Tune in for a shocking update to our previous inspection of a NSW home construction. In our initial inspection, we highlighted severe non-compliant issues that were discovered during an intensive 6-hour investigation. Our findings were so alarming that they prompted the homeowners to involve NSW Fair Trading.
In this latest episode, we reveal the consequences of the builder's negligence. The certifier involved with this job has been suspended for six years! What's more, the house is already experiencing leaks, and the owner hasn't even moved in yet!
What You'll Discover:
👉NSW Fair Trading's response to our initial findings
👉The repercussions for the certifier involved in the project
👉The ongoing problems the homeowner is facing - leaks before move-in!
👉The importance of due diligence in choosing a builder and certifier
Join us for an eye-opening journey into the consequences of substandard construction.

    • @@superthevibe Sure is. I've been told he knows his stuff, he's just lazy. He probably turns up to inspections in a nice pair of shoes and neatly pressed trousers. Certainly not the clothes you'd wear to get up and down ladders and crawl around under floors. A lazy certifier allows everybody to take it easy, including designers and architects. The building industry can be very incestuous, designers like working with certain builders, builders like working with certain sub-contractors, etc. It allows for a level of familiarity and routine, but this can often lead to complacency and then downright laziness. This guy survived so long because there were plenty of designers and builders who liked working with him. He made their job easier.

    • While that may be true, being over run with work is no excuse for cutting corners and taking shortcuts with a "she'll be right " attitude The inspectors should be delaying inspections and forcing the government to employ more of them. Its not like work is going to drop off any time soon. Especially when the largest financial investment people will ever make is involved, we are talking close to a million if not more for most houses now days. The government also should step in and make these certifiers maintain their qualifications and have some sort of competency assurance program. I work for an agency in NSW with the government that has hundreds of thousands of people's lives in my hands every day and I have to pass competency testing every 2 years. these guys potentially ruin lives with shonky practices. That said the sh*t flows downhill to the builder who if they did their damn job properly the certifier would not have such a hard time and not try to cut corners.

  • Wish you were around when I was building with Porter Davis in 18/19! I picked up on more defects than the inspection company I used. And I’m sure there was plenty more missed as I’m not a building professional. I can’t wait till there’s a royal commission into the building industry - I’d love to give evidence of the crap I went through to get my home built.

  • First time I've seen your video, subscribed straight away. The work you do is invaluable to the home owners as they're probably paying through the nose to get their house built. So many builders are taking on too much work and the cost of materials is sky rocketing so short cuts are being taken to reduce their own costs and the workmanship isn't there any more. Had a house built in Sydney in 2010 took six months to build. Just had a house built in country NSW and it took 12 months to build a smaller house at twice the price of the first house. Every time we heard about a builder going broke we were worried that it was ours again, as we went through four builders going under on us and losing thousands in deposits and having to start again. That took six years before we moved into our new home in August this year. Would I ever build a new home again? NO F#$×!ING WAY.
