Now it's 2024 ah I'm so proud of them specially Jungwon since he's my bias and also the leader of the group
2024, it proves this is right. Jungwon grew up so fast in these years. He has firm and strong personality to face difficulties, and the ambition to achieve higher goal, while he also has the soft side such as empathy and considerate to members.
I know people didn't expect that Jungwon will be Enhypen's leader. But when he did, I personally think it makes sense. Seeing from the past Vlive, Jungwon always able to lead even in the very first few vlives when they're still a bit awkward. You can see it since I-Land that he's very sensitive in a way that he's able to read the situation surround him and response accordingly. He is considerate and always looks out for other members and able to respectfully give support for his hyungs while doting on the younger one (even though it's only Niki lol). I kinda think maybe we didn't realise that Jungwon has this this leadership qualities because he's young, and just like Sunghoon said, the image of 'cute dongsaeng' just automatically attached to him, so we unconsciously 'dismiss' him as a potential leader candidates. But, the fact that he already has this leadership characters at such a young age meaning that he has a great potential to be an amazing leader! So I'm really looking forward to it, although I'm honestly a bit afraid because there's still some, even from the 'fans', that are doubting him so I hope Engenes can support him well!! :)

I started following them closely only recently and kinda knew Jungwon as leader. Then I binge watched I-LAND and while doing that I relized he's actually younger than Sunoo (how wierddd) and close to Ni-ki in age and I still cannot process that information. So I came here the other way around than you I-LAND ENGENEs and to me him being leader seems more natural and him being a maknae makes less sense 😂😂

it’s been a year since jungwon has become enhypen’s leader and he’s been doing great! i see no member in enhypen that fits the leader position as much as he does. he brings so much balance to the group! you could really see his connection w everyone. it still amazes me how he became the leader at only 16 years old. we’re all so proud of you, jungwon!!!

I have just recently entered the fandom and I've get to watch a few I-Land Episodes and their variety shows. In my opinion, there are lots of reasons behind his selection that BigHit chose not to disclose. It makes so much sense that Jungwon was assigned as leader because he has this sense of maturity and has a wise thinking. He seems to be really smart and is always ahead whenever there are situations that needs to be addressed and he is very reliable for his age. I love how BigHit knows and values his potential despite being one of the youngest members. I know this is just the beginning but I can already see that he can lead Enhypen into a great future. Fighting our sheepgarden!

Actually, this might also the same story of TXT. Why Soobin being the Leader instead of Yeonjun. Yeonjun is the oldest and also the All Rounder of the group. If he became the leader same as heesung. I think they would feel more pressure and ended up being depressed cuz they have so much responsibilities to handle. i'm still a new engene but it gets me soft to think that jungwon was assigned as the leader but he possesses (probably) all the qualities that a leader must have. he is extremely understanding, observant, calm in a positive way with regards to dealing certain situations, and more. during i-land when he was the leader for the bts test, i just observed how calm he is of a leader yet he still does what should be done: he supports the members, helps them, encourages them, and he just has this calming aura around him that makes one feel safe and be more at ease. he's always so observant and sensitive around the other members too, listening attentively to what one has to say and is so considerate. everyday, i try to learn more about them and my heart leans more to grow on jungwon. he is so amazing and he's been proving himself since day 1.
I really appreciate Heeseung turning down the role. He may be quiet and funny, but he exudes this "alpha" vibe and members have indicated several times that he can be scary. I've noticed that he has a sharp tongue, one that he tries to restrain. So allowing himself to be just another member also allowed the others to get closer to him more, with him becoming their older brother rather than their "work lead". Jungwon is a great choice, and I'm really glad the members chose him too (figured the management asked them to pick two possible candidates). He's able to lift the group and covers all the dead air, but at the same time allows everyone to speak their minds. He's very detail oriented and sensitive to the members' needs and quirks. He knows what they like and dont like. And he's sassy. Leadership suits him well. 🧡

He really is thoughtful and decisive. In some ways (I don't mean to compare people, Heeseung is a special individual, so bare with me) Heeseung is like a mixture of BTS RM and Jin where he is able to lead a group (like he did on I-Land), listen to others' opinions, give advise, and trying to be an example for the group as he is the oldest brother along with being a great vocal and dancer. HOWEVER, that happened because the other boys chose him to take that position then due to having more experience and expertise in dance and singing. BUT here, Heeseung chose not to do so for the group because he wants to try to be of more help in other ways for Enhypen without stacking so many roles on his shoulders. The fact that Heeseung said he will be there to offer advise, opinions, and guide Jungwon along the path of leadership just makes Heeseung look even more like a wise, caring, and thoughtful other brother (Like BTS Jin😊) Jungwon is a very talented, warm, understanding, patient, sweet boy who is willing to listen and learn from the other boys in the group and he, along with the rest of Enhpyen want the group to do well and grow to be the best idol group that it can. I believe in you Jungwon, I know it will be difficult and stressful in the beginning when learning to be a leader for a group, but I'm sure you will do well. Just know that its ok to make mistakes and you can always improve yourself. You all are still growing as a person both physical and mentally, so have patience for yourselves, try to have be open-minded with each other, care for each other, support each other, and most important, LOVE each other and YOURSELF. Once you are able to love yourself and love your team members, it will help you all to achieve and succeed in whatever goals or challenges that may/will come your way.

For some reason, I sometimes cry when I see videos that contain Jungwon with sad things. When I saw his face, I could feel the weight he was carrying on his shoulders. He has to be a leader at a very young age, and take care of 5 older people and 1 younger brother. I hope you don't keep all your burdens to yourself. Don't think too much about what people say about you. You are so amazing, have survived till now. I hope, we can see you getting better in the future. You are really a great leader, Jungwon. We, engene, will always support you. Be yourself, and be happy always. Don't make this a burden for yourself, because the goal is achieved to have fun, right?
Some also doesnt see that he was attending school that time while being a member and leader of enhypen. He has a lot on his plate. Thats why he got sick one time and he wasnt present on their promotions.

I discover Enhypen from Rhythm Hive, which I actually play for SEVENTEEN at first. Then I watch some videos of Enhypen, there I got attracted with Jungwon. I could see how amazing he is as leader even I only watch some videos. His personality and his pick of words are showing his leadership. Such a wise and tactical choice...nothing is done shoddily or without deep consideration. Jungwon has the personality of a charismatic and thoughtful leader. There are others who would be just as capable but for the situation. However part of being a great leader is you have a team that is willing to follow and doesn't want to let the leader down. In this case, Jungwon is the glue of group and the best choice.
You all can’t even imagine how proud I feel 1 year later… he grew so much, and tbh I’m feeling a bit emotional knowing that it’s already been one year. Our leader is getting so well and he’s caring to his members. I’m so proud of them all 😭 Edit : I wrote this 9 months ago, and I came back to watch this again, guess who’s crying ? I love them sm, they’re so amazing, i feel so proud of them, and I hope they’ll get even more successful in the future, as they deserve it.

Nah tbh fans aren't dumb. From what they've shown us so far, Heesung and Jay have been the ones to successfully become leaders and take care of the members and show their best parts on display. Jungwon might be a good leader in the future but he's not really shown anything leadership worthy in I-Land so far so there was no way we'd know lol. So on this occasion, we're not dumb 😂😂

I am back here, and its been past a year already and Jungwon has proved enough that he is worthy of the position given to him. He maybe younger, but he did so much for the team. The members even said that he is the most hardworking out of all of them.
From what I see, BigHit usually give the leader role to the middle member. Not the hyung and not the maknae. Probably it's their way to balance the whole team - if the leader is too young or too old, he might have some problem in communication as the age gap is big between leader and the members. So choosing the middle member as the leader sounds like a very good team planning that's been used in BigHit for a few years now. Edit: or maybe BigHit just wants their leaders to have dimples lol
