very polite and well spoken. Kudos to you and your parents for raising you right. It's a quality that you don't see that often these days. Have a great day Megan. 😁👍

Fun fact: Goulash (originally: Gulyás) means Cowboy in hungarian. The name of the original dish (that's a thick soup made on open fire) is "Gulyás leves" that means Cowboy soup. That was shortened to goulash in foreign languages.
Cool. Thank you for sharing that. That was and is interesting. I had no idea. God bless.

Kent, I tried this recipe, and my husband and I love it! In Sept 2022, my 37 year old son-in-law received news that his 2nd battle with cancer was about to begin. After he began cancer treatment, I made a batch of this goulash and took it to him and my daughter. This is about the only food he can eat due to nausea. So this lasts about 3 days. I am so thankful I found your delicious recipe. I never would have thought of what a blessed meal this would become... Thank you! *I wanted to add that this has become the dish I have ready for him each time after he has his chemo. I made a batch today, first meal he's been able to keep down. I will continue to make "Kent's Goulash" after each treatment. *September 15, 2023 I am saddened to share my precious son in law passed away. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 25, 2023. He fought long and hard. What an amazing young man. He leaves behind his wife and 2 and a half year old son.
So glad that everyone enjoyed and please tell him to stay strong and God bless you all
Hope all goes well.

Love my Cast Iron Cookware. The best for cooking in.
My main cast iron skillet was bought in March, 1968 and I use it almost daily. I also have one that has been in the family since 1955 and is a griddle that is used less often but is a treasured item.
Hungarian paprika is usually spicy & Spanish paprika is often mild. Hungarian Goulash is the bomb. I tried it at a restaurant in Toronto called The Black Tulip. Outstanding!

When we say "Hungarian" Goulash we are paying tribute to the contribution your people made to this country. Is it Hungarian? Hehehe, probably not, but we attribute it to you --we're paying our respects.
@@hadmatter9240 Original goulash (gulyás) is Hungarian (and me too). The original name gulyásleves means cowboy soup by the way, so "cowboy goulash" means "cowboy cowboy". I'm not kidding, you can look it up if you wish. :D

Thanks Kent for bringing back great memories of my childhood. Sometimes as kids we really don't understand to appreciate the best things in life.... Now as in a grown man I sure do miss my mom's goulash... When I was growing up we had goulash a lot. It was always a little bit different. We were pretty poor and lived off of stuff like rice, beans, and goulash. I haaated goulash as a kid. Thank you for making this content for us.
I have an aunt who went on her local PBS station during a fundraiser to promote a book of her hot dish recipes. One of her granddaughters had a husband that worked there and he asked her to put it together. We were kind of laughing about it because we knew how poor the family had been and that this had been a necessity for them. You put together whatever you had and hoped for the best. If it turned out good, you wrote it down for future reference. When she went on that show she had a whole 3 ring binder full of hot dish recipes. People were buying the books like crazy. If they only knew how they had really come about.
