I was born in Sydney and have lived here my whole life. I love watching travel vlogs of people visiting Sydney for the first time and seeing their excitement and appreciation for all the things that make our city great. It helps me not to take it for granted and reminds me how blessed I am to live here!
hey! im visiting sydney soon, and im wondering for transport is it okay for me to use a debit card to get on buses/trains? thanks x
@@gracie3363 Yeah, it's totally fine. A debit/credit card is equal to the fee for an adult Opal card.
Hallo sir Apde A VA Alg Alg Sydney na Alg Alg video Tama mane rooj KZhead ma mane moklta reju ne sir
I've visited Sydney four times. You live in an absolutely gorgeous and wonderful city! It's one of my favorite cities in the world.
I literally just got back from my first ever trip to Sydney! You live in such an incredible city. I can’t wait to go back!
I feel these videos are never long enough 😊. Glad your having a great time in Australia
I agree!
Welcome to Sydney! I'm really loving your videos. You're both very likeable, the content is seriously authentic and the extra effort to research the correct pronnounciation of place names is seriously appreciated. Saying Bond-eye, not Bond-ee, earns you brownie points 🙂. 9:40: @Tia Ocean facing houses in Bronte and Tamarama will range from between $10M for an older, relatively undestated 3 bedroom house to upwards of $30M for some of the more palatial modern abodes. 14:31 @Cheveyo while the Vivid tourist cruises are expensive, for a real taste of Sydney you should use the reasonably priced public transport ferries. I can tell you from personal experience that catching a ferry to work in the city during summer is without a doubt the best way to commute. Take the ferry from Circular Quay to Manly during the day (as it's a muuuch better beach than Bondi) and then time your journey back to the city (or even better Barangaroo) so you catch the sunset over the harbour and city skyline. You'll even arrive back in time to see Vivid from the water. No need to pay $120. I can't wait to see the rest of your journey! So glad I found your channel before you really blow up. Travel companies and tourism boards should be paying you to promote destinations.
Definitely agree with sentiment re: Manly. If you go, get freshly baked sweets and outstanding coffee from Rollers and sit on the beach steps at the end of the Corso.
@@roon1sicunt Rollers for sure! Ham and cheese croissant and their coffee!
And just because those mansions aren't kep that way (to keep getting more expensive) out of people (who can afford them) just settling in those homes and keeping them that way, the law literally prevents any increases in supply to reflect demand that is obviously very strong for those areas. So instead of looking like Kings Cross or something, you just get some huge private mansions on very well-located valuable urban land. And that causes sprawl because it offsets the housing that does get built further and further away.
they're doing well with most place names but I noticed he keeps saying BATONIC instead of BOTANIC....it triggers me but that's a me thing...
Absolutely agree with the ferry suggestion. For anyone, its a fairly cheap, quick tour of the harbour, passing the Naval Base (Garden Island) with all its history. (It got attacked in WW2) You can definitly do roon's suggestion, or, If you turn right at the pedestrian road from the ferry at Manly you can walk to Shelley beach for food/swim, and walk up to the headlands there for an Ocean view and a nice shady place to have some more food or a rest.
Tia makes me laugh she gets so excited just like a little kid love it
honestly very funny dear
We locals need to watch videos like this. We easily forget about how unique Sydney is. Thank you for posting it on KZhead.
Can you drag me to Australia
Sydney definitely has a different vibe to other Aussie cities. If time allows, a trip out to the Blue Mtns would be well worth your while😁. Looking forward to the rest of your travels
Yes definitely squeeze in the Blue Mountains if time permits, absolutely stunning! You can get an express mountains train from Central Station
Each city is quite different to the others
Absolutely! Bus from Katoomba station straight to the best views in the world!
Can you drag me to Australia
Proud Aussie, but the reason the beaches were empty was be because it was winter! Come September to May! The. You won’t miss out
“Chish & Fips” is what my dad always used to call fish and chips for fun but didn’t know there was an actual restaurant with that name!😂
Can't stop watching your videos, you guys are making awesome content (:
I agree!! Love your content too stimpee, P.S. can recommend some great fishing spots on the Central Coast
Hahah stimpee, fancy seeing you here 😂
Hey Stimpee! Long time follower of yours. Glad to see you commenting on this great channel :)
Welcome to our wonderful city. My great, etc grandfather landed just where you were standing, from a ship called the Coromandel, in the year 1802. He brought his family with him, and with twelve other families, settled in the Hawkesbury River valley and started farming there. The efforts of these farmers literally saved the colony, as the convicts, soldiers and sailors who had come out earlier had no idea of how to farm, especially to farm land so different to England...
I normally can’t stand travel vlogs but you guys are doing it very well and you’re so fun to watch. I’m an Aussie and you’re doing a great job at representing our country keep up the good work :D
Can you drag me to Australia
Chev your attempt at an aussie accent isn’t half bad!!!! Tia’s eye rolls at this equal your eye rolls at her excitement about our big things 😂. So much fun watching you explore, I feel like I’m holidaying with you
Great looking Sydney themed Postcard. Awesome job Tia. 👍 You're videos are a highlight of week. I love touring my country through your camera lenses. ❤ Take care & stay safe.
Courtesy of ABC news: Perched on its own small peninsular along the famed Bondi to Bronte walk, the original 1920s bungalow has set a staggering new record. Known as 'Lang Syne', the home is understood to have sold at around $45 million on Wednesday, after hitting the market in November last year at a $47-52 million listing price.
You should find Dixon Street for cheap eats, mostly Asian and yummy! Bondi is filled during spring and summer along with all the lifeguards. The walk ended at Coodgee Beach, pronounced “could-jee” The loud bird was an Indian Myna Bird, not native to Australia.
Woohoo 🎉 welcome to my home! I feel like a lot of Sydney’s culture is hidden in its suburbs. Every suburb has a completely different vibe! Speedos we call budgie smugglers (budgie is short for budgerigar a small bird 🐦) Those houses will set you back a good 4-5 million at least. Oh and if you haven’t tried a snack pack yet it is currently the number one snack food in Australia! You’ll find the snack pack at any food court! ❤
Hey Kappy, I haven't come across the Sydney snack pack in my few visits to your city but I reckon I can predict Tia's reaction: BITE...impish smile...rapture"...Mmmm...so good." I've never experienced such joy watching someone else devour food. They're a really fun couple. I thought you might have organised a whip-round to pay ($700!!!) for their bridge walk by now...or at least a barbie at your harbourside mansion 😀
@@mrmockatoo6786 😂 no Harbourside mansion for me Mocky, if only… Also I didn’t realise the snack pack was just a Sydney thing !
@@Dr_KAP Oh, that's a shame, Kappy. I was looking forward to an invite to one of your soirees. The snack pack may be more widespread...but I don't venture far from the coop these days so I haven't encountered it. All this talk about food is making me hungry...I'm off to lay an egg.
Fabulous vid as usual! I did my Nursing training in Sydney..a million years ago, and my gorgeous cousins and asome nieces and nephews live there! I love visiting Sydney…Can I put my name forward for the draw on your postcard…I wasn’t sure how to do that! Thank you …
Can you drag me to Australia
The Vivid festival is great. It's been going for years now. It was started as a part of tourism initiative to get more people visiting Sydney in the winter.
She is a big country! Love watching you travel all round my home. Sydney harbour is stunning but I’m a Melbourne girl through and through but a very proud Australian first 🥰🇦🇺 also you are both so much fun to watch so thank you for sharing your travels with us all. 😊
You said everything that I wanted to say!
Melbournians are hardly Australians. Definitely a different breed
and Melbourne girls are prettier too.
Sydney Melbourne. Both have their own charm. Both Australian. Be proud.
Can you drag me to Australia
Pinchgut or Ford Denision was not built as a prison. It was built to protect the inner harbour and particularly during the Crimean War in the mid 1800’s as the Colony was concerned about the Russians entering Sydney. I was used to place convicts on the actually island earlier in Sydney’s history on starvation diet. Hence the name “ Pinch Gut”
If you like beaches, Manly beach is great, take the ferry from Circular Quay (itself is a great experience), then get some fish and chips & find yourself a nice spot.
It's so bizarre seeing people vlog in my home city. Thanks for this! Hope you enjoyed it.
Agreed it feels interesting. Like all the shots I see I know the place and have memories there.
Can you drag me to Australia
Australia has never been on my wish list of places to travel to ... until now. Thank you for once again putting together an informative yet fun video - just wish they were slightly longer.
The Algorithm plays a big part in why the videos are kinda short im sure 👍
It's is an amazing country full of laid back people and some of the most stunning ancient landscapes you will ever experience.
And you might bump into Chris Hemsworth or other well known actors etc in your wanderings. FYI Hemsworth is a major sponsor of Aussie Ark, a program to establish colonies of Tasmanian devils on mainland Australia, including one near my town/city of Newcastle, NSW. We go from subtropical rainforest to montane snow gum communities in less than 30km along parts of the NSW north coast: the Barrington Tops (1550 m/4750 ft) is where the Tassie devil colony is being established.
@@Feargal011 wtf no you won't come on
Can't imagine ever not wanting to see Australia
The pylon lookout is good value for an unobstructed higher view. And it shows the bridges history, including that a family of cats used to live in there, with pics of the cats sitting on the edge of the lookout taking in the view.🐾🐈👍
That annoying chirpy little bird is an India Mynar a distructive invasive species. He was the look out, his chirping wasn't random he was talking to his flock waiting for you to move away from your food, then he and four or five more would raid your abandoned food.
I was wondering when the chip attack would begin 🤣😃
As a proud Aussie I'll glad you're loving our country as much as we do and how each state has something different to enjoy. The higher north you go, gets even more diverse and spectacular. Love your postcards, you are so talented.
Can you drag me to Australia
Tia, you have such a good eye for design composition, I say this as an artist myself, and really admire all your wonderful postcards. Thank you for taking me with you on your travels in this, my, awesome country!
Thank you so much, that’s really kind of you ❤
Worked as crew for BA , we flew from BKK and SIN..we landed and went straight to the 24 hr restaurant, on circular quay..just watching people go to work on and off the ferries while we tucked into full English and a bottle of red, turned a lot of heads, then pop over to Manly for the crack ….good times
When i visited Melbourne it was too quiet out there with nothing todo or explore out, then I thought to do a walk around that Yarra river it was brown with too many rubbish strewn inside the river with a lots of empty used bottles and used pampers, guys it was giving a very bad smell. A few moments later I started bitten by mosquitoes 🦟 until when I decided to leave the place. In Melbourne it’s horrible. I got bad experience in Melbourne but Sydney I felt like I was in paradise. Sydney is ❤❤❤❤❤ Very clean and beautiful in Sydney
What dumb nonsense
@@ChrisJohannsen Melbourne is the nonsense capital I ever seen on earth
I love that Tia started drawing the post cards. This one is so pretty! Thanks for another great vlog. Sydney was never really on my radar but after this I’m really debating going.
probably an AI generator
Thank you Christina, that’s really kind 😊 And no, the postcards are not AI generated at all.
If you’re still here I’d suggest taking a ferry to Manly (or anywhere else really) and back. Cheap way to do a harbour cruise. Enjoy guys.
Guys, it was lovely to see my city through your eyes. Since the pandemic we've had so many problems and price rises that it's a treat to be reminded of Sydney's visual beauty, welcoming vibe and mild weather.
Can you drag me to Australia
Hey, just thought you'd be interested to know the median house price along Bondi is $3.6mil
And those are the ones with no view. 😢
Once you start to head north from Sydney you're in for a treat on the NSW North Coast. I'd highly recommend spending some time around Coffs Harbour and Bellingen, that are around half way to Brisbane. Must do''s around Bellingen include hiking in the World Heritage listed rainforests around Dorrigo (Dangar Falls and the Wonga Walk including Crystal Shower Falls are standouts) checking out Bellingen (great food and atmosphere), the boardwalks at Urunga (the famous rivermouth one, and also the new wetlands walk if you're there near sunrise). And at Coffs you have the walk through the marina to Muttonbird Island (great views and one of many whalespotting opportunities), the Forest Sky Pier lookout for unrivalled coastal views, two beautiful Sikh temples in Woolgoolga, or (local tip) if it looks like a good sunset, grabbing fish and chips from Sea Salt in Sawtell's fabulous main street), and eating them on Sawtell Headland as the sun goes down over the mountains. As well as the Big Banana, the OG '"Big Thing''. If you visit the Banana, check out the candymakers - they're more impressive than the Banana! Coffs is also a two-Aldi town! Between Sydney and Coffs places definitely worth considering checking out are South West Rocks (convict jail, lighthouse, super pretty coastal scenery - the short Jack Perkins track from the lighthouse to a small nearby beach is fabulous on a sunny winter day) or talking the Lakes Way between Bulahdelah and Taree (fabulous scenery and lighthouse at Seal Rocks, sunsets over the lake at Elizabeth Beach, the giant sand dune right in town at One Mile Beach in Forster). Between Coffs and Brisbane, as well as obligatory Byron Bay (walk to the lighthouse from The Pass), Yamba is fantastic but quite summer-oriented, and Brunswick Heads is more like the Byron that everyone fell in love with 40 years ago than Byron is today. Happy travels - been following your trip since Perth, and curious to see what you make of our part of Australia now you're here (I lived most of my life in Sydney, and now we're up where you're heading to next).
*the Promised Land in Bellingen
Whoa that light show was incredible. Well calling it a light show is honestly underselling it. Sydney seems like all the big "cool" cities in the US but it's actually cool haha. Makes me really want to go visit 🎉
Can you drag me to Australia
You guys nailed it on your last video - 37k views , 541 comments AND I asked for people to vote for Australia's best tour guide - Tai , you won !!!!!! just remember he's happy when you are happy great job you guys make my day THANKS
Can I say, I love the Opera House, it is actually one huge building. It is also the best venue to see a performance. When you are inside, you feel embraced. It never gets old. Love your work!!!
Our beaches are empty of Aussies in winter and packed in summer! Most of us aren't into the cold water 😊
I always look forward to watching your vlogs. The postcard of Sydney that Tia drew is so nice!
Can I just say well done for correctly pronouncing names of cities and locations the way Australians do. It shows effort and care about getting your content right. Nice work.
So glad you came to my home town! I used to live in Coogee where you got on the bus. It’s great. Now on the Northern Beaches. A few observations: - Sydney has excellent south East Asian food, especially as you get out of the CBD. Example, Marrickville has very good banh mi. We’re a nation of (mostly) immigrants and we love food. - yes Bondi was quiet but it will be absolutely packed in summer. Bondi is the finish line for the largest fun run in the world, the City to Surf (usually around 80k ppl) - I would recommend people check out Manly and the Northern Beaches as much as Bondi. Same nice beaches but with a different, more laid back vibe and far less crowded. Cleaner too in my opinion. You can catch the ferry from Circular Quay and the walk to Shelley Beach is to die for. The Pittwater region and Palm Beach are postcard worthy too. - to answer your question, property in Sydney is crazy expensive considering we’re the second least densely populated country in the world behind Mongolia. Expect to pay probably $1.5m for your average 2 bed apartment in Bondi. PLENTY more for the oceanside properties you walked past. - while it’s hard to argue Opera House/Harbour Bridge/Botanic Gardens isn’t iconic and naturally where people would gravitate to first, Sydney Harbour has many more gems, including Middle Harbour, Bradley’s Head where Taronga Zoo is, Balmoral, the Spit to Manly Walk, Watson’s Bay, Rose Bay and heaps of other beautiful spots. - well done timing your visit with Vivid. I drive home over the Harbour Bridge every day and it never ceases to inspire me. - I’m going to encourage people NOT to spend much time in the CBD. Having seen quite a few world cities, it’s fairly standard and not our selling point, except for the harbour around it. Hey great channel. I found you because I’m heading to Cairns later in the year for the first time and devouring any related content. Your video was great and I’ll definitely be doing a similar circuit in the Daintree. Subscribed!
great things to do in Sydney: Bondi to Coogee walk harbor bridge to spit bridge walk (this can potentially be an all day affair depending on how much of it you do and whether you take the full scenic route ferry to manly beach Visit Taronga zoo Maritime museum Great food in Sydney: Haymarket is full of incredible chinese food The western suburbs - places like Auburn and Merrylands have amazing middle Eastern food - Sydney is the best place in Australia for middle Eastern food. El Jannah is amazing and also cheap Cow and Moon in Enmore has the (official, they won the title) best gelato in the world; and the surrounding area has lots of great ethnic restaurants and bars
Beautiful Sydney! That's where I spent my entire teenage life. Hope you guys are having an epic time in Australia. I certainly did! 😊

The best part of Sydney is the blue mountains...........Wentworth Falls is were you want to head great views and free parking!
i've been travelling to sydney every year for business, but never have i ever enjoyed any of the things you guys are enjoying. Wow, now im excited for my next trip few weeks from now.
I get so excited when I see you've released another video. I've never been like that before but I'm really enjoying watching your trip around our beautiful country. Enjoy the rest of your trip.
You guys have to take a ferry ride from the Quay to Manly and check out the north side. Shouldn't break the budget. 😊
Catch the ferry to Manly. It’s cheap as chips and worth your while
Every Australian city is different... ...but for me the towns are best. Vivid or illuminate is a thing across Australia. Glad you are enjoying your time. Australia is a big place! 👍👍
Love the vids, as a South Australian its very interesting to see how our Country is perceived. You two are simply the best presenters of a no holds barred review as outsiders. Keep up the fantastic work and love watching your videos, been on board since you've landed in OZ. :)
Can you drag me to Australia
Love your videos. Make sure you take the ferry from Circular Quay to Manly, wander around Manly then walk to nearby Shelley Beach then walk up to North Head via Quarantine Station which is a must see. It’s quite a long walk but the views from North Head of Sydney harbour and the ocean are the best !
Tia is always smiling and happy. Beautiful
I'm pretty sure this is the very first time in my life I have used this word, but I find you both ✨delightful✨. I think some of us take Australia for granted and aren't that easily impressed so it's been a gift to watch you approach everything with enthusiasm and honesty (Cheveyo, I share your feelings about the big Merino). On another note, can I just apologise on behalf of Australians at the price of the Sydney Harbour Walk. That's absolute bs. I have just come home after spending 10 years in Paris, France and Bologna, Italy where things are so much cheaper than they are in Australia.
Can you drag me to Australia
I came a little late to the travels in Australia, but I’m enjoying them immensely. I am trying to watch them in order, but occasionally skip a few and then go back. I love your unbounded enthusiasm for everything you do and your infectious grins! Most of all I love the way you are presenting our country. I have been to most of the places you have, but never with quite the eyes you give it. Thank you very much.
Loved how you laughed about Speedos being alive & well in Australia but we tend to call them Budgie Smugglers. 😅
Go to Bondi Beach in Summer on a weekend and there will be 30 000 people there.
Guys!! This made me cry happy tears. I grew up in Sydney and moved away 20 years ago and miss it so much. Thank you thank you thank you for making this video!!!!!!!!🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
The houses on the coast of Sydney cost millions lol. Sydney is sadly one of the most expensive places to live in the world even in the suburbs, let alone the beachfront mansions 😬😬 Glad you guys enjoyed Syndey! There's heaps to do there, I holidayed there for a week a few years ago and loved it ❤ Also the lifeguards who work on those beaches are actual heroes. There used to be this great TV show called Bondi Rescue that showed what they did on a daily basis (particularly in the summer months when those beaches are packed) and how many lives they save - they are kind of legendary! So ritzy lifeguard stations are a must haha

Welcome to the Australian public bus service. What are the odds of drama happening on your first bus trip?. A bit like our trains and trams. Never a dull moment and expect the unexpected.
Welcome to Sydney!!! I am so happy to see you going to some of the amazing places that are not travelled as much by Aussies. And so happy to see you going to some of our amazing iconic destinations as well 😄 Just went to see part of Vivid this Wednesday night after work and it was packed!!!!!! You got a great spot for sure 😄 Have a awesome time in Sydney and your ongoing adventures!!! ❤
Wow, I usually feel like Sydney is way too peopley for me (being a QLDer now living in the Adelaide Hills) but seeing the extent of the Vivid lights on everything makes me want to put it on my 'too see' list! Oh and it's nice to see that Bondi in winter is actually lovely and quiet. Another wonderful video from the two of you.
I love beaches in winter, so much calmer to sit and have a coffee
I hope you have had a chance to catch the Manly Ferry. One of my favourite things to do when I'm in Sydney. ☺
A bit of trivia for u guys. Airlie beach @ the Whitsundays off Queensland , the sand from that beach was used by NASA to make the lens for the Hubble space telescope.
Used to enjoy the "Two Travelling Kings" on their adventures in Australia. Since they returned home, nothing from them. You two are as real and honest as they are, so you have filled the void beautifully. And thank you for taking our country to the world, you have showcased it beautifully!!
Can you drag me to Australia
I love watching these videos! You two are literally living my dream life and I’m so glad I get to be here (virtually) with you on this journey!!
You have to tap off when getting off the bus as well or else you get charged max fare.
You finally made it to my hometown! The bread they use in kebabs is called 'lebanese bread' and Sydney has the best and freshest "leb" bread in the country. -You should check out: Queen Victoria building (QVB in the heart of he city). -The Three Sisters at Katoomba in the Blue Mountains. It's about a 90 min train trip west of Sydney but it's so stunning. The walk down to the bottom of the valley is so gorgeous. -Manly and Manly beach. You get there by catching the ferries from Circular Quay. OMG it's so cool you're in Sydney. I hope you have a blast. OH, don't forget to explore The Rocks next to Circular Quay ❤❤
Hi guys! I love to see your smiling faces and that you’re enjoying our beautiful country! Tia you are so sweet and pretty! Enjoy the rest of your stay! 😊❤
I first came to Australia when I was your age. I'm really enjoying your reactions, which seem just like mine were... Loved it. I stayed! Perth now.
Great video. Spent 18 months in Oz, bought a car, & drove around the country , loved it, but absolutely loved Sydney.
*in regards to the houses in bondi* apartments in that area usually go for about 2-5 million depending on the size and location so the houses on the coast probably will sell for around 10 million.
Wasn't sure how far off the timing of your videos was to your actual travels, worked out well landing in Sydney during Vivid. The houses around Sydney harbour are among the most expensive in the country, you'd need a couple of million for basically anything there.
I'm a Melbournite, but it's always great to see videos of beautiful Sydney! Loved watching this one :)

Finally made it to Australia’s most beautiful (and expensive) city!
A 1920’s brick house (with a homemade brick bbq in the backyard) on land at the end of the headland above Tamarama Lifesaving Club - on the Bondi to Coogee coastal walk - recently sold for A$50 million. Insanely expensive real estate in these coastal suburbs.
Showcasing Sydney's lively vibes in the best light. Love your vlogs and glad you are both having a great time in Sydney. 😊
Awesome! I love that you guys are having a blast in Sydney. Good memories. Sydney is my favourite. Thank you for sharing your holiday!
Welcome to Sydney, guys. Enjoy! It is ironic that, when the Harbor Bridge was built in the 1930s, there were critics saying it was TOO big and would never be used to full capacity. Kind of different now. Quite the story behind Fort Dennison. It was originally just this big rock island and, in the convict days, earned the name 'Pinchgut Island' because REALLY bad convicts would be chained up and left there to starve. Then, the Colony's Governor woke up one morning (in the mid 1800s), and saw a fleet of warships moored out in the harbor - and they DEFINITELY hadn't been there the night before. Fortunately, they were friendlies, a squadron of the US Navy that had basically slipped in unnoticed overnight for a visit. It was decided then that Sydney needed better defenses, and so we got Fort Dennison. In ww2, there was a battle with Japanese submarines in the Harbor, during which the Fort took a glancing hit from the guns of USS Chicago - the mark from that can still be seen. "Darling" was the name of one of NSW's early Governors. You'll find his name comes up in various places. 'Macquarie" was another Governor - you'll find his name EVERYWHERE. Plenty to see and do in Sydney. One thing I suggest for your consideration is to check out Taronga Zoo. Use the ferry from Circular Quay, not a bus. Good ferry ride to a very good zoo (Sydney's oldest) AND it has the kind of views that rich people would probably sell their own children to have.
Make sure you do a ferry from Circular Quay to Manly. Not too expensive and gives you cruise vibes!
I've only been to Sydney once, but I really enjoyed it. It's very touristy, but in a good way and I'd like to go back someday. We wanted to do a harbour cruise, but because it was so expensive we just bought a ferry pass in Darling Harbour (for around $10 I think) and sat on it for its entire route out to Manly and back. :)
Most of those houses on the water would be well over $10 mill & the appartments would be $3 or 4 mill, some bigger ones much, much more at Bondi
3 bed apartment sold 7.7 milion
1 bed apartment 3 milion yeah dumps that need renovation under 3 milion
Always makes my day watching your channel! Enjoy Sydney!
I have lived in Sydney all my life and I have loved watching you two beautiful people see the sites in our amazing city!!! Thank you both so much for posting this wonderful video!!!
Great blog again guys. If you get chance one of my favourite things to do once I get off the red eye from Perth is to head to Circular Quay, get the early morning ferry to Manly for breakfast, a beach walk and walk to the Heads along the coast. If I had the cash, Manly is where I'd have a second home! 🙃
Sydney looks like so much fun! The postcard is beautiful!
Welcome! 🤗 We brought forward spring for you! 😄 The harbour looks so good, shame I'm stuck on the North Shore! I hope you get to do the Macquarie Street walk from Harbour to Hyde Park, the convict history is still all there to see, and experience! For reasonable price food check out Chinatown or Oxford Street, Surrey Hills eateries! Have fun guys! 😃👍

The biggest characteristic of all Australian cities is how relatively safe you will feel.
Thanks for the great review! As a Sydneysider I would make a few comments and recommendations. It is winter in Sydney right now, a nice time of year for generally fine days, blue skies and pleasant daytime temperatures (cool mornings!!), but that certainly accounts for the quiet beaches - water temperature is quite ok this time of year, about 19 degrees Celsius (perfectly swimmable all year), just that the prevailing offshore winds are not conducive to decent surf conditions for swimmers, so you'll find board riders and dedicated ocean swimmers, and the odd tourist, but summer and early autumn (up until the end of April) is when conditions are best, and when the beaches are busiest - between Christmas and New Year you'll find them absolutely packed (and also beaches other than Bondi are not patrolled in the cooler weather, so if you aren't experienced with surf beaches, swim at your own risk)!!! Bondi is Australia's most famous beach, but it is not Sydney's nicest by a long way. In terms of the Eastern/City beaches, Bronte and Coogee (on the Bondi walk) are much prettier, as are all of the Northern Beaches - Palm Beach is particularly lovely, and Bilgola set in it's little valley in a Cabbage Tree Palm forest. A number of the harbour beaches on both sides of the harbour are also lovely - Balmoral, Clifton Gardens, Chinaman's (if a bit racist 😲), Parsley Bay, Milk Beach, Camp Cove, Shark Beach in Nielson Park etc. The view from Sydney Tower gives a great perspective of Metropolitan Sydney and its topography, from the ocean to the Harbour to the Blue Mountains to the west. If you don't want to pay for an expensive harbour cruise, the commuter ferries are a very affordable way to see Sydney on a nice sunny day. I would recommend a train to Meadowbank and then River Cat into Circular Quay, which gives you a great perspective of the western reaches of the Harbour/Parramatta River, and change ferries for the Manly Ferry. Once at Manly, walk down the Corso to the ocean beach, then walk south around the bay to Shelley Beach, a nice protected spot for swimming and snorkelling, and for a picnic or coffee/lunch from the beachside eatery. Then if possible, get up to the lookouts at North Head for a spectacular view of the ocean, the entrance to Port Jackson (the harbour), and back to the city (bit of a walk from the ferry/beach, but 161 bus gets you to the Quarantine Station in the Sydney Harbour National Park, and it's about a 1.5km walk to North Head - and if you are in luck you might see an echidna or 2!) If you have access to a car, the drive from Manly to Palm Beach is incredible, and each of the more than a dozen ocean beaches are so different to each other. At Palm Beach you can walk up the beach to the Barenjoey Headland, and up to the lighthouse for an amazing view of Broken Bay, Pittwater and the beaches of the lower Central Coast north of the Hawkesbury River. You can then drive around Pittwater (marvelling at the thousands of yachts moored) and through the Kuringai National Park to West Head, with even more stunning views, as well as bushwalks etc (and Kangaroos, Goannas and other wildlife). The view is at its best on a sunny day in the cooler parts of the year as the air is clearest due to the offshore winds and lack of salt sprays in the air, and the sun being lower in the sky gives the light a more golden hue. If time permits, a trip to the Blue Mountains is well worth it. This 1million hectares of World Heritage wilderness, but you can access some great walks and lookouts from close proximity to the main Western train line and the towns/suburbs of the Blue Mountains along the train/Great Western Highway. Try Wentworth Falls (great relatively short walk down the falls and along the valley to The Valley of the Waters and back), Leura, Katoomba (the Three Sisters is a bit of a distance from the station, but well worth it), the lookouts near Blackheath (Grand Canyon, Govett's Leap, Perry's Lookdown etc), and a great view as well as high tea from the restored heritage Hydro Majestic Hotel at Medlow Bath. And in winter, one or two snow falls most seasons!
You guys have to get a ferry or two. Circular Quay to Manly and return at Sunset is a winner. Even the ferry to Parramatta is good.
I started watching you guys with the "Australia's worst thing" video. Seeing Tia's reaction to the The Big T...sorry Potato...cracked me up. You guys are just so watchable and genuine that I've gone back and watched all the Australian vids. And I've enjoyed every one. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your journey around our country. While you're in Sydney take some time to experience the Blue Mountains which is my neck of the woods. Tia will love the waterfalls 🙂
Can you drag me to Australia
Great to see you made it to Sydney during Vivid. Speedos are still alive in Australia, but more in Bondi than most places! The houses along the coastal walk are millions of dollars. Hope you take the Manly ferry before you leave (and while transport is cheap the $1 charge is just a holding charge - at the end of the day/week, they'll charge the rest, up to a cap). Sydney is absolutely like the California to Melbourne's Boston.
Melbourne's more like Alabama
I think Sydney is uniquely Sydney, Melbourne is Melbourne, Brisbane, Darwin, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra and Hobart all have their own personalities. The cities do not need to be compared to other places, especially entire states like California and Alabama.
Melbourne has more of a Portland vibe I think.
The Speedo company originated in Sydney in 1914 so no surprise the 'budgie smugglers' are popular there. Sadly Speedo is no longer Australian owned.
@@dimsoneill I think that's a pretty good comparison. Nice Tap reference btw 🙂
A minor point: Fort Denison was never a prison. It was a defence gun emplacement to stop foriegn (enemy) war ship venturing up the parramatta river to Parramatta and the original Government House, and Observatory. It is a Martello tower with a12inch (?) gun pionting straight down the outer habour. and any sailing vessel coming in would have had to cross in front of it and risk being blown out of the water. The prison island in Sydney Harbour was Cockatoo island just west of the bridge, it is now an entertainment precinct.
Tourism Australia should pay for you to do the bridge climb , you guys have made probably the best Aussie tour video I have seen
Spoiler alert: The guy from Crocodile Dundee was a painter on The Sydney Harbour Bridge before he was famous.
Yeah im with you guys. I wouldn't pay $350 to climb the bridge either.its just a bridge after all and the free view from the walkway is pretty good.. looks like you guys had awesome winter weather. Absolutely loving your videos. A nice sensible, fun couple enjoying discovering Australia.. it's no surprise Australians have embraced you both 😊😊
It is expensive, but because of the exposure it has to be treated like a rock-climbing trip. Harness, constant connection to safety rails, and a guide. That does not come cheap unfortunately.
Commenting on something you've never done....lol. Totally worth it
@@imac1957 yeah totally understand 😃 fair enough too. I used to rock climb outdoors and spend a fair bit setting up . Even working on roofs I've spent a fair bit on a fall arrest system. Plus they'd have huge insurance premiums. I don't think it's extortionate, just not something I'd be interested in. Totally understand if other people wanted to do it, and as my dad always taught me, if you want it be prepared to pay for it.
@@cappaman73 well mate, if you want to do it and are prepared to pay $350 for it, good for you. I spent my younger days climbing rock faces and I can say that climbing a bridge isn't something that interests me, especially at that price. What is it with people thinking they know how a complete stranger thinks. I spend half my life climbing ladders or scaffolding and it's not something I want to do on my days off. Fancy a man knowing his own mind and not having to check in with someone else.
Those houses along the coastal walk are multi millions dollar real estate. One house along there recently broke all the records when it sold for nearly 50 million.
"We are behind the bushes with cameras" is comedy gold! Nice work 😂 you captured the essence of Sydney without a big price tag. Coogee is a great spot.
