  • Hello Brent, I thought it was a the crank or cam shafts sensors were not communicating. My friend you were right again, GM is famous for using the same two and three wire connectors and other styles. That is why the wire colors on a stock GM is important. As normal Sir you are a wealth of knowledge. I learn or get refreshed on every video, thank you for education.

  • You mentioning the hassle of waiting on parts for this project lets me know I'm not alone!! Lol. I'm working on swapping a SBC into a 51 Willys Jeep on my channel, that I started about 3 months ago, and should have been about 3 weeks to do. However it has been a never ending hassle with getting the very simple and common Chevy parts and lots of other hold ups. I went through a period of trying to get a 10.5" flywheel for it, and kept getting 11" ones sent to me instead! three times in a row! And the guy wanted to keep using the original T-90 trans so we got an adapter kit for it with a longer input shaft, and once I got into the trans I found the milky soup of water with burned out bushings and damaged gears! yep, now a trans rebuild gets added to the job, and another wait on more parts! lol. I got the motor up and running last Sunday finally, only to have the starter lockup and burn up, followed by it running out of gas! So I still have it for another week at least! I made the guy spring for a new hi-torque mini from Summit rather than screwing around finding another stock starter, but......yep waiting again! Lol!

  • Outstanding result, reminds of the time i was convinced to update my 98 Corvette with a 2000 PCM because it was faster and had more memory. As you know there two huge sockets to the PCM, hundreds of pins in sockets. Red and blue schematics the 98 pin out verses the 2000 Pin out and i have made a pin to pin chart. Red 42 goes to blue 89, It took me hours to walk thru the pins one at a time and make the switches. Not all the pins needed to be changed. Out of the 300 pins i only had to change every one but TWO! Then I had to do a god Awful security cycle to try to start the engine. I found two methods one had you go through a routine three times the other only required two times. I figured it was the three times one that was correct. I go thru it, click this three times then wait 90 seconds and click that. Oh My God. I get ready cranks, but no start. So i tried the two cycle method. It fired right up and idled perfectly. I ran out of the garage after hours of pin swapping i was so wild with glee I was screaming in the street, "ITS ALIVE" !!! A neighbors pooks his head out "Is everything ok Dennis?" "Oh Yes my engine started doesn't it sound great" Yes OK Good Night. So when You had trouble and was working thru it I was there with you. Then when it started and your laughing and grinning so was I. Remembering how wa=onderful it is when you work so hard then trouble then it starts. Yee Haa! Such a happy feeling. Great Project, Great Result. Way to Go Brent.

It’s amazing how far it’s come and it doesn’t seem like it’s been going that badly, nothing major holding you back. And if something does come up you just stop and think about it until you figure it out, you’re doing a great job and I enjoy watching your work and to think of all the other things you have going on. • By the look of the amount of fuel those injectors are putting out, it should idle between 4,500 and 6,000 RPM’s. The good news is that it should get about two miles to the gallon! Congratulations, you’ve given birth to a fuel hog! Lol. Pretty cool video, Thanks for sharing! I really like this ‘54, such a cool ride. Edit: Yea,Yea, Yea, I know I should watch the video until the end before I comment, but it was just joking around anyway.

  • that chevy as a decent sized engine compartment, and your work in pretty clean. It looks like a really good turbo install. I'd be happy to have that under the hood on a car I owned. Great work and content Brent. Matt Happle has a 80lb injector he can can get you a discout, and they are not china junk. This might be a option if you want to go threw his websight. Also a 2500 or 3500 series pick or vans uses 80lb injectors for a flex fuel app they may sock a little more but it might be with it to not have to waste a bunch of time looking for a injector set. Just go to the local auto parts store.
