This guy has grown on me. Pay the man
Ryan Thomas tonight it's his night , I'm cheering for him after this interview
"I knocked out the bonus king ,did I get a bonus?...NO" 😂😂
Nice line!!
The fighters in the UFC are waaaay underpaid. Al got $26K to show, + $26K to win. This doesn't really cover his expenses. AND he's a top fighter.
+David Link the average American makes about 40k a year he's had to definitely live less than that to make money last. so a professional fighter makes as much as one guy working a year at costco. PROFESSIONAL athlete that's pretty wild
alex c...you are way off with those stats buddy but its cool
Regardless of the number. These guys are risking brain injury. You don't have to worry about becoming a vegetable stocking shelves at Costco. You also don't need physio and all the other treatments fighters pay for while training.
i agree. they should be paid far more
Max Wright : I feel that isn't the whole picture. Al does have a following. But more importantly, Other sport leagues , the Athletes get around 50%, UFC It's waaay less. UFC is ripping off most of the fighters. The bonus is giving hope like a lottery. Many fighters don't get enough for their expenses.
Raging al is the best al.
Alistair Overroid real estate al is pretty good aswell
He could be a character on South Park
FiRe247
Alistair Overroid z
Anyone who wants to be an MMA fighter should watch this and rethink
How can anyone not like this guy? Good fighter, intertaining and give zero f... respect
Sebastian Jamie Dobson I don't like him.
Sebastian Jamie Dobson he looks like Aaron Hernandez
I don't like how he acts in the cage after the fight, but I love how he stands up for the fighters pay
he speaks the truth-the fighters get ripped off
Chuck Schick He looks like Kurt Angle
PAY THE DUDE!!!!
pay mighty mouse and black beast
Bellator is looking for awesome fighters to snag from UFC, I wonder if he will go talk to them about a real paycheck?
Alex Barron pay woodley
Alex Barron pay them all
Your absolutely right. He's going to be able to get a lot of sponsorship money over in Bellator too.
It's appalling how little the UFC compensates their elite level athletes. Enjoy your 4 billion guys.
I dunno... KO Sanchez, beat Masvidal, TKO Lauzon, TKO Pearson that's a pretty impressive run. With that in mind he could very well be top 10
I'm not just talking about guys ranked in the top 5; I'm talking about athletes that are good enough to put on TV as a co-main event for the biggest fighting organization in the world.
Look at his last 5 fights. He is a very high-level elite fighter. Just because he isn't top 5 or 10 doesn't mean he isn't "elite"
Yeah the Lightweight division rankings should really go to like 30 or 40 and not stop at 15 because theres over 100 fighters in there and most of them are pretty damn good.
Co-main event doesn't mean nearly as much these days when there's an event every week. Artem was in the main lol
All UFC fighters benefit from Al Iaquinta taking a stand. If fighters want to be paid more, they have to stick up for themselves.
HipHop Anonymous all UFC winners dude. If a guy consistently loses. 50k is a waste on him.
its kinda weird that dana says he wants fighters to be entertaining and finish fights with KO/TKO, well Al finished 4/5 last fight and got nothing, doesnt make any sense to me
His fights arent the only fights on the cards, dipshit. His fights were not the most impressive ones on the cards any of the times he's fought.
thats because dana pays better if you are an ass kisser or a self made star, and he is neither, yet.
Al Iaquinta has quickly become one of my favourite fighters/people in the ufc in the past few days
He has every right to be pissed. Absolutely outrageous.
Compare to other sports like NBA, NFL, being a UFC fighter is really not worthy at all. U risk ur life to fight and got peanuts.
Do you expect everyone to be paid multi-millions? If so, you clearly have no clue what running a business entails. Do you talk the same about Boxing?
Sh.C youre an effing moron.
I am not talking about millions, but that guy has a point, they are on TV. The guy is top 15 and the co-main event, and he only got 60K? Why not go do a normal job, without a high risk of getting damage to ur body.
Rocky Moore 1. the average pay for top 15 divisional boxers is much higher than for ufx fighters. 2. it's not about these guys getting paid millions, it's about them making enough to survive and pay bills. Some of these CAREER fighters with excellent records are having to work other jobs just to pay their bills... that's ridiculous for a professional athlete. 3. the ufc as a company who sold for 4 bil can certainly afford to cough up more change for their top guys. Al Iaquinta is DEFINITELY a top guy but he's getting paid less than dude's he's defeated. That doesn't make sense.
actually UFC fighters get paid more per appearance than nba, nfl and mlb players.
What a badass
Moath A he's a dumbshit like you
NFL minimum, 0 years in the league and not even playing is 465K. The dude has a point.
that is hardly a point. Completely different sports with completely different revenues.
Let's give the UFC and MMA more time to grow. Comparing the NFL to the UFC and MMA at this point is a bit asinine.
AmsterdamHeavy so true ufc needs a set 60k yearly minimum wage for every fighter so they can survive and live a decent life if they get injured.
Rocky Moore compare it to hockey then probably the lowest revenue of the 4 major sports, guys in the minors get anywhere from 60k-500k a year
the hounds must be kept hungry, get down ! get down you mut !
How anybody can take the side of the company that takes 85% of the revenue, I'll never know
more like 95%
that's america for you bro
well all governments really, in a way the ufc is like society, by how it's survival of the fittest and the people at the bottom are made out to seem undeserving of money even though they are
@mike a It is. Just like the ones who work at world renown franchises, like McDonalds, and get paid so bad, that they need a second job so just that they can afford the rent and possibly have something to eat for them and their kids. It is a disgrace! Greed is what is killing the west right now. Far more than anything else. Big money is all about itself. Come hell or high water. And then they have the nerve of calling it the American dream.
Last 5 fights: Rodrigo Damm KO Ross Pearson KO Joe Lauzon KO Jorge Masvidal SD Diego Sanchez KO.... Pay the guy !
Feel like he's trying to get his release from the UFC. Scott Coker and Bellator would jump on him immediately and promote him correctly paying him what he should get paid.
Joel Salazar I thought the same thing
Joel Salazar yeah bellator is praying on his release 😂
Dana is about to cut him after this threatening rant
Joel Salazar Bellator doesn't pay more.....the only ones that go there can't hang in the UFC, or will never be champ...
Mike Perry's ok was better....Al Koed Diego Sanchez who is at the end of his career..... this guy is parinoid
he deserves a fuqin bonus after that performance, glad he spoke his mind.
After the Sanchez fight I really disliked him and his attitude but after watching this I agree with him, he is 100% right in what he's saying
Probably the best interview on the MMA Hour
This guy is the f@cking man
Dana white is being made out to be a joke
Justin William he is a joke, greedy bastard
Justin William or made out to be powerless. no longer his company
Raging Al = The long lost Diaz brother
Lol! He's the NY version.
Mad respect for him for speaking his mind .. fighters definitely deserve more than they get. gotta love that reality grind too
man he has won me over good for him out of all the fighters he is the one standing up for them not selfishly but for everyone
Best MMA interview ever.....real honesty.....real emotions.....i love this dude for that.....he said what should be said more !!!! Big UP !!
UFC needs more people to get on their ass like this guy
Love his honesty! Reminds me of the Diaz bros
Blows my mind this guy with so much talent and at his age gets a crappy 26k/26k
Al has the right tools to make a true union and make an impact. Much respect to AL, Ariel excellent interview
He raises a lot of good points. I just wish that for his sake, Iaquinta was better with words so that he could his arguments/points across. He has a lot to say, but has a hard time elaborating. But not all off us were blessed as scholars. Though, I like how he summed up his argument in a way that everyone can see and understand the biggest part of the issue, ...."I'm a professional athlete competing on live TV...Fox station, co-main event'...and he was paid 26 and 26. All while the promoter and his minions are being paid/making millions upon millions of dollars. Now THAT is ridiculous.
Speaking nothing but the truth!
P4P best honesty in the UFC.
hahaha no filter. gotta love this guy
Al will be fighting for Bellator very soon.
evan williams I doubt that.
he'd actually make a bit more with his sponsors back. the competition won't be there or the exposure but i hope more fighters jump ship and balance it out.
Or Khabib
This didnt age well
A shame Conor gets paid an astronomical amount of money compared to everyone else, it's pathetic really.
well he brings in an astronomical amount of ppv
MMA Keyboard Warrior That's very true but other fighters get paid pennies compared to McGregor
And the worst part is they're even stiffing McGregor, if he was drawing the same in boxing he would earn way more than he is currently.
even dana white's mother hates him that's bad
respect Iaquinta ! finally a fighter speaking up
the new nick diaz
Except he can fight.
Problem is he isnt thinking logically. They give out a fight of the night and two performance of the night bonuses. The reality is there were two much more imoressive finishes, and he was a massive favorite against Diego.
He is out of his mind if he thinks that his knockout was better than Perry's.
GoranKeoki he thinks the worlds against him
GoranKeoki... That's not the point of this genius... That's just something he's pissed off about. He has a strong valid opinion about the current situation for all fighters. He's not only speaking for himself.
He and perry deserved the POTN bonus. He knocked out a guy who's never been knocked out before in the first round after a big ass layoff.
TheOsamaBinLiner Sanchez got tko'd in the first in his last fight. Moreno finished a guy he was a big underdog against who had never been finished before and who was still in his prime.
Performance of the night. Knocks out Sanchez, who is one of the hardest heads and legend. Performance of the night for sure. Robbed.
Fair play to Al for speaking his mind and not holding back
You can almost tell, the people hating on Raging Al have to suck up to their bosses and are bitter. I love this dude, he's a fun knucklehead. How can you not like this guy??
Lol, you're probably not far from the truth. I like how Al described and imitated that asslicking mentality at 24:12 Many of us can relate as we have met people like that in all walks of life. I'm not sure If Al's perfectly right in his demands as we can't know all the details, but his honesty is refreshing and he seems to be spitting a good amount of truth. Like other guys commenting said, he reminds of the Diaz brothers.
love this guy wears his heart on his sleeve
That's underrated interview
My new favorite fighter
Wow good interview!
He is the incarnation of all UFC fighters rage and dislikes about their organization.
Love this guy, and Ariel doing his part to give a voice to the fighters... great interview, hopefully they do something about this soon... there needs to be some big changes...
mighty mouse and black beast have to get more money.
...and Mousasi.
Mighty mouse is only dominating an entire division easily and setting records.
Al Iaquinta is my new favorite.
Respect to Al for spking his mind.!
If nothing else.. The guy is brutally honest and means 100% what he says. You have to love that.
AL "RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE" IAQUINTA
I give the guy a lot of props, he steps up for what is right unlike all these other fighters
I love Al and agree with his opinions but he needs to learn how to represent himself better if he wants some progress
Ian Gifford He knows exactly what he is doing. He's trying to get released from the UFC so he can make a ton of money in Bellator.
i got mad respect for Al. Keep hustling boii
RESPECT
This guy can be a star... has the look, skill, tough New York attitude and can talk... UFC has something here
Really hope that there will be a union for the fighters soon, they are risking so so much out there.
The UFC won't pay Al now, especially after burning them the way he has. They know if they pay him now other fighters will try to go the same route as Al has. They'll make an example out of him, no doubt about it. Shame because he's an exciting guy to watch
Al is an amazing fighter and his interviews are fun to watch. Pay the man UFC!
love this dude selling houses and kicking ass
THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST INTERVIEWS ARIEL HAS EVER DONE! RAGIN' AL KEEPING IT REAL, HE IS THE MAN!
Al Iaquinta must be respected after this inverview , no one else has ballz to speak up like this he is for real
Al is my new favourite person. I hope he gets what he wants.
it needed to be said this way...
Wow if Bellator signs Joe Duffy and Al Iaquinta... That would be amazing for that division. Coker better be like I'll double your pay on both sides and you can have all the sponsors you want. Joe and Al are still young so hopefully they figure this out quick. Even Micael McDonald and Rory McDonald are only 26. If they promote guys like these the right way and keep signing legit talent... In a few years a lot of future pros will start seriously considering them over the UFC. Which is great for the sport because future top prospects before signing a contract with the UFC or after finishing their first contract will be like... Alright Dana, Bellator said they'll pay me this much and I can have my sponsors... So what can we do? And vice versa with Bellator.
HydroBud98 i see a few LW defecting to bellator. Coker could bring legitimate championship contenders in the LW division and the fighters get compensated much better. It's a win-win scenario.
Their WW division is already pretty damn good, their LW div is almost there. I'm really looking forward to 180, looks stacked, even Sonnon vs Silva, just for interests sake.
I love Al, finally someone standing up with balls.
What a legend! No mixing of words. Al for president!!!
I like this guy. Great fighter and humble. He makes sense they always screw the fighters.
Jeez this guy is speaking truths..
Great interview. I feel for the guy. To think that he didn't get a bonus for his stoppage of Sanchez is a joke and it goes to demonstrate that the system, as it stands, doesn't work. He got screwed because the UFC doesn't like him and that's not right. He did his job. He thrilled the audience. He should have been paid. The fighters need a union.
Love this guy man!!! Rage on Al Rage on!
Good for him, keep talking brother.
Never was a huge fan of this guy . For sure I am now. Speaks truth, regardless of what he knows will happen. #respect
Iaquinta's the man.
And new! Favorite fighter today
This guy is awesome. Seems like a stand up dude!!
Ariel is a great MMA interviewer, always asking the right questions and giving a judgement free platform for fighters to speak their minds. Love watching him interview people, super bummed UFC dropped him, they really lost yet another genuine talent.
Chaz Contreras you gotta be joking right? he trys to hard for drama.
JRE needs to have this video quality...best in KZhead
Chuck Schick what
Totally agree with Al
lol Diegos face before he got knocked out was hilarious
Professionel Fighters League (WorldSeriesofFighting) will be huge i think many ufc fighters leave ufc for that new MMA League.
WOW AL WENT IN!!!!
Good job Al! Speak your mind
I like this guy. Speaks direct, and fights direct.
"the TRUTH has a certain ring to it "
everyone saying al is being ignorant or anything else obviously hasent been watching mma long enough. haha al is the fkn man.
Smart dude if all fighters were like him the UFC would pay their fighters fairly.
hell yeah he's staying in Nashville that's my hometown cool people cool place
People forgot what a good fighter this dude is. He's on a 5 fight win streak and finished 4 of last 5. Granted, his win over Masvidal was imo at best a draw for Al, but other than Jorge he's finished his last 4 opponents and is now back in the top 10
Love Al. He's a beast. And he's right about the money and he's right about dana
This guy is great
Love this dudes mentality, keep making noise bout this, these guys deserve more money. I want to compete badly and make it too but I don't think the damage I'll make is worth the amount I could make in the future, not worth it for the amount of money these dudes are making
can someone find the video when Dana said "the best part was the plane ride home" ???
Look at the backstage interviews and post fight conference of UFC 208 fam on KZhead
gotta respect Al, Chris Weidman is a winer though. Mousasi for President !
Cosmic I think i know who you are you live in Glendale orbwhat
Cosmic that would be a boring country
Chris Weidman is a winner eh... lmao. Oops on your face.
winer** read much?
@Daveson Feel me
ONE thing i know artem shouldnt have get a bonus and im irish.. not one single time did he hurt his opponent ..ufc rule is for u to get a fight of the night, the two fight have to be hurt at a stage in the fight and fight through it.
yeah man...i agreed.not a big fan of him but he is right tho
The Man.
