  • glow plug it is made to work for a few seconds. Foe emergency it is ok, for a long time, the glow plug will burn quicly

    • Yes but it should be 10 Amp not less. However the glow plug can run down if kept on for too long whether you use a battery or adapter.

  • Idea is good but a flop one. Even though that cement can hold it fast, but it gets too hot and the pvc pipe melts very quickly, so this project is not worth wasting time. Yes I agree the plug does make a good soldering iron, but with the PVC pipe it is zero.

  • No sirve para soldar componentes Electrónicos....si te diste cuenta levanto las pistas, si lo pones un regulador de temperatura puede que funcione mucho mejor....pero así directo es mucha temperatura....la idea es buena pero hay que hacerle ajustes....

    • Yes, obviously it will drain the battery, because in cars, there are dynamos also to re - charge up the car battery, which is 12 volts and not less than 35 Amp. Here there is no back up for the battery, that drains.

  • In cost of 1 glow plug We can buy many soldring iron lots of soldring wire and flux So its not a proper solution If we get a free glow plug from somebody's garage its worthy

    • If you are using a battery, check how many Amperes the battery is and if you are using an adapter, make sure that it is at least 10 Amps, then it will glow.

    • Yes you are right, but the glow does work and light up. However like you said you need a heavy wire for it, to resist the heat.
