  • The fact that Peter Jackson based the filming of The Hobbit around Martin's availability should show how much of a big deal Martin truly is.

The best way I could define it is by its settlers-- half Swedish/Finnish and half Irish. It's like God took the two accents and smooshed them together. You end up with the Irish cadence and Swedish pronunciation. It's just bizarre. He does it perfectly. "Ya-sure-you bet!"

But they went with Radagast's character, Thorin&Azog backstory, Tauriel, Kili and Legolas love triangle and Thranduil hatred for dwarves. If they actually spent time on the characters maybe the goodbye scene from the Battle of the Five Armies wouldn't look so ridiculous.

From there I finally watched the LOTR movies last year after watching the 3 Hobbit movies. But my favorite will always be the Hobbit movies. All the actors did an awesome job, Ian McKellen across all 6 movies, of course, but Martin Freeman's portrayal of Bilbo is my most favorite part of the 6 movies. Freeman and Ian Holm make it completely believable that they are the same character, at different times in their life. Brilliant. • I'm loving the fact that everyone is pissed their favorite Martin Freeman movie wasn't talked about. Just shows how much his performances touched people, even the ones in otherwise bad or unsuccessful movies. Here's to hoping there will be many more films that touch many more hearts.
