      @gamble777888@gamble7778886 ай бұрын
    • @@gamble777888 Not necessarily. I don't have the speed and raw athletic ability of someone like Jefferson, but I'm an athlete who can pick up just about any sport and look like it's not my first time. I've only kicked a soccer ball a few times in my life, but I wouldn't look ridiculous doing it as I've kicked around a football or kick ball growing up. When you have coordination, body control, and a base of several sports that you grew up playing, you can apply that to just about any sport and pick it up fast to where you look like you've played before even though you really haven't. I've never played lacrosse, for example... but because I grew up playing baseball, I guarantee you it wouldn't look awkward for me to catch the ball in the basket or sling it to someone.

      @barnabydodd8956@barnabydodd89566 ай бұрын
    • @@barnabydodd8956 That's the Dunning Kruger effect working in your head. Because you don't play the sports in question you've no way to know if you look like an amateur or a pro when you try them for the first time. But your natural confidence is telling you you're amazing, and is telling you that everyone else thinks you're amazing too. When in reality it's immediately visible to anyone who's played the sports in question that you're a complete amateur. The effect's going to be less obvious if it's a sport that's similar to a sport you're actually good at; like baseball and rounders, or netball and basketball. But if you tried to dribble a football I can guarantee you that your lack of technique would be immediately visible. The problem is that you *don't know what you don't know.* All those little things that give away whether a person is comfortable with a ball at their feet? You've no idea what they are, so you don't recognise that you're displaying none of them. You don't know what you don't know. As a result you're unwarrantedly confident.

      @mediacenterman8583@mediacenterman85837 ай бұрын
    • @@mediacenterman8583 Don't know about US football but knowing how to sprint won't help you that much in football if you're not good comfortable with the ball, and it's not easy at all, just look at Usain Bolt, although being the fastest man on earth he didn't really succeed at football (he tried a bit late tho). Fundamentals take years to master, all those top guys you see in Europe have been playing inside professional clubs from the age of like 10, like 50% school and 50% football, sure you need to be a top athlete but that's the easiest part, being highly physical with a great endurance can get a defender role in a decent club tho

FIFA, CONMEBOL, UEFA, CONCACAF, CBF etc and etc... all these organizations are corrupted and they all need to converge in the same interest to get things done. Changes of rules, improvments for the game, use of technology, organizing attractive championships etc. NFL being a sole organization have more effective and faster ways of improving the sport. It's not because you like soccer that you have to dislike "handegg". I wish FIFA was just as good and transparent to deal with its problems like the NFL is. @@jayydubbw1187
