Get ready for log drills
Also get some 🐱 while you can because if you try that while you’re in then you will find out just how easy it is for you to get in some serious trouble. Not to mention it will just be a whole sausage fest during those weeks
@@Le_monsieur shit I'll try my best, for me that'll be harder than be harder than boot camp though 😂😂

No one on their deathbed ever said I was in the air force/army/navy and then smiled knowing they had lived a life worth living.
🤣🤣🤣 That is so True, I served as a Paratrooper/Infantryman with the 82nd Airborne division for 12 years, I am a lot older now, and just like you Marines, I am always and forever be proud of my self worth to this country in having served as and will always be a PROUD PARATROOPER, only the few take the hard road only a few volunteer to do that, My hats off to those that still have that spirit in their hearts and mind to do that... Airborne all the way and a shout out to the USMC SEMPER FI!!!
Air Force special forces are some of the hardest to get into, PJs and Combat controllers do more than anyone in the Marine Corp is doing
@@starfy1197 Being elite in a group of people who didn’t have the balls to be Marines is nothing to brag about.
@@randygravel2057 they would be elite in your group of people too, not even a top Marine in MARSOC is on the level of a combat controller in the Air Force
@@randygravel2057 you’re literally an idiot if you think you would be kissing the feet of a PJ or a CCT. They would embarrass and humble you real quick bud.
I was Army Infantry for 8 years, went to Fort Benning (Fort Moore now) 20 years ago (I'm 37). It's always good to see younger people joining up, regardless of branch. They are definitely doing something that most of the population won't or can't do. 🤘🤘
It’s not hard…
@@ZennithZX No shit, I didn't say it was.
It’s not hard but like he said people don’t want to join, can’t pass the asvab, or have some medical/moral issue that won’t allow them to join.

Receiving was like this in 1989. It wasn’t until we dropped to our training companies that it got seriously chaotic.
My Grandad Alex was Marines my Moms dad RIP 😞🥺 1936-2021 he served 10 yrs way back 1956-1966 he was an MP E6 Staff Sgt after the Corps he was a Cop for 30 years 1966-1996 he retired a Captain 🇺🇸👍🏽
LOL.. the opening scene of Full Metal Jacket always puts a smile on my face. 8:19
These were good times. This was 12 years ago for me. Time sure flys by
7 years for me feels like ages ago now
Amazing that the single rope techniques are exactly what I was taught in 1987.
the bus load at the 39 second mark is some of the first batches of us that went in in September 2023. cant wait to see if they have more of Charlie company from September 11th through December 8th.
I arrived at Parris Island on 9/11/23, and thus began 3+ months of hell, including having to endure a drop from Hotel to November Co. Still earned that EGA and graduated, so it didn't matter. OORAH!!
To all the soon to be shippers always remember; be loud, be fast, do what you are told, don’t make yourself too known as a troublemaker. Fastest way out of boot camp is by graduation. Other else than that, keep your motivation up and drive through one day you’re gonna look back in boot camp and think all the shenanigans you went through and laugh about it.
Us army, 1987 to 1995, EOD aviation, Sgt E5. Thank you marines ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Was there May 28th 1982. What was odd is in the contraband room we weren't allowed to say a word. No sounding off whatsoever. We had to have those Skilcraft pens in our mouths the whole time. Anyone caught talking had to get up and sing. I laugh at it now, but it wasn't so funny then. Ah, the memories!
Either 4 years or 40 years, you will never 4get your military years
Bootcamp was a fever dream
The scene with the boot camp haircut reminded me of a couple of movie scenes where guys had their long hair get cut down to nubs. Then I also thought that some of the haircut recipients were paying homage to the barbers for their service as well by giving the barbers some long locks to cut. This somehow also reminded of a time when I was walking to my office with a Gunny from the parking lot to the entrance, and I shoved my hands in pockets because it was chilly. The Gunny immediately looked at me, and sternly asked if I was testing her. My hands quickly and promptly came out of my pockets with the reply, no, Gunny, absolutely not. BTW, I was a LtCol at the time.
My younger brother just got shipped out today. 🔥🤘🏼
LOL the intro picture is from kapolei Oahu its funny seeing him there
Man I ship out August 5th. Getting closer each day
PI or san Diego?
The DI’s have tailored sleeves on their Service Charlies, and I’ve never seen that anywhere else since I joined NROTC in college in 1987. It looked particularly sharp because details matter. The Marines should have recruiters do the same thing. Maybe even set up a couple day period of instruction with a cadre and curriculum developed by both MCRDs to help recruiters look good in public.
Let the games begin
Yes, Sir, let the mind games begin.
Seeing DIs with no campaign ribbons makes me feel old.
i ship out in september good luck to all before me

I’m trying to join! It’s what I want. Hopefully I move to Nevada soon and can start the process, or at least get some confirmation that I can do it here
You can talk to one of the local recruiters in your town to see if you qualify. You may be able to start before even going to Nevada, but that would all depend on your circumstances.
@@SSgtRote i tried contacting the recruiters here since they gave me their card but I never heard back so I’m kinda just waiting and hoping to move soon!

I ship out in July!
Good luck, ma'am, mad respect. If you csn, please tell me the experience after.
gonna be busy at the depot in july, but best of luck and dont give up on yourself and take of your body.
Don't think too much about it. Join a gym and do a combination of weight training and cardio. Cardio is going to be more helpful to you in the long run. Most recruits arrive with a history of bad eating habits. Eat healthy now, cardio up like crazy, even on recumbent or treadmills, on the soft grass or sand & lift weights. Just enough to tone. Do overdo it.
@d.rcarrera6599 4 more years and I might join. 🔥
What days was this filmed? My meat head started 24 March, 2024..
Good video, but I could do without the slow-mo and the music. Otherwise, it's good to see this after 25 years.
When did San Diego start getting female recruits? A lot has changed since I was in, graduated mcrdsd 2006, echo company, platoon 2067, SDI Ssgt Ruano.
In 2021 they did a couple of test runs. Starting in 2023, females from the west coast began training in San Diego. Around the same time, Paris Island's 4th Recruit Training Battalion was deactivated. Recruit companies are all gender-integrated now, though individual platoons are still single gender. Most companies, in practice are still males-only, simply because there are comparatively fewer female recruits.
We never got to make a phone call when we arrived at PI.
Good thing this is San Diego AND these Recruits and all get to make calls regardless Of where they do training . If you aren’t a Hollywood Marine you def did get to make a call get to make a call unless you are Chesty Puller or Archibald Henderson . Before the invention of phones
DI's see the busses, says "Ahhh, fresh meat!!"
This crap is dumb. They're busy doing this dumb crap looking like fools while their peers are making hundreds of thousands a year on social media as influencers. Rather be an influencer making $100K/yr at the age of 19 then a tool running around screaming and stroking drill instructor ego's. And these tools will get into the fleet and realize that Marine Corps real life is lame and depressing. At 25 they'll be busy saluting grown men and women, some of whom will be younger than them while their peers are buying homes and making 6-figure salaries. So lame.
This senior DI has lifeless dull dry cadence! I feel sorry for those young men😆😆😆😆 “HOWEVER” the training is what count. I have to come to term with the corp is not the same as when I came through but it rings in our heart and mines the same as it did with chesty Puller and Marines before him.
i agree, for a senior he cant sing a cadence...
I ship out June 3rd wish me luck 😅 - poolee Lindsey
I’m a week after you. San Diego
I been thinking about joining, just not sure if I’m prepared for it though. I’m pretty short and don’t have much strength for the physical side of the training.
There's a 4f9 guy that did the marine recruit training. You can do it if you put your heart and mind into it.
Plenty of people go into the military out of shape and not being able to do ten push ups, or even one pull up, and end up passing basic/boot. I'm currently in the enlistment process for joining the Army as a 19D Cav Scout. Currently 5'11 and 240(mostly muscle though) and tbh the only thing I'm worried about is the 2 mile run. But you'll never know if you'll make it or not unless you try. Send it bro.
It’s way worst off camera, papa bless those recruits with camera photographers
It’s mainly second and a bit of first batallion that gets the camera exposure
they cant show the special training that you get when youve done really good
I ship out August 29
Wooks started going to MCRD😲

OH YEA, DON'T CRY AT NIGHT WHEN U HERE THE PLANES LEAVING THE AIRPORT THATS LITERALLY RIGHT BEHIND THE PT FIELD N CHOW HALL😂😂
Aaah Hollywood Marines.
"YOU BELONG TO ME, LADIES!!!!!" 😡😈👿
Hearing those female voices would keep my mind from fully committing. It would feel like high school or something.
Interesting the men and women are all together here?

ALL I CAN SAY IS "BLACK FRIDAY"!!!!! 😂😂😂😂
Don't bring anything even a bag..
If you ain't Infantry you ain't shit.
This really upsets me. ALL recruits need to have their heads shaved. Women and men can grow their hair back. Just a thought from an old Marine.....This fucking new Marine corps from what we see is discrimination... I'm a 18 year old longhair but men get buzz cut but women have a choice??? WTF... Take a que from GI Jane..as bs as the movie is...but equity was legit..
well the ladies could cut off their hair before shipping because they have that choice. even the rekruts who are already bald, the barbier only polishes ther bowling ball instead of rip the scalp fom ther heads. and the DIs demands that ther Ball is shining for the the 13 weak.
Platoon 3266, Mike Company 2017 Glad I ain’t doing this crap ever again lol, now in the coast guard. SEMPER FITUS.
If you can do your twenty years and get a pension, do it. I would not want to be out at sea for a duty station. I did three Westpacs and had the time of my life. That's all the sea service I wanted.
I want my mommy
I'll never forget standing right where these guys are in jan 1999!!! One of the proudest accomplishments in my life, but the coed shit is gonna kill our Marine Corps, Semper Fi!!! God Bless!!!
So in essence, a woman should stay at home and be in the kitchen? Been in the Navy going on 17 years and it makes me sad that men like you feel this way.
the males and females are separated...
@@mysteals9975 I knew that about Paris island at 1 time, but we didnt have any women at San Diego, but I did see some physical hand to hand bootcamp training on another video where male n female were together against each other!!! If that's still going on is what I'm trying to say, that's all!!!
I was in the company right before these guys, kinda funny seeing the platoon terrorists on KZhead 😂
It’s so bizarre seeing female recruits at San Diego now.
Why don't the females shave their heads as well?
guys only get their hair cut bc of lice and tradition. females are more sanitary than males so they were never required to shave their heads 😅
Fr I wanna keep my hair too 😂
@@xx_sn1p3rg4ng_xx5 Its not about keeping hair its about equality. If women want to pretend to be Marines they can shave their heads just like the men. Makes me sick how women play pretend.
Humans are silly

This is old af around 2016? I legit just went last year at 26 years old lmao
January 2014 I arrived at 28 years old, turned 29 a few days after black Friday
nah this aint that old bc they didnt start training women in san diego until 2021 i believe
Not to mention their boots are already bloused before phase 3 and they're wearing frog gear shirts in mcmap which is crazy. I joined early 2010 so this is all new to me. We weren't allowed to even blouse our boots until close to the crucible. Frog gear assault shirts didn't even get issued until a deployment in Afghanistan.
@@usmc98277 we bloused our boots right after initial drill
Bro no one gives a crap about the haircut portion show real training oh they won’t because besides from the few smoke sessions it’s mostly just stamping clothes all day
Wow. I guess we just whisper gently to recruits now. What a joke the DEI Corps is now. God help us.
The dreaded hair cut
Wow. That chick getting a haircut wit a single tear rolling down her cheek. The army is more suited for her. Jk CARRY ON RECRUIT.
