8 years later and still helping folks like me. Thank you for taking the time to make such a good video.
You just demystified the bolt and extractor. Really well-done video. You are a natural teacher.
despite taking 2 ak armorer courses and 1 ak building course and performing this operation numerous times, I still had to come back and refer to this vid. Thank you.
Just toss it in the dishwasher with your glocks
Thats scary lol
Try talking a cz po1 decocker apart! Lol
2021 and still one of the best bolt cleaning videos on YT.
I live about an hour west of the cities out in the country. I grew up in the Cottage Grove area most of my life though. I know right where EP is! It is a pleasure to "e-meet" you, fellow Minnesotan!
I truly appreciate the scope of your expertise and professionalism delivering accurate and reliable data. Thanks. Keep up the great work!
nsz85, great instructional video as usual. Newb to AKs and really appreciate your excellent use of macro photography.
Amazing tutorial! Just brought my first AK home today and wanted to learn how the BCG is properly disassembled, cleaned and reassembled! Awesome video. This was so helpful.
This was one of the best gun cleaning videos I have ever watched. Great video skills and excellent narrative on correct procedure. Thank you for solid work!
Absolute great how to video! Ive been needing to do this but was unsure how to. Your closeup shots were VERY helpful...Thanks mucho!
Thanks for the video. I had been nervous about taking apart the bolt as my firing pin also is spring loaded. Not only did your video do a bang up job of walking me through it but I was also relieved to see how little gunk was in there.
Does anyone else find watching this AK bolt being cleaned strangely therapeutic.
The Absolutioninist ;-)
The Absolutioninist Voluntaryist Cleaning my AK is EXTREMELY therapeutic! This is my rifle, there are many like it, but this one is mine....(lol)
Yes
YESSSSSSS!!!! 😂
@@nsz85 why do you need to clean the extractor? ... i can't really remove it, it seems stuck
A nicely done and informative video. Good close up camera work with no blurring. Thanks for posting.
I know this video is now old, but great job! Excellent camera angles, lighting, sound, and tutorial.
Had problems with my Waffen Works milled AK74 purchased from AGS Armament. After first 5 rounds, the spent casing came only partially out of the chamber and then bolt & carrier continued to cycle and feed next round up against partially extracted round (jam). Had to use cleaning rod to get spent round out of chamber. This happened on each consecutive shot thereafter. Manual cycling was smoothe and with no problems. Completely disassembled , cleaned, and wire brushed extractor with bronze brush the bolt components. Reassembled bolt, finished cleaning rest of firearm and tested. Shot 3 10 round mags wiyh wolf and red army std ammo out of k var 10 R&D and tapco 10 round mags without any problems. Zeroed the weapon and then fined tuned the sights at 100 meters. Milled receiver is awesome with final 3 shot group 1.5 in at 100 meters right on bullseye using iron sights. No moe extraction problems. Very happy after I thought I had a major problem!
Well there goes 11:45 of time that was NOT wasted. I came on looking for this exact information and there it was. And it is clear and concise. Thanks for making this video.
You my friend, are a great teacher. Thanks for putting so much thought into this. You nailed it. Jeff IFA
I followed you and cleaned my bolt for the first time in my life wow man it was really really dirty and very hard to move but after cleaning now its perfect and I learned from you to not oil the bolt inside! I was putting too much oil! Thank you alot for your video
Thank for you AK instructional videos. Because of them, I know my SGL31 thoroughly and can effectively clean all components. 100% agree with your methodology of knowing ones weapons inside and out.
This was extremely helpful. Very well done, excellent up close camera work.
great informative vid sir, i do have one good recommendation when cleaning use fast drying brake cleaner instead of ballistol on the exterior and interior of the bolt, this will in my opinion get rid of 99.99% of all trace residue power/dirt and use an air gun to thoroughly remove any left over debris as well. also hit the firing pins angled tip part of the head where it locks up in the bolt face with a soft wire brush, this will keep firing pin as free floating as possible in the channel.
Done! Bought a used Riley Defense AKM from a buddy. Found the firing pin wasn't dropping constantly. It was filthy. Took a few mins to align the retainer pin but I got it. Great vid... Thanks!
Thanks for the detailed instruction. I just purchased a MAK-90 and will follow your steps after getting some supplies.
I have had my WASR-10 for over 13+ years. First time I removed the firing pin to clean it and the channel. It was not too dirty but it is SPOTLESS now...!! Thanks for the video..!!
Excellent video with clear closeups. Thank you!
Great video, lighting and details are on point. I'm a new AK guy and on my first breakdown I sprayed it with oil solvent. So I definitely need to take it apart and clean.
I just purchased a Zastava M70 AK, and this video is excellent. It explains very well. Thank you very much.
Great vid and great quality! KZhead needs more of this stuff. i just ordeded an Arsenal Sar m14f so im busy soaking up all the knowledge i can get.
Great video. Great camera work. Thank you.
+TheSalsy1 Thanks!
THANKS LOADS for a GREAT video! My firing pin dropped out after a decade or more and thousands of rounds with cleaning after every shooting session at the range - why is beyond me. No cotter pin ever dropped out of my AR bolt. But thank God the pin was on my table and, with the help of this video and its closeup photography -the best thing about it- I was able to get it back in as well as clean the extractor, too. Thanks again - closeup videos are the only ones that matter!
Ur bolt is probably defective a lemon
your videos are allways the most informative and easiest to follow. the other don't come close. thank you
Awesome vid. I have been neglecting my ak bolt, now I can take care of it.
This is the BEST video on this subject, thank you so much for your work. Great quality and great demonstration! Cheers!
One of the best videos. Clear Concise and you ensure we, those that are watching to learn, understand and can see what you are doing. Also, thank you for not talking and talking with not teaching.
+Phil Yarnell You are welcome. Thank you for watching!
Thanks for the video. I found it really helpful in the first time break down and cleaning of the bolt in my new AK.
Good video! I have PSL i have wanted to take the bolt apart in it to clean and have been worried how much tension the spring is under and the correct way of tear down and assembly so its good to finally know how to do it, thanks!
Great video, very detailed which is what a video should be. You gave little tips that make a huge difference. Thanks.
Great instructional video. I noticed that your bolt was cut smooth, compared to my century arms bolt. It looked like a grade school kid was learning how to operate the lathe. Thank you again for such detailed information.
+Tim Martinez You are welcome
Awesome! I am very glad to see that it was helpful. That is what I strive for in my videos, is to cover things in great detail so it can be as helpful as possible. Thank you very much for watching
thanks for this vid!! iwas having issues with my AK yesterday, this video helps a lot.
This was a great video! I was having extractor problems now i have something to try to correct it
Thanks for a great instructive video. Just completed my AK build. I found your video very helpful. You really can find ANYTHING on KZhead. What a great country. Too bad I live in a sucky state for firearms (CT).
Your AK videos have been very helpful. Thank you!
Dude thank you I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how to put this bolt and firing pin back together you saved me such a head ache thank you!
I fucked up somehow and the bolt came out after I put it back together and now I can’t get the bolt out the disassemble it again
@@user-tr5vz8gn2u how do you even do that?
Well I certainly appreciate the sub and the support! Thank you! It was a pleasure to shoot with Destinee and I am glad you enjoyed the video her and I did together. What part of MN are you in?
Awesome video. Nice camera work with the close ups.
Thank you for the demo and tutorial. This will really help. Anthony.
I really appreciate the kind words! Thank you for watching and I am glad that I could help :)
I removed the firing pin detent on a Draco-C, and rather than it pushing out under pressure, i had to tap it out and now one end is bent. It tapped back in, although harder than before, but assuming I should order another one? Was first time of it being disassembled and a 1968 build. Now, the extractor removal went great, put in a polish spring to replace and it's launching the casings now on a dry cycle! (That's why I broke it down, to upgrade the extractor)
Terrific job at explaining what to do and what look out for.
Excellent video! Very detailed instructions. I’m new to AK platform and after cleaning my new M70 after first range trip, noticed the firing pin was sticking a lil. I’ll try cleaning to see if that resolves the issue.
Awesome! I am glad you found this video helpful! Thank you for watching!
Clear and concise and all the info I was looking for. Great video, thanks.
Hey bro your video on the AK Bolt Cleaning and Disassembly was perfect. I for the first time cleaned my AK after about 3500 rnds. Wow was it nasty. Any way my appreciation comes from your time and quality of video with excellent commentary. I searched many videos for this and some had what I was looking for and some ran a little funny....just might be me......The video was perfect thanks again and happy New Year my friend. Vince
Thank you for this video. Right to the point. Fixed my AK that had a piece of metal jammed in the firing pin from the factory.
Thank you, I appreciate that. I do my best to make a quality video that can help others.
Very helpful. I didn't know you could take that apart for extra cleaning. Thank you.
Was a great video. Up close and very very clear. What other videos of firearms do u show. Thanks Danny
My extractor broke on the 31st round I put through my RAK.. This video helped me. I know the AR platform since I was in the military and shot M4s but the AK, I'm still learning.
Grate video broke my firing pit today and have to replace. This make it so easy for me next time I definitely pull it apart and clean it
Very well presented and articulated!!! Happy Holidays!!!
Thank you --- your video popped up and it was exactly my guns issue. Stripped down the carrier, cleaned as described, finished with a great shooting gun/
You are very welcome! Merry Christmas!
Very good, learned a lot. Thanks for making a lucid video. I find I'm mindful when cleaning guns.
Very helpful especially in the orientation of the larger pin and the firing pin.
Awesome, I got everything back together. Thanks for you help, I appreciate it!
Very helpful! My firing pin and its retention pin fell out while I was cleaning. Good to know the retention pin only needs to be flush with the top part of the bolt there. Thank you!!!!
Very well made and informative video. Thanks.
Excellent video, love the close ups. I helped a freind of mine with his AK bolt and we figured it out but it would have been so much easier and simpler had I known about your video. lol Well we all learn. Keep the videos.
SUBBED u got the best way of explaining and articulating things aswell as good camera angling and visibility so i can actually see wtf ur even showing us lol
I like your videos. They are very detailed and you give a great POV. Thank you very much.
Thanks for the video man! Had a firing pin that was slightly bent and was getting stuck. This video helped me put that badboy back in shape.
+Andy Nonyabusiness Happy to help!
Extremely informative. About to disassemble the bolt on a new AK I have not shot yet (my first AK) so that I can document the initial condition of the surfaces as well as headspace the bolt with Go and No-Go gauges. as a benchmark for my progressive use of the gun.
Thank you!
You are welcome!
Excellent video - thanks for the very precise instructions. This one is a keeper!
Followed your advice gave it one last try and got the pin out , thank you teacher
I needed this video about 3 years ago.
😂😂😂😂 I know what u mean!
Awesome video, very helpful and the clarity is great! Thank you.
+james 727 I am happy to have helped!
Yeah it never hurts to clean it! I am glad I could help
Hey nsz85, awesome video! I'm new to the AK/AK variant world (though not new to firearms) but this disassembly video makes the whole process so much easier. Thanks!
travisp11 Sure thing! I am happy to have helped :)
Great video! Step by step lots of help, thanks!
Very nice. Straight to the point with only the necessary hyperbole. Nothing worse than having a punch block full of pins and a wayward spring traveling under my bench and having ng to listen to how weapons developed over time...forty minutes later, still no info...big thanks dude. PS I hit the subscribe button
Epic video, man. Very crisp. Thank you for sharing!
Awesome instructionional vid !! My pin was basically stuck and had major issues with ejections.. now it's just sweet!!! actually all your viedos are great!! keep em going...
Nicely done sir. Now I feel confident to DCA my bolt.
