"The Cranberries" es un popular conjunto de rock irlandés formada en 1989. Han desarrollado espectáculos majestuosos interpretando música alternativa y el llamado rock celta, del que Enya es también una destacada representante. Fue fundada por Nial Quinn, a quien se unieron los hermanos Mike y Noel Hogan, y Fergal Lawlweer. Tras la renuncia del vocalista Quinn, se unió al resto de la banda la cantante Dolores O'Riordan, quien además compuso muchos de sus temas.
O'Riordan nación en Limerick (Irlanda) el 6 de Septiembre de 1971, y falleció, a los 46 años, el 15 de Enero del 2018 en Londres (Inglaterra). En el 2007 comenzó una carrera en solitario, y a la fecha de su muerte se encontraba grabando una nueva versión de su éxito "Zombie" con la banda Bad Wolves.
"Zombie" es uno de sus más importantes sucesos. Fue escrita por Dolores O'Riordan e incluida en el disco "No Need to Argue" publicado en 1994. La letra es hermosa, y habla del anhelo independenista del pueblo irlandés, y sus luchas por más de un siglo. Para la cantautora la canción es un tema de paz entre Irlanda e Inglaterra, y fue escrita a raíz de un bombardeo británico en Irlanda del Norte en el que perecieron dos niños, y que desencadenó una ola de protestas en esa parte de Europa.
La traducción al español de una parte del tema, dice:

  • Yo recuerdo que tenía como 6-7 años y mi hermana mayor escuchaba esta canción,en las tardes que yo llegaba de la escuela,llegaba y mi hermana estaba haciendo comida recogiendo la casa y siempre salía esta canción, mi hermana y yo “cantabamos” la canción con tantas ganas de ser escuchados,hoy día tengo 20 años y desgraciadamente mi hermana falleció hace un año y medio aproximadamente,5 días después de su muerte que volví al trabajo,escuché esta canción seguida “Linger” y no abundaba más sentimiento en mi más que querer morir,mi hermana mayor era la que me llevaba a todos lados la que me malcriaba y la que me regañaba cuando era necesario. Amén a sus familias lo más que puedan,díganles todos los días lo felices que los hacen,aunque haya días que se odien,perdonen. Cuando falleció mi hermana estábamos peleados y la peor sensación es pedirle a tu familia perdón si que ellas te puedan aceptar las disculpas. Si llegas a leer todo esto,te mando un abrazo hasta donde quiera que me leas!❤️

    • que tistre los hermanos son los que te cubren cuando haces algo malo como romper algo son los que esta ahi cuando lo necesitan rie sin parar cuando se muere tu hermano o hermana es como si si también tu hubieras muerto porque los hermanos o hermanas son la alegría que puede tener uno

    • Mi hermana fue todo lo opuesto, escuchaba whats up, linger y hoy en día lloró a mi familia que sé separó por un divorcio de mis padres, mi hermana mayor sigue viva, llevamos años de no hablarnos, alejé a mis hijos de un ambiente tóxico y ellos tienen 20 y 22 y parece que lo lograron, pero a veces, solo a veces, una se rompe y le llora a la familia porque aunque ames a tus hermanos y padres a veces no es recíproco,y eso hace que uno se rompa de vez en cuando con , oda a la familia.

    • I had the honor of meeting Deloris in 2002 at the Tower Theater in Philadelphia. As I extended my hand to wave to the band Deloris noticed me. As the show progressed I was consumed by the great music from the first album with linger till Ode to Family. I was captured by the acoustics and lyrical power that Deloris conveyed.
