I love ❤️ your videos, and your delicious 😋 recipes!! Your presentation and instructions are perfect!
Thank you!
@@SipandFeast You’re welcome! ☺️
I love watching your videos and you are the best American Italian cook on KZhead! @Jim,please show us "spaghetti all'assassina" one day in the near future.🍅🧄🥬🍝🌶
Can you make a chili video
I personally love love love it when you go over the ingredients...I feel better prepared for a great meal! Thank you and I've made many of your recipes and no complaints yet! In fact they've got all 10's (no offense to your taste tester).
Thanks so much, and I'm happy you feel better prepared after watching!
Cannot be over-emphasised how much time and trouble is saved by having all your ingredients laid out before you start. Mis en place. No last minute panic, no over or under cooking elements in the dish. Literally no skill required - just process. That said, I am more impressed by your son being so into mushrooms. Admittedly, mine are a little bit younger but it’s more like garlic to a vampire. Constant lies as to what the small bits are will prevail.
@@gregstevenson7401 Mis en place … I absolutely agree!!
Hands down the best male cooking chan. Haven't heard cussing. Politics. Or use of expensive foods and cookware. Keep it up your family makes it gold.
PARCHMENT then foil!! OMG that's GENIUS!
Gosh, I hope this doesn’t sound weird but sometimes when I’m doing chores or running errands, I’ll play your comforting pasta recipe playlist and dream about the food I’m gonna (re)make later 😭 but honestly, you’re the real comfort! Love everything you do Jim! 💛
So happy you enjoy the videos, thank you for watching!
I do the same thing!!!
Totally agree - I watch videos even if I've already watched them and even if I'm not making it in the next few days, because they're just nice to listen to. :)
He IS! just normal chill guy ❤
I'm the same. I also notice when he rewears certain flannel shirts! This family is like my KZhead hygge channel.
I agree with you 100% Nutmeg with any cheese sauce, or anything with spinach, is so great❤ This is perfect for meatless Monday!
I love the idea of parchment paper between the pan and the foil! Too many times I’ve had the cheese and pasta stick to the foil. 😋
I absolutely love that you go over the ingredients at the start. That lets me know what's in the dish (and hits at how complex it is).
I like knowing that having all the ingredients is the hardest thing about these recipes. All I need is to go to the store if I'm missing anything and I'm good to go!
Looks delicious. Combination of pasta, muschrooms, spinach and various types of cheeses must be awesome.
Going over the ingredients only takes a few seconds and is helpful - don’t stop.
Ha...I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who pauses and has to move something to a bigger bowl! Sometimes I end up with 2 or 3 bowls I messed and then discarded for bigger bowls. I am going to try a personal "Meatless March" and this would be a perfect dish for that month. All the flavor, no meat.
Been on a huge mushroom kick lately, excited to try this, might simplify it a little because I’m lazy 😂
Do not change the formula of the episodes....it is winning and will continue to win.
I love that you review the ingredients; please don’t stop!
Absolutely agree
It’s good he shows them first because if you make the dish a few times you just need to see the ingredients lined up without watching the whole video again.
oh how I can relate to the excitement of sharing a dish you are proud of with your loved ones 🥰 very wholesome
You're probably the only KZheadr I watch where I don't skip sponsorships. Thanks for taking sponsorships that are actually relevant to your content instead of advertising garbage mobile games like everyone else does.
As someone that is lactose intolerant I've decided that I sub out anything related to cream and milk with coconut cream/milk. I can tolerate a bit of the grated cheeses so I can add a bit of it.
Every cook has that person they love, who they make sure gets some of the best bits!
Ohhhh Yeah!!!Craving Pasta an Creamy Cheesy Awesome Mushrooms!!!Anytime is a great Time !!Looks sooo yummy good !!😋
*Making money is an action. Keeping money is a behavior, but "Growing money is wisdom" | figured this out a week ago. ❤️👍
Whenever my son comes home for a visit I make a pasta casserole as it’s easy to pop into the oven when we get home from the airport. I’m gonna try this next time he’s home - I predict it may become his favourite. Thank you!
Hey Jim, I'm currently lying in bed recovering from a surgery. I'm in a lot of pain and concerned about complications, but for now the worst of it is over. I wanted you to know that your videos always put a smile on my face. I got into cooking for myself last year and KZhead cooking communities like yours were a big part of that. I'm looking forward to trying this recipe for myself once I can stand on my own two feet again. Thanks for everything you do and keep up the good work. Best wishes.
Thanks so much and best wishes for a speedy recovery.
9:28 Smooth as silk.
Made this for my father who is the kind of guy who doesn't consider things a meal if there's no meat, but I won him over by adding some pan grilled pancetta at the same time as the roasted mushrooms. And honestly, the extra saltiness was manageable and I think complimented the ricotta.
That was a great call to roast the mushrooms rather than sauteing them! 💯
You have opened up my cooking world. I thank you AND my husband thanks you. Best to you and your family.
Is this the first time your son gave you a 10 outta 10? I love how this is a vegetarian dish too, can you please make more vegetarian inspired ones?
He's given a 10 once or twice before but they're not common.
Right James always a good judge 👍 roasting mushrooms in the oven is really a good tip so the weekend meal is sorted 👍😍🤣
Hope you enjoy it!
I about died at the "cooking bro" black glove comment!! It's so true!
First off your channel deserves far more views, love your no nonsense recipes. A nice tip I learned from ATK, IIRC, is to halve the amount of ricotta and replace it with cottage cheese, this singular step adds so much creaminess and needed moisture to ricotta based pasta dishes.
Your presentation from my view point is great for all cooks but particularly instructive for people learning to cook. Streaming the spinach in the microwave saves pots and pans. Parchment paper use especially roasting the mushrooms in the oven on a Parchment covered uncrowded sheet pan saves on washing up. These tips help with avoiding a big sink full of clean up for a new cook. The mess at the end can be a deterrent to cooking. Thanks so much. Keep cooking.
Made this last night and it came out great. I really appreciate the layers of flavor in this dish. I almost left out the thyme but I’m glad I ended up putting it in anyway. Roasting the mushrooms in the oven gave it some great depth and the fontina was a nice change from the “usual” cheeses. I did use frozen spinach rather than fresh because I just didn’t have the time and I don’t think it made any appreciable difference. Nice option for a meatless meal! Served it with a side of rapini of course 😁😁😁
Keep doing the ingredient overview, it’s really useful. And congratulations on getting top marks from the taster! 😁
Your whole channel is such a treat to watch. Thank you for sharing your recipes!
Cooking bro!😂 That's why we love your channel -- no cooking bros in this house, only great food and great reviews!
Mr. Sip, this big baked pasta dish is excellent for families. Easy to serve, relatively easy to make with ingredients you can find at a supermarket (of course, the Italian store is better). Mushrooms & spinach, a good earthy combo. Italians often will put nutmeg on dark greens. Your bright son corroborates your good taste and wholesomeness.
If your wife is yelling at you to wear gloves while YOU’RE cooking, you’ve got bigger problems!😂 Love the Norcina, family fav. This will be another FAV! Happy New Year to you and yours.
Ten Jameses! Outstanding! Woo Hoo! Great start to 2023! The only thing I’d suggest is to think about deglazing the mushroom pans with just a couple tablespoons of water, stock or wine?
Love the way you go over the ingredients. Far too many cooks/chef's just read them off quickly and half of them don't even give you a printable recipe. If I have to sit and rewatch and pause over and over I won't make it. I've stopped watching some KZhead cooks because of this. This looks fantastic. Looks like something I could make and take over to my mom's house 😁 Thanks Jim 👏👏
I soooo wish I could make this. Husband is on low sodium diet, and this is way beyond anything that is allowed. I miss such baked pasta dishes! But I enjoyed watching!
Love this one! My daughter is a vegetarian and I know she will love it. She’s nuts about mushrooms, garlic and cheese, the whole family is, so I know this will be a big hit on our dinner table! Thank you so much Jim for all the hard work you put into your wonderful recipes and sharing them with all of us!
Only an award winning teenage taste tester could identify nutmeg! Way to go!
Yours became my favourite cooking channel. It's real, the recipes are right up my alley and love seeing the family get involved at the end. Happy new year!
I would definitely try this one. I love ALL the ingredients in it. James gave this one a 10. All the MORE reason to make this as soon as possible. Thank you for another great dish!!!
I gotta say, I have learned SO much from watching your videos. The thing I've learned the most is to take out all my ingredients beforehand and set them up like you do! It has created so much simplicity for me now as I'm no longer hunting for the ingredients while I'm trying to cook at the same time. I'm such a scatterbrained and visually impaired so when you lay out everything you're using and go over it, that allows me to do the same thing at the same time LOL I can't wait to try this one!
Me too!
Man, does this recipe perfectly fit what I've been imagining for a baked pasta. Love your videos. Cheers!
Totally excited about making this for my family tonight. It looks delicious and all your recipes are blue ribbon winners! And funny but we talk about you guys when we’re eating your recipes! Heroes!
Love your channel, even though I have to figure out how to "veganize" most recipes. The flavors are terrific! 👍
I always grate my knuckles so I used a garlic press. My favorite kitchen tool.
Love your family dynamic. Good stuff.
So glad I found your channel, love the dishes you make and how you actually teach how to cook instead of "follow this recipe exactly " you are teaching techniques and flavor building. From knife cuts to heat management all the way to a delicious final product. Also, the way you adore your wife and kids makes this a top notch cooking channel. Kudos my friend and keep up the good work.
THAT MINI GRATER 😂❤️😁
I made this! The delicious aroma emitting from the oven was incredible! I made the recipe as written which is a lot of for one person. I have two dinners to freeze and two more 'plates' for the next couple of days. Lunch or dinner. This is fantastic! Definitely going into my recipe binder. THANK YOU!
I agree it absolutely helps when you go over the list and I always appreciate it, especially when you point out options, what can be left out, and even which stores have the cheapest ingredients, etc.
This is going to be my next decadent meal for me and hubby. He LOVES mushrooms!
Made this tonight for my husband, and he loved it. We both did! My 7 year old even tried it and liked it! Perfect belly-warming comfort food for a cold winter day. Thanks for your amazing recipes!
Please accept this as my application to be a taste tester 😁
When your video came up on my feed and I saw mushroom in the title I had to watch. Was not disappointed. I’m planning to make this soon. I’m a new subscriber! 😊
Whenever I use greens I grate a little nutmeg into the recipe. Don't need a lot, but it does make a flavor difference.
I am impressed that he knew the nutmeg! Future chef!
I so enjoy seeing you and your family having fun!
The Taste Tester is absolutely right - this dish is a 10! Everything goes so well together! Keep going over the ingredients! Love to see everything sitting there waiting to go.
I watch a ton of Brian Lagerstrom alongside your videos and I'm going to laugh every time he puts on the gloves now. Bro moment! Jokes aside, this looks amazing. Can't wait to make it and I hope your family had a great holiday season!
I also watch a lot of Brian Lagerstrom videos! He and Jim are my favorites!
This is sooooo crazy you’re making this! I always make this and everyone I bring some to acts like this is some concoction from my imagination lol. I’ve also made it with ground turkey italian sausage and it is 🤌🏼chefs kiss.
I made this recipe tonight -- followed everything exactly as you did and I have to say....hands down best pasta recipe ever!!!! The broil at the end is 👌👌🤌🤌
Hahaha James cracks me up every time it looks amazing
I tried this last night, and it was incredible. Casual enough for a family dinner and sophisticated enough for company. Bravo!
this is like top 5 fav cooking channel
You recipe's is to fead a family you explain it to the tee,.. BRILLIANT
"Yeah, that's true" You're the man brother!
Love watching your cooking shows. Someday I’m going to make one of your recipe’s. Your son is adorable!
Can’t wait to try this. Looks delicious!
Making this now and adding chicken I browned the deglazed with cooking sherry and topped on top of pasta mix. Seasoned pasta with Italian season and chicken with Old Bay. Looked amazing going in oven.
Just beautiful. Definitely making this.
Tip for getting the olive oil in every nook and cranny of the mushrooms without having to mix as much and waste olive oil....One of my favorite gadgets is the Misto oil sprayer. You just pour in your good olive oil, pump it to pressurize the bottle, and then it sprays like cooking spray. This recipe looks amazing. I want to jump through the screen and devour it. Mmmm. You make the best-looking food. Keep it up.
Roasting the thyme with the mushrooms blooms the seasoning before adding to the casserole
Delicious recipe. Thanks for sharing.
I love your pasta dishes. Another one for my family.
This looks amazing and can't wait to make it.
That looks absolutely delicious 😋
Can you please make suggestions for side dishes with your recipes. Enjoy the channel 👍 Thank you
I can’t have red sauce due to gerd and arthritis so this hits the mark. Absolutely love mushrooms and was looking for a veggie dish to cut back on meat during the week
This isn't the first recipe I've made from you and brother, they're always hit! I got a few more lined up. I usually make these for myself and can get 3-4 days of dinner out of it. Best home cook on this platform!
That was wonderful!! It looks so DELICIOUS!
This is another recipe I will be trying! I never thought of putting parchment, and then tin foil, what a great idea. Your son has really started to refine his palate and correctly guessing nutmeg 👏Thanks Sip and Feast! 🍝
Happy New Year! Hope you and family had a wonderful break!
Looks amazing.
Yes, I do really appreciate it when you show the ingredients. Thank you! this looks so yummy!
happy new year, jim -- here's to another great year on the channel!
Excellent!! The love of family shines through. Thanks guys!!☺
Happy new year to you and your family!
super glad to see you getting the recognition you deserve. thanks to you and your family for all the hard work. love watching your videos.
Yes, going over the ingredients at the beginning of the video is quite helpful. Delicious recipe! At this point, I've made six of your recipes, and Italian Wedding Soup and this one are my two favorites so far. Thank you!
This such a wholesome channel! Great video! I’m looking forward to trying this recipe sometime this weekend
Delicious and easy!
LOVE your channel dude! Especially because you include your awesome family! Keep it up!!
This looks so delicious !! I will give it a try next week !! Thanks for sharing
Brilliant! Chef couldn't wait to dive in and eat. When you love to cook and eat, your food will always be good.
looks amazing
This looks amazing...going to make it this weekend!
As a recent convert to DeCecco and can say with confidence that it is more than worth it compared to store brand pasta.
