  • The fighters in the UFC are waaaay underpaid. Al got $26K to show, + $26K to win. This doesn't really cover his expenses. AND he's a top fighter.

    • +David Link the average American makes about 40k a year he's had to definitely live less than that to make money last. so a professional fighter makes as much as one guy working a year at costco. PROFESSIONAL athlete that's pretty wild

    • Max Wright : I feel that isn't the whole picture. Al does have a following. But more importantly, Other sport leagues , the Athletes get around 50%, UFC It's waaay less. UFC is ripping off most of the fighters. The bonus is giving hope like a lottery. Many fighters don't get enough for their expenses.

      @MrSihanChen@MrSihanChen7 жыл бұрын
    • Rocky Moore 1. the average pay for top 15 divisional boxers is much higher than for ufx fighters. 2. it's not about these guys getting paid millions, it's about them making enough to survive and pay bills. Some of these CAREER fighters with excellent records are having to work other jobs just to pay their bills... that's ridiculous for a professional athlete. 3. the ufc as a company who sold for 4 bil can certainly afford to cough up more change for their top guys. Al Iaquinta is DEFINITELY a top guy but he's getting paid less than dude's he's defeated. That doesn't make sense.

But not all off us were blessed as scholars. Though, I like how he summed up his argument in a way that everyone can see and understand the biggest part of the issue, ...."I'm a professional athlete competing on live TV...Fox station, co-main event'...and he was paid 26 and 26. Joe and Al are still young so hopefully they figure this out quick. Even Micael McDonald and Rory McDonald are only 26. If they promote guys like these the right way and keep signing legit talent... In a few years a lot of future pros will start seriously considering them over the UFC. Which is great for the sport because future top prospects before signing a contract with the UFC or after finishing their first contract will be like... Alright Dana, Bellator said they'll pay me this much and I can have my sponsors... So what can we do? And vice versa with Bellator.

  • Ariel is a great MMA interviewer, always asking the right questions and giving a judgement free platform for fighters to speak their minds. Love watching him interview people, super bummed UFC dropped him, they really lost yet another genuine talent.

  • People forgot what a good fighter this dude is. He's on a 5 fight win streak and finished 4 of last 5. Granted, his win over Masvidal was imo at best a draw for Al, but other than Jorge he's finished his last 4 opponents and is now back in the top 10

  • Love this dudes mentality, keep making noise bout this, these guys deserve more money. I want to compete badly and make it too but I don't think the damage I'll make is worth the amount I could make in the future, not worth it for the amount of money these dudes are making
