Quite impressive! 400 HP and after 250 it accelerates like its 500+ and all that with not that much of a good aerodynamics. Great job!

Aerodynamic drag is a function of frontal area, which in the case of the Z4 is low, and drag coefficient, which for this body style should be low as well. So there is your answer about why this has such good acceleration at high speeds.

did you watch the part where you see its a convertible? its not going to have the same amount of noise insulation. that's the trade off you accept.
Yeah, cabin noise is actually pretty good. I've done a long trip (about 1000km) with it and even at highway speed I could not complain. It is comparable to most of non-covertible non-premium cars.
Who cares about 0-60 it's a drivers car

Detailing my first X1 today! I am in the states and I work on a lot of other brands, but BMW isn’t as common, so I haven’t ever gotten the chance to do an X1. This video got me that much more excited.

My dad owns a (stock) Z4 M40i. Great car! Car is missing 2 things: steering feel and a sport+ suspension option to make is more sporty. It’s a share they don’t make a Z4M in my opinion.
Does it not have variable dampers?
@@machtschnell7452 - The Adaptive Suspension is optional. It’s optional on my M340i. I also wish I knew abt it b4 leasing my car. But overall, it’s a great car.
I think Toyota decided to make their Supra look like the 2nd gen, therefore making a BMW version redundant. Probably a BMW/Toyota collaboration agreement.
It also shares the suspension setup with the Supra, so it can be easily tuned for a better feel. For now it's setup with a much more squishier suspension feel as it's trying to be a GT. But has the capability to be turned into a sports setup
Very difficult to get good steering feel with electronic steering. It's possible (Porsche 991 GT3) but most cars with good steering feel have either smaller wheels or hydraulic steering.
As far as weekend cars go, objectivrly, nobody would ever need anything more than this thing. It's proportions are very nice and the intake sounds are lovely even though the OPFs mute the exhaust quite heavily

The level of trust you have to have for other drivers on the autobahn is amazing. I mean, if one of those cars pulled out when you are at top speed, it would be all over. I guess that goes to show how much better at following sensible road rules the Europeans are. Love he videos... wish I had an autobahn around my way, with drivers who kept right all the time...!
Ze Germans are extremely disciplined people, so no danger of anyone ever pulling out unexpectedly. However, not everyone on the Autobahn is from Germany, and this is what's really terrifying. It could definitely go wrong at some point. I hope he's careful.

I lived in Germany for three years. There is no comparison between European (especially German) drivers and the retards on the roads over here!. So competent and disciplined; it was amazing and so refreshing. Cars are also maintained at such a high level...very thorough inspections. They will flunk your car for a quarter-sized bit of surface rust on your muffler! I know, from personnel experience. I miss the driving experience more than you can imagine. Roads are also built and maintained to such a high level. They have to be, for the speeds their drivers commonly see everyday. Long live the Autobahn!

I've since bought this car since my last comment. It is amazing and stupid fast. Our version here in the west comes with 382HP and it's every bit of it. White with Magma red..nice combo.
The g29 z4 is equipped with a ZF8-51 transmission which is rated for up to 500Nm, would be nice to know how the extra load of 110Nm of torque over the designed limit will do to the transmission? I suspect transmission swap will be required at some point?

I'd love to see one of the popular kits around here in the US with the Supra put in one of these Z4s. 800-1000whp is becoming the standard with the platform, not that it is surprising.
I had my 2011 E89 35is tuned by the guys from Mosselman. Stage2. Jan24. I had it already for 8 years and decided to hang on to it. Full stop. Till the end. Bought it at 80kkm. Now 220kkm. Always a few times to the Alps, Pyrenees etc per year. Had it tuned at 220kkm. First it had like a check-up. Will it take the tuning, or will we kill it. So, after 220kkm, it still had 348hp and 540nm (standard, new: 340hp and 500nm), so not too bad. Tuning, Wagner intercooler. Walnutblast and oilthermostat upgrade. It now has 410hp and 630nm. It's really quick. Topspeed around 275km/h. Especially the pull is amazing. Power everywhere. I do like it a lot. I'll hang on to it as long as possible. Even if i'm going to buy something else, I'll just keep this one. Not a sportscar. To heavy and to soft. But a very powerful GT. You already geussed...I love it.

Such a shame that the live performance graphics on the dash (power & torque) don't reflect the updated figures. They seem to top out at ~500nm & 360hp which are the stock values for this engine.
Geweldige auto. Ik heb de “saaie” rode M40i. Helaas is de ECU nog steeds niet gekraakt. Ik hoop spoedig zodat we Mosselman een bezoekje kunnen brengen. 😊

How to remove speed limiter?
The m40i I have here in Canada makes 382hp. But certainly feels like more. Car and driver did 0-60 in 3.5 seconds.check it out.

Great reviews, enjoy watching your content from Australia, currently own a M135i Xdrive as my daily which good, but really wanted an M140i however it just looks way too dated inside. Any how I'm surprised that the M140i can achieve a 4.5-4.6 to 100 and the B48 M135 xdrive can do a 4.7-4.8 as tested to 100 and yet all these new versions of the B58 are still in that high 4 with the exception of the 240i xdrive. I just hope that they create a M140i hatchback with that awesome B58, I'm sold....
A nice spec m140i is hardly dated. It's basically the same at the car in the video. You get some awful digital dials in the new one and a similar screen in the middle. M140i is a much much better car than the new M135i. Not even close. I know what I would spend my money on. B58 every day. You made a massive mistake 🤣

How proportional is acceleration increase to power increase Especially when you said 27seconds vs 32 seconds 0 to 250 its 0.84 or stock vs tuned 340 vs 400 is also 85% so stock car have 85% power of tuned one and acceleration reflects same number Very logical

I had a Z4 M Coupe in the past and it was a nice car! The cabin was bit small and the brakes were not enough even for a couple of hot laps at the track, but I liked it. Now, instead of buying another Z, I bought a SLC 43 AMG and I must say I like it even more! It’s beautiful, more compact, luxurious, fairly strong and the retractable rigid top is like having a Coupe and a Roadster. In fact, I’m driving it more than my 911 Carrera T. But I will do a stg 2 on the SLC 43 AMG and have some fun at the track to see how it goes. Of course, on the handling department and general performance the 911 is a world apart. But let’s see what happens. At the road and the streets I’m loving to cruise and have some spirited driving at the twisties!

One of the Z4 designers said there isn't a true M version because the chassis isn't designed for that much power.

Hij is sportief aan het rijden, valt dat je niet op?? Bochtjes pak je altijd in een lagere versnelling, vooral als je sportief rijdt.
@@j.c.s_0592 dat is een brandstofbesparende versnelling, in dit geval de 8ste versnelling. deze zorgt niet voor een hogere topsnelheid, maar wel voor economischer kunnen rijden. In deze versnelling heb je vaak minder trekkracht
