EXTENDED MAN CITY HIGHLIGHTS | Man City 7-0 Leeds | Foden, Grealish, De Bruyne, Mahrez, Stones, Ake

Pep Guardiola’s side completely outplayed the visitors with a devastating attacking display which sent the defending champions four points clear at the top of the Premier League.
Kevin De Bruyne scored a brace, with Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Riyad Mahrez, John Stones and Nathan Ake also on target.
City dominated from start to finish and took the lead in the seventh minute when Foden volleyed home from the edge of the area to net the 500th league goal under Guardiola.
The Catalan reached the milestone quicker than any other manager in the competition’s history and didn’t have to wait long for his 501st goal as Grealish headed home Mahrez’s cross to double our lead after 12 minutes.
De Bruyne rifled past Illan Meslier to ensure we went in three goals to the good at half-time and Mahrez put the result beyond doubt four minutes after the restart when his low strike deflected off Junior Firpo to wrong foot Meslier in the Leeds goal.
De Bruyne then scored the pick of the goals, crashing a 25-yard drive into the top of the net and Stones added a sixth with a fierce strike from close range after Meslier did well to keep out his initial attempt.
Substitute Ake headed home from a Foden corner to complete the scoring.

  • The Football world is blessed to have a coach like Guardiola. The brand of football that his teams play is just on another level. Many can say it is because he spends a lot but it takes a brilliant mind to put the pieces together and produce the kind of football we are watching. Wasn't de bryune a cheslea reject? Now look at what Pep turned him to and many other City players that Pep has massively improved on their tactical understanding of the game. Pep knows exactly the players he wants for his system and he makes them excel within that system. Once Pep leaves City, we will see the difference. It is extremely difficult to recreate Pep's standards with any other manager and once he leaves the EPL, the effects will be felt. Of course other rival managers will be happy but when it comes football entertainment, the void will be there. Personally, I love watching Guardiola's teams whether they win or lose, they simply play better. I am always entertained watching them and always try and learn the tactical side of Guardiola's system, something that I am not concened doing with any other team that is not coached by Pep.

    • I’m not much of a sports man myself but Pep’s style of football simply demands respect and his coaching is the reason I’ve followed Barca, Bayern, and City over the years. Always such a treat to see Man City in top form. Playing football the way it deserves to be played

    • Leeds fan. Same tactics as we play , just better players you got. We can’t match you. I’ll answer your comeback now. We ripped up the championship playing high press attacking football. The first season back in Prem we finished second half of season well when injured players were back.. Our problem atm is injuries, oh! and tight monetary policy 😱

    • Well, the teams fighting for 4th aren’t very good. Tottenham are supposedly having a terrible season, and they just need 5 points from their 4 games in hand to be 4th. Unlike most, I don’t think the title race will be tight. I think Chelsea will drop out by the new year. I am not sure about Liverpool: they look formidable but are always one or two injuries away from falling apart.

  • I remember when PL fan boys use to claim when he was manager at Barça and Bayern he would never get scorelines, goals, wins, points like that in the PL against PL opposition. Crazy thing is both of those squads were alot stronger and more consistent than his City side. Especially his Barça side. Now he's done the same thing in the PL.
