  • Going into this event Mac Neil was weirdly ignored by many international commentators even though she was the reigning World champion.

    @ColonelGreen@ColonelGreen2 жыл бұрын
    • Mostly because she navigated the rounds very quietly going "only" 56 mid while some of the others were really announcing their presence with sub 56 swims. Ultimately there's no prizes for winning the rounds.

  • MacNeil paces her 100 fly so intelligently which makes me wonder if Zhang would be better off being less aggressive in the first 50. She surely would be able to bring it home hard with her 200 fly strength.

Unfortunately I don't share any swimming genes with her because she's adopted lol, and she's my 2nd cousin, but I still think it's very cool. Edit: also she didnt realize she had won at first because she didnt have contacts in. As someone who wears contacts, I dont understand how she swims without them.

    • Makes you wonder if she grew up in China, would China’s National Swim Team identify her as a prospect? Not sure,….she’d have Parent’s who may or may not have been able to support her early swim passion, additionally, she doesn’t fit the China or any other country prototype….shortest one out there?!? Maggie had the passion to swim and win….all her and her supportive Parents and eventual Coaches.
