  • In 2004, Adam Dunn hit a homerun out of Great American Ballpark, which bounced off Mehring Way and onto a piece of driftwood in the Ohio River, which is technically Kentucky. So, Adam Dunn's homer technically traveled from Ohio to Kentucky. ;-)

  • Was at the game in Yankees/Astros game in Houston last July 21st when Judge hit one that went over the railroad tracks and would have left the park had the roof/window been open. The crowd made a sound I’ve never been present for before but will never forget. It was like an intake of breath and everyone said ‘Ohhhhhhhhhh!’ There were no longer Yankees and Astros fans, just thousands of humans united in appreciation of watching a human being do something extraordinary.

Also, the like 100+ "Splash hits" (*both giants and opponents) at the Giants Pac Bell / AT&T Park. I get how those are taken with a grain of salt as "out of the stadium" in a video like this though, because it's a lot easier to do it there as compared to most other stadiums.

  • My personal favorite home run to leave the ballpark entirely is Tony Perez's blast in Game 7 of the 1975 World Series in Boston. It was pivotal in bringing the Reds back from a 3-0 deficit in a game they won, 4-3. Perez's homer landed on Landsdown Street. It was hit so high that it likely would have hit the top deck at Riverfront Stadium. It was just plain powerful.

Upon his last game at Jarry Park he was presented with a life preserver in memory of all the swimmers he chased out of the pool. The man was so well loved by the Expos and fans that they installed a Pirates gold seat with the number 8 on it in the upper deck of Olympic stadium to mark the spot where hit a 535 foot dinger. Willie is sadly gone and the Expos left town a long time ago but that seat is still there.

  • I thought I'd see some of Dave Kingman's monster shots he used to hit out of Wrigley Field. Some of them landed on the front porches of homes well beyond the corners on Waveland and/or Sheffield Avenues! Also, Willie Stargell was rumored to have hit the scoreboard at Wrigley -- which requires a minimum 540 foot shot, they say -- but it aint true. Willie was powerful, but NO ONE will ever hit the scoreboard at Wrigley no matter how hard the wind is blowing out. It's 400 feet just to the wall in dead center! A buddy of mine, Big Dan, hit a home run at Wrigley once that was awesome -- a liner over the wall to left center. No wind that day. "Big deal," you say. It was softball game. He hit a well-worn 16 inch Clincher into the bleachers. Yeah ...they didn't call him Big Dan for nothin'.

  • I cant remember the exact year, but it was the year Cecil Fielder hit 51, maybe 1990. I went to an A's/Tigers game and seen Cecil hit one that bounced off the roof of Tiger Stadium and went on out in left field. That same game, Cecil hit another one, McGuire hit one, and Canseco hit one. At the time, the A's were my favorite team so it was an awesome game. The Tigers ended up winning.

    • That was from the 23-22 game. And all three of the HRs Kingman hit in that game were monstrous shots. The first of those three was long enough that one of the people on the roof tops acted as if he was going to catch it, and the second was about 500 feet as well, as it went across Waveland Avenue, but the third one is the one most remember, because it reached the fourth house across Waveland Ave. If I were to add up the footage from Kingman's 3 HR that day, it would likely exceed 1500.

Other moonshots should include: - Reggie Jackson’s 1971 All Star Game blast off Doc Ellis which hit the lights @ Tiger Stadium, - Dingers going into “McCovey Cove” at Oracle Park in San Francisco, - Dave “King Kong” Kingman’s monster blast to the 3rd house on Waveland Ave on 5/17/79 out of Wrigley Field during the famed 23-22 game. - honorable mention (but saw no video of it), Mike Schmidt’s “single” off the rooftop speaker at the Astrodome 6/10/74 which, if not impeded by the speaker, may have travelled 500 feet.

The one Kyle Schwarber hit in the NL Wild Card game cleared the walkway and landed directly in the river in Pittsburgh. I was sitting in the upper deck between home and third and had a perfect view of the ball going over the roof. It went right down the line and it was a majestic shot.
