A very dark thought just came to me as I saw how Greta reacted when Cole was near Brahms the doll. It wasn't just her fear of what would happen if the doll was damaged, but perhaps the residue of trauma sustained during her last relationship. We know Cole isn't the nicest person around- and he definitely raised a hand more than once during their time together, but I suspected that the miscarriage Greta had was due to one of his rages. The way she looks after Brahms over time reminded me of how some women who have suffered the loss of a child (or more than one) roleplay with dolls as a means of therapy, to cope with grief. So when Cole destroyed the doll in front of Greta, it was like a horrific repeat of what possibly made Greta finally leave the abusive relationship.

Julieann Truong WHY DO PEOPLE THINK GRAHMS LIKES TO KILL PEOPLE???? Okay. Let me say this. Brahms accept her help so all he do to scare cole with a scary writing “Get Out.” Then cole get psycho. Then brahms think cole was hurting her and cole wouldn’t listen to her i know cole likes her, don’t want her to run or let go from him. Then cole get mad and (example he just killed a kid. Yes a doll. But a alive doll yes.) Then probably brahms get revenge for cole to kill brahms. So brahms killed him then the girl and mah get freaked and tried to run away, but it doesn’t mean brahms is a killer because he killed cole. Then he said to greta “IF YOU LEAVE ILL KILL HIM” but then she ran away and wouldn’t listen but he didn’t killed him. AND FUCK YOU GRETA FOR KILLING HIM.

@Lafamiliaespinoza Lasepinozas Okay. SPOILER ALERT (obviously) The abusive ex boyfriend somehow finds the babysitter's location and flies over there, bringing extra two plan tickets so him and the girl (the babysitter) can go back home. The girl refuses to be in a relationship with him again, essentially gets angry and BREAKS the doll which shatters it into pieces. Suddenly, a grown man with a mask breaks through one of the mirrors and is revealed to be Brahms who was never dead, but for some reason hid his true self and lived in the walls of the house, using the doll to pose his life. The ex boyfriend is left dead and at the very, very end the babysitter escapes with the plan ticket (and with the nice delivery man).

I mean, the sex doll with her dress on in his room, how he rejected other nannies cause they were too old looking and not pretty enough, plus the "kiss goodnight" which was a full on make out session that he seemed wayy too passionate about!.. But then again he was living in the walls for 20 years without physical contact..

That's the whole point. It's more realistic and messed up than some ghost or phantom bullsh*t. Also, Brahms is like a fictional yet real life representation of all the disgusting, weird, loser f*ckbois that get no girls and obsess over pretty ones every day or some hot girl from class or work and even have a sex doll designed after her to fap to every night. Yikes. And might stalk her every now and then and relive those fantasies in his head about her, wet ones perhaps lol.

A guy can be hot without his looks ya know.
@gnarlybastard33537 жыл бұрын
Duh_Tacos Of course there are other things that make people hot along with looks, but you can't actually deny that the looks are the first thing people find hot in a person. Looks are after all the first thing you see in a person and you can't tell by the first glance if the person you are looking at is also clever, funny, a good listener, has a sense of humor etc. To get back to Brahms, and if we ignore his looks for now, what really makes him hot for some people? He is downright scary, murderous, mentally disable SPOILER(S) AHEAD! (he's been living inside the walls for the most of his life for reasons none of us knows.), and he seems to be extremely possessive of Greta... to a scary degree to tell the truth. If those are traits people find "hot af" then sure, why not? I raise my hands up and sincerely hope for you to see the next morning with a person like that. :D
@iRinnda7 жыл бұрын
+iRinnda Well it's not his fault he's like that. But anyways I just got attracted to him. Before I even knew who the actor that was playing as him I thought that he was hot. I mean I know why I am attracted to him but I can't explain it. I know he's all possessive and scary and etc but how do you expect to him act. His childhood was horrible and his parents hid him away. He was raised like that. Maybe he can possibly change if someone took the time out to do it. I mean if I was Greta, I would have wanted to run away and try to kill him too but he doesn't know right from wrong that's why he's acting like that. People can change their dirty and wicked ways ya know.
@gnarlybastard33537 жыл бұрын
Duh_Tacos I can somewhat see what you mean there. If I was in Greta's situation, of course the first thing I would feel was being terrified and scared and just run as far away as possible. However, if he revealed himself in a different time, the situation might not have escalated as badly as it did in the movie. Of course he'd still be creepy af, but one might still be more successful to try to speak and connect with him. But then again, let's be realistic here: Life is not "Beauty and the Beast". Chances are high I would get myself killed by this person if I did one single wrong move at any time or situation given. :D You told that he had a terrible childhood and that he was raised in a certain way. I can only partly agree with that. If I remember correctly, he was born in a wealthy family and his parents loved him very much (so much that they even bought a life-size glass doll of him when the real Brahms went missing never to be found). There was something happening to him at some point in his childhood though... It was something about a young girl around his age in his childhood, but I really can't recall what it was. So I think he was raised ok, and his childhood was mostly good, but there was one thing that triggered him to change the way he eventually did. Maybe I should watch the movie again, for I seriously don't remember much of it. When I did watch it, I really tried to concentrate on the story, but I feel that the creators were more busy with the overall atmosphere and the creepy parts of the movie than actually inventing the plot to be coherent all the way through, which gave the movie quite "Da fuck did I just watch?" -feeling. :D

Caitlin C.S Facts
You are totally right. The film was good until the part we just realized that Bram or whatever the name, was alive and he moved the toy. Was just stupid, kill all the tension
Javier Peña I honestly think that made it *better.* Fear of dolls, been done before many times. Fear of an unknown presence living inside of your house without you knowing it, yes, been done before, but not much.
Javier Peña Actually, the twist made it better and less cliche
PheeVee //P.V it made it lose a the fear i had
Ah shit this explains a lot
holy cow, yes this truuly makes sense. this must be also one of the finest points why greta is attached to brahms right? this whole thing. you're right

I know most people didn't like the twist ending cuz everyone thought it was gonna some supernatural thing but I honestly loved the twist. When he came out and you saw the long limbs instead of some small kid was scary. And then when you see the child mask it becomes unnerving to me more than a ghost kid would be because it's a more real level of fucked up.
Like Sherlock Holmez movie, finding out that the bad guy was not a wizard or whatever. Just a creative guy using tricks and illusions. Or when "magic" or bizarre occurrences are just explained away by science.
fun fact! originally, Brahms wasn’t supposed to have a mask, but people were more attracted to him than scared of him without the mask. i don’t really think the mask helped much

Agree. I loved this movie because the story was good and because it was not a typical paranormal movie with a demon possessed doll :p
It’s just a little more realistic and that makes it a lot better then ghost possessive movies
Really life can be far more horrifying then supernatural.
The fact that its grounded more in reality makes it far more terrifying than any cliche ghost/demon movie.
The Arbiter jfc you think this is a good movie?
I get the feeling Malcolm knew Brahms was alive and in the walls
same, maybe malcom knew but never thought he would actually show himself
He might have a hunch or suspicion but had no proof and wasn't very sure or certain and didn't want to spook Greta too or alert the authorities over nothing. But when Brahms finally show up, you can tell he's still rudely surprised or shocked by it even if he was expecting it. I have had that before. Anticipating something but not very sure about it until the confirmation comes and I am still surprised. Lol.
Fun fact: his mask was a last minute CGI addition.

I don't understand how everyone thinks Brahms is hot. I can't even explain the fear and disgust I felt when a grown ass man came out of the wall saying "greta" like a little boy. That shit was unnerving.
that made ny skin crawl as well, it freaked me out so bad-
we're all just mentally ill, thats the reason why we find him hot
Because you’re normal asf. We are weirdos

He just got freaky hot.
Their like all shocked of how hot he is
Why is it in EVERY horror movie, when somebody with a shred of common sense says, "I think we need to leave" they all just continue to STAND THERE? Most people with half a brain would have left a smoke silhouette where they had been standing a split second door while the door was left dangling off its hinges.
saffie girl because easy to make horror movies needs idiots for the plot
Hachinaka nah this the first horror movie where the dumbness made sense...she lost a child she wanted that sprit to be real so bad... And she was also conviced he wouldnt hurt her so why run
Kidd Honest he cut her hair?!? He knows how to use a knife,so hell no.
I think that Brahms really did love Greta and didn't want her to leave, that's why he stalled when he had the perfect chance to actually kill her.
@@user-rc8lm4hr2d what do you mean he isnt a killer? What about that girl he killed that caused them to have to fake his death in the first place?
Jasmine Ertha there’s no proof
@@user-rc8lm4hr2d no but most people dont fake their kid's death if they are innocent. They try to prove innocence.
@@jasmineertha8351I always thought that the girl didn't die by braum's hand but the parents thought he killed her anyway it just makes too much sense plus they're an old couple that got their child late into their lives there's plenty of fanfiction stating like he hit her after some kid argument and then ran away and she died by someone else after he left
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought he was hot lmao I thought I had a problem
Brahms isn't as innocent as everyone portrays him, He uses the childish voice to lure Greta, when that doesn't work he gets angry and becomes more violent.. You can't blame him for the way he is, he never grew up with a lot of display of affection so the fact that he loved Greta is unsurprising but when she stabbed him I was like; "IT IS ON SIGHT"
Very underrated movie with an unexpected twist. Probably one of the most fascinating horror movies out there. Amazing.
Jo I'm really glad someone thinks all nice about this movie. I really liked it too (:

Yeah, it was really interesting. I thought it would be predictable but it really wasn't.

I’m happy their making a sequel, I just hope they use James Russell as the real Brahms again, I loved his performance
They basically retconned the entire plot of this in the sequel
I bet those who made the sequel did not even watch the first. They literally pretended that the twist didn't happen, and I gotta say, adult Brahms twist was decent.

I'm pretty late to the party and just finished watching the movie. It's a little disturbing how obsessed human Brahms was with Greta.
Like some phantom of the opera shit
melany urrea valdez 😂😂😂😂
That all makes me like him more
That's the whole point.

Even if the doll wasn't possessed she was still getting paid to watch it.
Layla Hellsing The parents are dead. Who's gonna pay her?
Really ?they are died ? I didn't notice . Why are they die ?
vanou sisi So that Brahmas could keep Greta forever
vanou sisi they basiclly couldnt keep up the charade anymore and drowned themselves but they still loved their boy so they set up the whole namy thing so he could have a wide when th e died
vanou sisi They committed suicide. Drowned themselves.
So let me get this straight. When that fire burnt down the house, he pretended to be dead so the cops wouldnt arrest him for his crime then he moved the doll around the house whenever no one is looking but in reality, he is living within the walls, watching everything happen and the desire to have Greta to himself is growing?
AND THAT’S PRETTY MUCH IT
I see what you did there. I actually came here from their video actually 😁.
i understood the entire movie but when greta read the letter it said she is yours to love and care for and further on when greta comes back and puts him to bed he ask for a kiss till she finally kissed him and when she did he tried to give them lipz sooooooo im guessimg he fell in love with her (also bc he has been watching her)

death tool I didn't say he is scary either. People who think ghosts are scary are pussies
When you're a kid, naive, impressionable, and still a bit dumb. Ghosts are scary. When you're an adult, experienced, responsible, and has grown wiser. Humans are scary. It's just how things go. "So, you wanna go with the .22 caliber. Perfect gun to shoot in the house, you can't really kill anybody from a distance, you know, so when they take a hostage you can start shooting at 'em." Brahms is really hot, shit. I kind of wonder why the filmmakers went in this direction for his appearance? He's pretty fit for someone who spent 20 years in his parents' basement lol. oh he does.
So the boy is still alive and wearing a mask. Right
Yes his parents covered up the murders and started the fire to make it seem he died but he was hiding in the walls , that's why mom wanted Greta to save food for brahmas to sneak inside to get food , the mom also wanted her to set mouse traps so it wouldn't get inside the walls , and told her to read really loud and clear , so brahmas could hear through the walls

Everyone else in the comments are like "Dayum, Brahms is hot af!" and I'm just sitting here like: "He has a friggin' porcelain doll mask on his face... How can you tell what he looks like?! Dude might as well have a face of Donald Trump!"
I looked up the actor he got af tbh
A guy can be hot without his looks ya know.
The name brahms is from the origin of the pianist called brahms lullaby idk but it connects from the scene when brahms like piano songs
Imagine Brahms stubbing his toe, and through the walls, you just hear “FUCK”
We need more thinkers like you! 😂 Love it!
