Porr Buddy just wants to be friends but he scares an unsure Nathan with his wet nose! He's eager to say sorry though and you can see the look of guilt and concern knowing he made him cry. Nathan loves dogs and is just confused who this extra new fluff is in his house, he's too young to remember him but Buddy remembers Nathan all too well. Golden retrievers are just so wholesome, ful of love and just am to please all the time, they're the perfect family pet all round. Buddy is a brilliant example but we wouldn't be without our giant fluffy malamutes!

It's amazing how the dog understood the baby's moment of distress; then he humbles himself with a body language of submission.
Dogs are very intuitive. They know what we are feeling almost before we ourselves do, the same way they know the time and the weather often before we do. Humans hurt their legs and try to walk on them as if to tempt nature. Dogs will always limp or just not bother.

It's problematic to introduce them like that. The dog will be confused about the role of the baby. It's sending the wrong signals. He will become protective, but also feel like he's in charge of the baby and therefore has authority over it. Instead you want to establish the baby to be an extension of the mother, so that the dog knows he owes the baby the same respect as his mother. Mother dogs do the same. They are very protective of their puppies and keep the other dogs away for weeks, before introducing them little by little, so that the puppies get the same respect in the pack, as she gets, instead of falling behind in the ranking order because apart from the mother, they are just the weakest members of the pack.

Theres no way you could convince me that that dog didn't feel genuine guilt for making the baby cry. His body language spoke volumes. The yawn (indicator of nervousness), the re-positioning away from the baby, the exposed belly, and the eventual nudge were all SO clear. Remember when people used to claim that animals didnt feel emotions?

The doggo is so intelligent and observant. He almost immediately rolled over to the other side, sat up, tried to back up and give space to the baby, only got close again with the adult's direction, and gave kisses before leaning in again. I'm impressed the series of action he took here, such a bright and good-nature animal!!

the dog yawning shows that he got instantly tensed because of the baby's cry...he understood the problem and even became more gentle . .kudos to the mother, she is the perfect parent to both of them and the baby also put in sooo much effort to understand the dog....both of them did so much better than most humans...they will grow up to be best friends for life❤❤

Emma is such a smart Mum. She didn’t immediately pick Nathan up but spoke soothingly to him and let him grasp the fact that Buddy didn’t mean to scare hjm. Nathan figured it out on his own and will grow up to be a happy and well-adjusted child without fear just like his big sister!
She is smart as well as her husband.. Ive been following them since there was only Phil and Niko and at their other house- I always pray for good health for all of them especially Philly Bear ❤

I firmly believe that having a dog in the house since the day I was brought home from the hospital has shaped me into the person I am today and has taught me so much not only about patience and understanding, but also about emotional intelligence. I get so moved every time I see a beautiful video between young children and pets ❤

They're great babysitters! 🤣 I've seen them run to a toddler who got too close to the street, grab him by the diaper & bring them back! 😁 Awesome doggies! ☺️

What a sensitive dog.......so sweet.
I've seen a lot of this family's videos but this has to be one of the cutest ever. You can actually see how sad Buddy is after he realizes what he's done. The love he showed towards Nathan was so genuine. Great job Buddy!😊

The dog didn't even do anything wrong. He gave the baby a kiss and the baby cried over it. I'm glad this mother did not blame or scold the dog like so many people do when a baby cries around a dog. There are certainly some bad dogs who would be aggressive and harm kids. But I don't know of any Goldens who've ever hurt anyone let alone a baby.
@@SusieQ1971I think the crying was due Buddy laying on his foot. Babies and toddlers can be quite slow to respond - for example, if they fall and don't really hurt themselves, they'll take two to three seconds to decide that they are going to cry. Not that I think Buddy did anything wrong, it was accidental and I Nathan was probably more in shock than pain - he's just acting like a baby😅

Golden retrievers are the most tolerant, gentle dogs. Its good the mother was there though. Some little kids can pull at their ears or annoy them but they take it! Not so much little babies like this but with toddlers & older kids, you still got to be careful to watch kids with them. Older dogs arent as tolerate if they are hurting(just like humans) especially if they have aches in joints etc. I know I owned Goldens myself. 😊Lovely interaction to watch.
So its good that the mother was there so that the dog was ok, like lets all forget about the baby, screw the baby right! You dog owners are all the same, you just like something dumb on the end of a leash that cant answer back right!

@@mikipope5140babies don’t know how to interact with dogs yet and dogs don’t always understand that nor do they often have the ability to understand babies do not mean them harm and can often get defensive. The mom should be there so over time the baby can learn proper ways to treat and be around animals and the puppy can learn how to be gentle with children. It’s not a negative thing unless you make it one but it’s a fact young children can be overly playful and insensitive of animals, animals then get defensive and they both get hurt. Yes the mom should’ve been there

The best is the mom. She didn't panic and said " OMG,what happened?" Instead she calmly soothed her child and said" It's ok, he didn't mean to do it." She knew that babies cry on the smallest cue and had the mom panicked, kid would have cried more. God bless this angelic Golden Retriever and the cute kid and their new friendship. It's so precious.💕

Golden retrievers are one of the only breeds I would trust alone with a baby, I sure there are other breeds just as gentle, but retrievers are actual angels.
Then your insane. 2 years ago a golden retriever ripped apart a 1 year old here in Norway. They are hunting dogs you know "Retrievers". Good luck with your choices in life one of them could cost your kid
Don't EVER leave a dog, ANY dog, alone with a baby. All dogs have different personalities. Animals are just that, animals. While most goldens are known for their gentle behavior, don't assume that any dog can't hurt a child. You never can be sure of how any animal will react to a child.

@@Lassemalten To be fair, RETRIEVERS are bread to have soft mouths, as in to NOT rip the prey when they retrieve it. They're not bread to be aggressive or to hurt the game, quite the contrary. However they are a fit, medium sized dog, that can obviously seriously hurt a child if they're poorly trained, or provoked by a child, which could always happen. Don't leave any dog, or any animal for that matter, alone with a small child.
@@tatskamaster Owner only got 6 months in jail, the dog where around kids almost every weekend as she used to baby sit kids. She was away for a short while and then come back to find the 1 year old dead and torn apart. So yeah "my dog is always so kind" thats BS that every owner says. It's still an animal

This is why dog is mans best friend. Its like they know how we feel and always try and cheer us up. Its like they are the most caring animals ever and if younever bond with a dog the feelings you get from that is that of a loved one that means so much to you. I lost my German Shepherd 2 years ago to Cancer and i still miss him every single day. I hope this baby grows up and also forms a bond with this dog because i know this dog would do anything for him.

Dogs have such beautiful souls. It is critical for them to have a loving environment to blend into a family in order to be protective but gentle to babies and others in the household.

Are you kidding yourself? At such a young age the developmental task is to be able to develop trust in one's parent, know the safety of the loving, protective parent and develop a close rel'p with the parent. Working out a testy situation with another entity is for much later.
@@anielakowzan9113the baby was safe and fine. As we could clearly see, the baby felt safe. Crying doesn’t mean danger and fear. She was right there and the baby did feel safe. Look at how he positioned himself and backed up for a bit. Then moved back closer.

I love how intelligent and compassionate goldens are. The way he surrendered to the baby was his way of saying "I mean no harm." When dogs expose their bellies to you it's either they trust you to protect them, or they know that you are the one in charge of them. And to those of you saying "animals don't have emotions" well get ready for my nerd talk! All vertebrates have a hippocampus in their brains. The hippocampus deals with emotions. So, since dogs are vertebrates, they do indeed have a hippocampus and therefore do indeed have emotions. (I did do my research from multiple sources internet)

Some babies are so DRAMATIC. Poor doggo 😂😭
