❣Jimin “Set Me Free Pt.2’, it’s everything & more then I could hope for, Jimin’s amazing artistry, his so beyond spectacular,, so mesmerizing, phenomenal performance! The song, Jimin’s vocals, his dancing, the amazing choreography, also the amazing backup dancers, the lyrics he wrote, the music he composed as well as being involved in the production! Jimin was hands on, involved with every facet! No wonder the in-house legendary producer for BigHit Pdogg, who worked with Jimin throughout the whole album, stated that “in 2023 K-pop will be ended by Park Jimin”! Seeing this made me that much more excited, for the full album, Jimin’s “FACE” released on March 24, of last year, along with his main song ‘Like Crazy’ MV. Jimin’s other songs “Face-Off”, “Alone”, as well as hidden track “Letter” are all equally amazing! Though Jimin’s song ‘Set Me Free Pt.2’, blew me away , meeting all my expectations & then some, I was also not totally surprised, because indeed Jimin is now ‘set free’ from the confines of being part of a group, to now be able to open up full throttle and ‘finally’ be able to release all that he held back for so many yrs! Jimin has been involved in every facet of creating this album! Hands on all the way, perfectionist that he is, including writing lyrics, composing, as well as being heavily involved in production! Jimin’s true, real, inner self will be finally seen in all its raw, authentic, amazing, heartfelt, passionate, emotional, sincere glory! This is aside from Jimin’s full range, hardly ever being shown, aside from high notes, but being finally able to show his full registry, mid range as well as lower registry as well! I’ve always been so frustrated not being able to see as well as hear Jimin’s full capacity of talent. So often not being fully taken advantage of, but that comes with being part of a group, that has every single member having so much talent that it’s been so limiting for Jimin, especially him being so selfless, making a point of having others shine before himself. Now the spotlight will be just on him! Though we’ve seen Jimin’s amazingly spectacular, so mesmerizingly outstanding solo performances before. But now, as Jimin himself, mentioned, he’ll indeed be showing the depth of his raw inner self! Jimin has also said that with all the members now exploring & expressing their own individual talent , it will just make BTS that much stronger when they come back together as a group! In an interview Jimin explained: "I tried to express the grand scale of the song and [the ideas of] determination, passion, and overcoming. “Set me free” means setting myself free, so I thought it was important that I be the one to set myself free - not someone else. In the end, I’m the one who has to set myself free. I would say the song has the energy of a light in the darkness. I wanted to express that kind of picture everyone has in their head - a ray of light coming into the darkness is the only thing you can see. If I had to say specific colors, I’d say black and white”.

That is a German poem from 1899 by Rilke that is painted on him and Fibonacis Spiral...they connect to each other in meaning and JiMins life and mental thought process. 💜

As an army with a JM bias, I relate to and enjoy Mark's reactions so much. Jimin's solo stuff is top-notch, so Jimin in its versatility and has yet to disappoint. I have such mad respect and appreciation for his talent as an artist and who he is as a person. 100% agree with Mark on Jimin's powerful gaze. It's like next level eye contact for sure.

I love BTS, but Jimin is really indescribable. From his debut songs, "lie", "serendipity", "Filter", "Promise", to his face album, he is amazing. He always tries various genres. & dance, the lyrics of every song also sing into my heart. Jimin really puts 100% of his heart into making his songs, especially for ARMY, and even produced 2 songs "Letter" for ARMY, "Closer than this", Jimin is so heartwarming, how could I not love him💛💜

♦️Jimin said in an interview that he wanted the concept of the song “Filter”, to be to present himself to the world in many different ways! Jimin also said that it's about perspective & prejudices as well!! Aside from saying in the song that I can be anything you (army) want me to be for you, I believe that Jimin is also trying to tell so many army that keep saying things like he's insecure, weak, or helpless, and needs protecting, or just cute or sexy, or just any one thing, whatever army indeed wants to think he is, isn't the real him! That he wears whatever 'filter' that army wants him to be, but indeed in reality is so not him!! That's why army are continually surprised when they see a glimmer of the real Jimin, the way more self assured, demonstrative, take charge, confident, charismatic, alluring, at times sexy, person that kills on stage! So this (pure genius) song, that the CEO 'Hit-Man Bang' (called that since way back when, as a producer, whatever he was involved in became a hit) Mr. Bang Si Hyuk, himself, was actually involved in writing the ever so genius lyrics, that Jimin had a hand in as well. The song's lyrics have more then one meaning!! So Jimin has pretty much been doing this since the beginning, playing the role of whatever army seems to prefer for him, but in actuality, hardly anyone knows the real Jimin! So much more then what many army believe him to be. Plus since Jimin never talks much about all his amazing past achievements, abilities, and accomplishments, even before ever joining BTS, many army are still unaware of so much.
It's really harsh for ARMYs to label Jimin as weak, insecure, or helpless! Nobody would appreciate being referred to in such terms. I can't imagine how he might feel, knowing that ARMYs perceive him this way, especially when he gives so much love to them! 😔 While Jimin may not be very vocal about his behind-the-scenes hard work and achievements, it's a testament to his selfless nature. He consistently prioritizes his family, fellow members, and ARMY. Jimin truly exemplifies what it means to be a great human being and a genuine role model, teaching us all how to love ourselves and others. 💛💛

In a way, the purple suit D2 Filter is even more insane. We knew what was coming, but Jimin still managed to give a completely different feel to the performance from D1, just by changing up the hair and makeup. D1 was cool, suave, flirty. D2 was hot, sexy, seductive, basically going for the all kill. SMFPT2 practice and the live performances Jimin did of the song are perhaps, increadibly enough, even better than the MV. Only Jimin.

Set me free is such a good song. Sincerely I never expected him to drop this kind of song. Was expecting something like lie, serendipity.... And i am so happy i was wrong. The surprise was so great. Now I am expecting more of this kind of surprise in his next album. So excited( hope it will come out this year 😭)

His quick change was accomplished by misdirection & distraction. The pants & top are a bodysuit which he had on underneath the first outfit. The top was rolled down into the pants so you couldn't see it through the first shirt. The shirt also (probably) w/o sleeves & velcro or other quick fasteners at the shoulders. The majority of the other dancers throw bandanas they had to make it seem like Jinins clothes were being thrown off while 2 or 3 are helping him get the 1st outfit off; regular shirt & tear away pants. They then help him fasten the shoylders of the body suit & get him into the jacket and hide the removed outfit in their outfits before the reveal. It's an amazingly timed trick that must have been practiced intensely for it to be as well oiled as it is.
Not sure if you watched the making of the map of the soul one concert but Jimin was initially supposed to do what you said but during rehearsal he was having trouble getting the clothes off in time and he also said the whole outfit was very heavy to dance in. So they decided to pre-record the performance instead. So in the end they did edit the reveal of the red outfit with 2 different takes of the performance, but it did fool a lot of people that he actually did a quick change.
