    • @@ctorre yes, exactly. I was just stating why she did it. The original commentor on top was getting all emotional that she's grown up and is dressing that way. I was explaining why so that she could hopefully come to the realization That this thought process is a bit problematic. Good for Billie, it's too bad she felt like she had to shield her body because a lot of men can't stop sexualizing everything. It's like she's shamed into covering herself up with the way she was doing it to try not to be sexualized. Men will sexualize everything regardless of what women wear though

  • I've been around long enough to notice there is a trend of artists that start out really edgy and rock and roll, but they have a secret love affair with more traditionally glamorous styles and it eventually becomes a moment of reinvention for them. As an observer of the celebrity, I never know how I feel about it. On one hand, I always cheer for the more raw and rugged persona because it gives tradition the bird, but I also like a little bit of old Hollywood style, so I get the artist's urge. Ms. Eilish looks intriguing to me no matter the look.

    • It's nothing to do with 'reinvention' so much as it's simply an industry formula that has worked for decades. Everything we are presented with is meticulously calculated and thought out. That is also perhaps the ambivalence you feel towards it because it is not truly sincere. Your subconscious knows it's a pattern but the messaging is that it's some new, innovative reinvention. Not about hating on Billie at all but it's the reality of the industry.

  • I love that the designers didn’t just use Billie as a vessel for their design but they really cared for what it meant for her to be wearing something like this in regards to her feeling comfortable and supporting a positive body image for her. That to me was a huge plus for them. Also the fact that she said she’d only do it if the brand cease all fur sales and they immediately obliged ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

The subtleties of the gown’s color schemes allow Billie’s own beauty to shine rather than a vivid dress color that screams “look at me”. She's different now, she's grown up. She is no longer a teenage tomboy, but a beautiful young and confident woman. And she broadcasts it to others. Self-love. And also the fact that we are all changing, and that this is absolutely normal. You won't always think the same way as when you were 15, right? In one of her songs at the world tour, she showed the infamous bathing suit in tar, and I was so happy. She’s genuinely amazing and beautiful. I admire her, and her kindness is wonderful.     • I disagree. The colour doesn't look good on her at all. It's the opposite of show stopping - so it's the opposite of what she is aiming for. Any other colour would be better. Her hair and her make-up don't look good either. Old Hollywood Style could look really great on her... But the washed out colours she has chosen to date are not flattering.

I also think it was just a lil too heavy for the look overall. Plus the makeup didn't complement her striking eyes and make them pop, but rather made them look smaller in appearance. It just felt very disjointed with how stunning the rest of her look was.

    • The fit on the cups (as mentioned below) was bad. A good corset maker would have had those underwires in the centre sit flat against her chest in her cleavage and it would have supported her better. The dress was beautiful, but she deserved a better fit. Disappointed that the designers failed in this regard.

When a celebrity does something that’s the bare minimum, people like the feeling of relatability. It makes the celebrity more human to them, so they latch on to it.

  • I think that seeing her happy, seeing her reach this point of confidence, is what the entire fandom has been waiting for the most.
