He did a lil bit, way too many unforced errors on his part, especially in the beginning of the match
Sure, Karatsev played great, but Djokovic is from another planet 🤣. Especially that second set, from 5-1 for Djokovic, Karatsev nearly turned around it.

It is unbelievable how fast Djokovic is. Even if his opponents hit really excellent shots, he is almost always in a good position and the ball exchange just continues until he wins the point. It looks like he is as fast as ever at 33. Unbelievable.
Novak is fast but its more have to do with anticipation and his crazy flexibility and ball control...there are plenty faster guys on tour (ie pre injuries Nadal would freakin teleport on site to counter-punch your would-be-winner)...SMH peak DJODAL have ruined tennis and rewrote meaning of winners and unforced errors (after that experience all matches now looks like rec ball in comparison)
he is GOAT, dont forget that.

He has only lost once from 2 sets up, vs Melzer at RG in 2010,murray has only lost once also, vs nalbandian in his wimbledon and GS debut in 2005.

Thank you for these wonderful highlights, Eurosport. Djokovic is the one that has kept up my passion for tennis over the last decade. Without him, as a player and above all as a person, I would have stopped watching tennis. Karasev has had a phenomenal tournament but the tempo went up dramatically in this match, now he's experienced the real level at the upper echelon of the game!
Novak's serve is truly a frightening weapon, especially in these fast conditions. He served 17 aces in just 3 sets.Karatsev served 6.

Guaranteed now to break Federer's most weeks as No1 regardless of any results until March 8th. Djokovic is certainly the GOAT. Its not just about slam number, even though he is going to get more than 20 easily, it is all the achievements that go with all that. Be it no1 weeks, his H2H against top players, holding all 4 slams at the same time, his continuous dominance since his breakout, his Masters records.... the list goes on and on. And remember... he did all that while facing most of the time not just his opponent on the other side of the net but the crowd as well. A mental giant, the goat. You know it. Some of you wont admit it though. And that is ok.

I’ve seen plenty of examples such as these before, so i know what i am talking about...he lacks technics and finesse of his other more perspective young compatriots, even Khachanov is a better and more perspective player!…what people are having now for Karatsev is called “recency bias” that’s all...

I saw djoko live summer 2019 and I was shocked by how good he is/was. What impressed me the most was his 2nd serve and defensive skills. It was an exhibition vs garin. He was a double break up in 8 minutes and garin was playing well! They quietly asked him to back off!
Was this on hardcourt? Garin is terrible on hard for his expectations. On clay he would have a chance vs nole when he has a good day
@@lukash5898 actually on grass. Definitely not his best surface! But he was serving well and very solid from the back. It was just that every time djoko was in trouble his defensive shot found the baseline or the passing shot hit the sidelines. And as I said earlier his 2nd serve was so close to the lines and exploding of the surface. Scary stuff
By far his greatest performance was in the first round against Chardy, this is right after. I hope he wins the final

Novak definitely hurt himself against Fritz. But after the panic he found out it’s not as bad as he thought. It was most likely a strain and not a tear. And I’m glad it wasn’t a serious injury tbh. Disgusting that people were hoping it was a bad injury. Hope for a great final!

I don't really care if he's going to win more GS than Fedal. Most people prefer Nadal and Federer (whom I respect) and that's completely ok. Nole has very peculiar qualities as a person and as a public figure that most people are not interested in or doesn't understand. But that's how life works and that's ok.

Djokovic deserved this win but man I just gotta say how impressive and surprising it has been to see Karatsev, ranked 114 (highest rank 111 in ATP), get into semi in a grand slam and win against 3 top 20 players in the process. Looking forward to seeing how he does the rest of this season (if there will even be one lol)

That backhand drive-volley from Karatsev was out of this world.
Congrats to Novak, what a match! He played unbelievably well until 5:1 in the second set, just a single(!!!) unforced error until that point. Aslan showed great potential against one of the best players in the history of the sport. If he can improve the percentage on his 1st serve and get more consistency on his backhand (definitely a weakness today), he will make it into the Top-20 fairly soon.

But Djokovic refused their offer because he loves his country and that's the REAL reason they hate him so much. They couldn't buy him like they do everyone else that plays for them and now he's a legend. It kills them that he didn't need their filthy money to succeed.

Mi chiedo perchè questo magnifico bombardiere Karatsev compaia sulla scena mondiale solo a 27 anni. Lo trovo un giocatore fantastico senza punti deboli. Gran servizio, dritto potente e magnifico rovescio. Atteggiamento positivo e pochi fronzoli. Forse manca di qualcosina a rete. Ma vederlo giocare è veramente un piacere. Mi pare abbia avuto un infortunio grave in passato. Credo che con un buon coach e un buono staff sia ancora in tempo per darci enormi soddisfazioni. E riguardo a questa partita, credo che lo stesso Djokovic si sia reso conto che questo è un grande giocatore.

Djokovic is scary there because Karatsev plays into his counter-attacker realm. If Tsitsipas reaches the final Novak will also dismantle him but since Medvedev is playing with much less risk and speed, this will be a different story. If the latter wins against tsitsipas, it will be physical and Djokovic will have to attack and expose a lot to Medvedev counters. Check previous matches between Djokovic and Medvedev, Djokovic prefers to be the counter-attackers rather than the attacker. Medvedev took a set in AO 2019 and Djokovic was playing better than today, Medvedev was weaker. In 2020 a below average medvedev (compared to the end of 2019) took a set to Djokovic at the 2020 ATP cup). Medvedev has a decent h2h against Novak and always offers a though match. He is our only "hope" for a balanced final and a good fight.
