False: Sniping existed long before the 1900s. Sniping occurred way back in the 1700s. Ref the Revolutionary War and 1777, see Timothy Murphy (American) or Captain Ferguson (British). In the 19th In the American Civil War both sides, North and South used snipers (Berdan's snipers with Sharps rifles on the North and the 16 'sharpshooter battalions' units trained by Major Dunlop with their Enfields and scoped Whitworth rifles). Long range sniping happened in other conflicts too. Look up Adobe Wells and Billy Dixon. Etc. :)

the worlds longest confirmed sniper kill from a Barrett M82 was beaten by a British sniper called Craig Harrison using an L115A3 and Lapua magnum rounds. The range was 2475 metres. Not bad considering even the manufacturer said it shouldnt have reached that far. That was 2009. More recently a Canadian sniper beat it again with a 3540 metres (2017).

Nope, you were lied too, i've seen first hand what the .50 rounds do to un-armored personnel. Without anything hard enough to fragment the round, it passes straight through, leaving an exit wound not much bigger than the entry. The only exception are direct headshots, as the skull is basically a solid container, the hydrostatic shock will cause rapid disassembly, but this is the same for most high powered rifles calibers over .300WM.

The Barrett and Chevy tac m200 are also in battlefield 4. The Barrett is called M82A3 and the Tac M200 is called SRR61. Also the SRR61 is the best sniper for long range since the bullet drop is not bad on it compared to other snipers.

A lot of military units use the .338 lapua. Maybe the most powerful, accurate and light rifle you will have with the most adversity. You don't need to shoot people into pieces, you just need to take them down. The 338 has an excellent track-record!

Nope, you were lied too, i've seen first hand what the .50 rounds do to un-armored personnel. Without anything hard enough to fragment the round, it passes straight through, leaving an exit wound not much bigger than the entry. The only exception are direct headshots, as the skull is basically a solid container, the hydrostatic shock will cause rapid disassembly, but this is the same for most high powered rifles calibers over .300WM.

.408 is not a novelty it has less recoil than a .50 and is more accurate and the rifle that uses it is a great long range precision rifle.
