Apple seriously needs to stop producing a new model per year for everyone and the environment’s sake and focus on making an actual quality product that is durable and can last over a decade and be supported in software. If they’re going to innovate, it should be vastly different and not almost identical to its successor.

I write this comment on an iPhone X . It run latest iOS perfectly. Look brand new . Battery life still ok. It’s not a decade old but I think it’s robust enough .

Many laptops and desktops are discarded not because they no longer work but because the current OS by Microsoft or Apple no longer supports the hardware. My printer’s manufacturer stopped providing drivers for my great printer too and want people to spend hundreds on a not-needed “upgrade”. Some laptops too are very fragile and break terribly very easily. I generally try to hold onto my devices as long as possible and I find it unacceptable.
Your comment would make more sense if the vast majority of iPhone users were on the latest and greatest from the lineup but that’s not the case. Furthermore, even iPhones of past generations are still good phones today and receive regular software updates. If you don’t personally think there is a big enough difference, then don’t buy it. I told myself when I bought my Iphone 8 Plus back in 2018 that my next Iphone would be the 15. Im a bit disappointed that there hasn’t been any REALLY big changes the past couple of years- appearance wise. Don't get me wrong its gonna be a big change for me going from iphone 8 plus to an iphone 15. But still... I kinda had hoped for BIGGER change XD.
Plus 7 and have noting new for update.
I got my 11 since 2020. I need a new one for work, actually nothing new, just those small changes they put to justificate the price increase. But they are all great phones though.

Depends on what you do with your phone. It's been enormous differences between the 8 and 15 series. Starting from the frame, screen resistance, display quality, image resolution video quality storage new functional and better keys software, and hardware improvements the list just doesn't end.
I still love my 8 and there is not a thing wrong with it. It just won't support iOS17 and for that I am screwed for my work apps. That's the only reason I will be getting a new phone. Otherwise I would still be using my 8

By 2027 the EU is forcing Apple to create phones with removable batteries, so I’d say buy a new phone in 2026-2027, whenever apples comes out with the new compliant phones. Removable batteries that you can easily swap, is a game changer.
I’ll upgrade next year! This will me my first year not buying a new iPhone. I guess I’ll go spend my iPhone money on a Samsung Z Flip5 or use it towards a Samsung Z Fold5.

Though I was looking to upgrade to the 15 pro max from 8 plus, I decided to do go with the 14 pro max instead because of multiple accessories I have for the 8 plus that would be obsolete with the 15 pro max. I waited 6 years to upgrade and I plan to wait another 6 years. By then, I would have gotten full usage of 14 pro max with current accessories.

So the difference is newer one just have slightly better battery and a different charger along with more 5x zoom vs the 14 pro max 3x zoom. It’s slightly more lite in weight in comparison.

Main reason to upgrade from the 14 Pro Max to the 15 Pro Max is the battery life. The 14 PM battery is not loving up to expectations, especially being at 91% in less than a year. Hopefully, the 15 PM will have a better life expectancy.

That really depends on you and your way of charging. You're just charging the phone incorrectly and too often. Yes, then your battery will go to shit. My battery on the 14 Pro Max is 100% after 10 months, and the battery on the 13 Pro Max is still 100% after 16 months. And just like the previous response, a battery charge on the 14 Pro Max also lasts me two days, and even 2.5 days on the 13 Pro Max.

These changes are minor from one another. The “major” differences I see is the battery life, the action button (even though I don’t care for it anyway) and the switch to USB type-C. The iPhone 15 pro has to be biggest disappointment I’ve ever seen Apple pull. Apple milked the lightning port until they literally couldn’t do it and I’m infuriated because the iPhone should have gotten USB-C years ago.

I got the 11 pro max, the 64gb storage is the main reason i’ll switch to 15, because of the limited storage it freezes and stutters, i have 1tb icloud and take alot of pictures, yet it’s at 64gb without ANY games or apps that aren’t necessary for me, can’t wait for 512gb and never worrying about storage again

I am only upgrading for the simple fact of weight!!!!! The 14 pro max is so uncomfortable for me now that I have been diagnosed with severe rheumatoid arthritis. My hands can barely hold this phone. I use to be one of those groupies at the store for the next upgrade. I’ve stopped upgrading since my xs max pro for various reasons now: - Other responsibilities have now become a priority and I’m more conscious about my spending. - Prices are exorbitant with each new release. - Like my view of a new vs used automobile, as long as I’m able to take advantage of its practical use for a fraction of the price, I’m satisfied. With so many apple products on the market, I am able save with the generation below and beyond because the features are not much different between the models.
