This could have been so cool. The cutscenes are awesome. The game play is awesome. I just don’t get what they are thinking. 1. The entire original game is about the build up to the final showdown vs Sephiroth. They now elected to have them fight sephiroth at the end of every game and beat him now. So by the time the third game comes out it’s gonna be quite watered down. There’s gonna be no climax of the story bc they’ve already beaten him many times. And 2. Why the hell do they need these altered timelines? It completely ruined the modernized aerith scene where sephiroth kills her. Completely ruined it. Nobody had any idea what was going on there. If they really wanted zack in the game that badly they could’ve just used him in some flashbacks and made a modernized separate game with him. It’s quite silly

@@pauldaly9326 so much if it was nailed. The parts follow the original story closely are excellent. Barrett’s backstory, cosmo canyon, etc etc. bravo for that. The gameplay is outstanding. But they 1000% dropped the ball on this stupid multiverse style sephiroth storyline. It’s terrible.

Because she's dead only cloud sees her
She has died. Basically at 28:24:04 she dies. We see her spirit or something after that. Only cloud sees her. Because she died, that's why after 28:24:04 everybody is upset. Tbh it's not actually very clear that she's died and we're seeing a ghost, but because lots of people played the original ff7 we know this is where she dies.
Obviously, anyone watching this can find out what happens once they get to the end. However, insofar as Aerith being dead, considering Zack is alive in another timeline/dimension, Marlene (who never saw Sephiroth) described who Sephiroth was and that Cloud needed to wake up to save Aerith, we have dueling fates, Sephiroth seems to be trying to control the outcome by creating different dimensions/timelines, and Zack and Cloud from different timelines/dimenisons merged into one to attempt to defeat Sephiroth, I'm now more convinced than ever that Square Enix has something up their sleeves with regards to some sort of fantastic climax. Bottom line, there's too many questions to assume that we're going to get the same outcome of Aerith dying again.
Ahh thank you comment section. I didn't want to watch a playthrough only to find out the uploader provided us with a crappy playthrough. Seriously, if the playthrough is crap, leave comments for the rest of us as a warning. the best youtube playthrough content comes from the smaller channels. Avoid the first 10 or 20 of these useless bozos and their crap content. names such as shirrako, mkiceandfire etc. They're crap and lazy. Give smaller channels the views.
Your camera is so jerky. The gameplay stuff was impossible to watch
of course they'd screw up the ending. What was that? First he doesn't kill her and then she's dead. Way to make one of the most important moments awkward and confusing. Completely killed any emotion in that scene. Then the beat up Sephiroth a second time. Why? Way to make the main antagonist a total pussy. They've beaten him twice, he's a pushover, no threat at all. Why is Aerith still showing up as a spirit, it feels like she isn't really gone, and again kills the emotion. The original was a beautiful tragedy and this is just a punch goofy nonsense that treats the audience with kid gloves. This is insulting.
100% agreeing to this as a hardcore 7 fan. They could get so much out of that scene, but harvested practically nothing…

@@pauldaly9326 whats a real shame is that there are some genuinely good moments. they captured the personalities of the cast in a lot of places. just when taken as a complete package, it really undermines the quality of the story. they had the skill to write something good, but gave us this instead.
@@yurisonovab3892 agreed, lots of quality, isolated moments. It's such a shame they didn't respect their own past work enough to simply celebrate/improve upon its OG formula. When they do, it really works! Other than this, I find the whole FF7 remake effort incredibly arrogant and self-indulgent.
"FULL GAME" skips dialogues and gameplay
As someone that played every version of the original game, I really wish they made a truly turn based mode. The story is great but the combat looks like a jumbled mess.
I have to respectfully disagree with you on that. As a huge fan of Final Fantasy VII myself, it being the first FF game I ever played many years ago, I actually think the remake's combat is really impressive and smooth to play. It manages to retain the classic combat elements while also giving it a modern twist for everyone to enjoy. If they had stuck to the original combat, sure, a good number of people would have liked it, especially the OG fans. But I don't think it would have gained such a massive fanbase as it currently has. Plus, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is shaping up to be a strong contender for Game of the Year. So, in my opinion, keeping the original combat and not making any changes would have actually ruined the game. We're already in 2024, and while turn-based combat is fun, all the Final Fantasy games are moving towards a more RPG-style open world hack and slash, which is both enjoyable and engaging. Personally, I can't imagine playing the remake and its rebirth version with all the improvements, only to have the combat switch to turn-based. It just wouldn't feel right.
