Cops tased him for turning down a one way street but that was just the beginning | PAR

A Wisconsin man making Doordash deliveries in the vicinity of Lake Superior had his world suddenly turned upside-down by a traffic stop gone terribly wrong. Body camera footage of the stop shows police officers barking contradictory orders at the driver, who does his best to comply, before mercilessly using a taser on him. The man, who was later charged with resisting arrest and driving the wrong way up a one-way street, says he was not informed about the reason for the stop before police brutalized him. Police Accountability Report examines the facts, and what it tells us about law enforcement's broad powers to deploy force against civilians.

Only you the people can address the very very bad situation you’re in.. It’s time for revolution.. bloodless of course.. you will find if you ever get the job done how simple the fix is..(. Eg. 20 billion to end homelessness.. tax on billionaires and levies to have free healthcare.. college debt to be overhauled and forgiven.. having new adults face the world with stress and debt is a crime committed.. The deficit it smoke and mirrors.. the right wing playbook is a proven and effective way to usher people into a fascist base.... projection etc. sorry to rave but here’s something you don’t know.. the world at large and in general love love the American people... to have our backs when there’s trouble makes us forever grateful but when we learnt what a mess you politics are... anyway.. all my love..

Even though ALL the evidence, except for her lies, backed me. She literally kicked in my door and it was recorded on the 911 call. But the cop couldn't be bothered doing his job. This has severely affected me. I am a woman with end-stage. renal failure, plus a SEVERE neck injury, and she was whipping me around by my hair. It wasn't until she started kicking around my kidneys, that I took out my pocket knife and did just the bare minimum I had to do to get away, and while I was on the phone with 911 she kicked in my door to get to me. • Thank you for mentioning this! Now I admit I am not an expert, but in my experience drug dealers take very good care of their cars and nearly always have them spotless. I have even seen addicts earning their pill for washing the cars of dealers. Towards the end of the body camera footage you can hear the officers shout to get the second person out of the car.. there was NO second person. It is as if (now this is not a legal opinion) these officers literally made every mistake possible in what should have been a simple traffic stop where they offered to HELP the young man get out of an unfamiliar neighborhood and on the way to his delivery! Thanks for your comment! -taya

  • The officers in this incident seemed incapable of understanding perfectly normal, unthreatening behaviour. It's like they live in some Cop Bubble, where interactions with civilians are practised only with other cops, who of course understand each other's mentality. If, as a civilian, you are unfamiliar with cop behaviour and perceptions, and consequently are confused by how they're acting towards you and what they're telling you to do, the police seemingly can't interpret your behaviour as confusion, and see it as a threat instead. They simply don't understand ordinary people's response to unjustified harsh treatment. I've watched a lot of police brutality videos, and a common theme runs through most of them. People have self-respect, and expect or insist on the dignity of their personhood. The police conceive of their authority as essentially the power to disregard that dignity, and believe that authority must be protected, at absolutely any cost to the civilian. Mayhem ensues.
