Matthews was locked down well by the Bruins. Maybe if we had played Tampa he would've had more room to operate. He's young and he'll learn, heck McDavid only got 4pts against Anaheim last year and it was Draisaitl who carried the Oilers that series.

S Dev if you’re talking about the maple leafs no way. As a bruins fan I thought after game 6 it was gonna be over in game 7. But the bruins somehow somewhere go a 6-4 lead. I thought they would lose 3-6. The leafs played an outstanding series and it was really fun to watch. But if they didn’t have Anderson as a goalie, they would’ve lost more. Good luck 👍 next year(not being sarcastic). I hope to face you guys in 2018-2019 playoffs 😀

last year against the caps he was the reason why it went to game 7 too. Caps had double the shots last year.
Unfortunately, it is true. Freddie is still a spectacular goalie and a gem for the Leafs as he allowed us to even compete in a game 7 this series but we had Rask at a 66 S% in the second when we got 4 goals on 12 shots. This was the perfect game for Freddie to just keep doing his thing but he had a bad night too. Just really bad timing cause Rask was down and out.
They lost in 6 last year.

Called it before series began simply cause we're just a good reg season team facing a tough, well rounded skilled and experienced Bruins team. If anyone gets an extension hitting double digits this summer when Pastrnak n Marchand make 6.5 or less don't expect a cup within the next 3-5 years as our media seems certain about.

The modern playoff format is bogus for teams like the Leafs. They had a good year and had to face a tough opponant on their ice in the first round, instead of a 6th seed. They fought them to a game 7 3rd period clincher. Nice job. As for the Bruins...if they had this much trouble with the Leafs, then they are in tough against Tampa or even worse, possibly the raging Pens who are playoff beasts.

Braeden's Broadcasting Channel Yeah and in the end he had 24 shots againt and 4 goals, which obviously isn't great but it was better than Andersen's 6 goals on 35 shots, and the goals Freddy let in were wayyy softer, two of the goals on Rask were deflections and one was a breakaway.

If you analyze each individual goal, Gardiner played his man pretty well. The Debrusk 2nd goal, he had to turn that way for sure, if he turns left he can't beat him in a footrace. He should have had the stick in front of the net, but that's the only play he messed up. The other two goals were Marner's fault (he didn't cover his man). The other goal was an amazing slap pass where Plekanec lost Bergeron and scored. Freddy should have had 2 of the goals against there. I don't really get how you call yourself a fan then say insanely rude things about Gardiner. Just analyze the plays...

ARE YOU IN?? This loss hurt, but not as much as 2013 though. Bruins just outplayed the Leafs in the third and once they took the lead, it didn't look like we were coming back. Far different than giving up the game late and then losing in OT.

This one hurts as much as any playoff loss in the last like 10 years. The leafs usually don’t show up in game 7s and can’t score a goal but this game they actually showed up and we’re about to get multiple leads. Just our luck that we got the maybe the worst goaltending performance ever and couldn’t hold the lead
It is now 2022 and in the 2021 playoffs and they blew a 3-1 series lead against the Montreal canadiens, which the leafs lost in game 7

Joe I think you missed my point. Take a look at Bruin’s first line’s production. They were responsible for most of the goals, as I pointed out in the earlier comment, if that line wasn’t there this would’ve been over in 4 games.

Shoutout to Jake Gardiner! Absolute garbage. I know people will try to say, "It was because of a lack of team effort.", But no. I feel completely fine with putting this all on him. Countless turnovers on stretch passes to guys in the neutral zone who aren't even moving and then his effort on debrusks 2nd goal... Great series overall. Good on the leafs for coming back and making it one after getting destroyed the first two nights. There were some real nice moments for both teams. Sucks that such a good team had to be eliminated so early but that's just how it goes sometimes. They really need to change the playoff format
