Bungee jump 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
As someone who has owned a m1 garand for over 20 years and was actually the first gun I ever bought, I have to say I have never seen one jam so many times. Lol. I think gun companies need to send you firearms to test out to see how prone they are to jamming. Because you sir, seem to have a special touch for jamming guns
Yeah, this Garand needed to be destroyed, for jamming that much.
I feel the same way. Mine has always run like a top. You do have to manhandle it a bit sometimes, but it's always been solid.
Yeah something was definitely not right there, my first guess would be spring or operating or rod. I'm very conflicted about seeing this iconic rifle destroyed this way
mine runs better than his and i know mine needs work.
You just got jammed 🩰
My heart broke when a perfectly good Garand was destroyed.
It wasn't perfectly good, evidenced by how many times it jammed.
Things that are easily fixed I believe. After that perfectly good M1. Non produced items should be preserved. @@DansilSchroeder

Mine did also.
I was waiting for it. I was expecting it. It still made me jump. 🤣 Perfectly placed.

Ukr! Same here too😂
That put the heart crossways in me...
I cackle like a complete idiot 😹😹😹
This brought back the memories of having a Garand blow up while I was firing it. Not quite as spectacular as yours but with similar result. It froze the brass case in the chamber, vented through the case head and cracked both locking lugs. Gas blew out the floorplate and ruptured the stock similarly to yours. Injury was a cauterized burn to the the left wrist. It was January, so winter clothing shielded some.
What a waist of a beautiful iconic rifle from our military history! Next time box it up and send it to me I'll take care of it for you in my gun safe! I will be sure nothing happens to it!
This is what happens when people say the advice not to put ammo heavier than 150 grains into an M1 without an aftermarket gas screw is "Fuddlore". They wind up with shrapnel in the face and destroying a collectible gun.
What should I do with the crane next? 😂 I hope you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching!

I am so glad that Scott can make jokes about what happened. And the fact that he is still okay around firearms. I personally probably would have been scarred for life, so good on you, Scott!
Yeah I've only fired a couple guns in my life and I would be deathly afraid after that.
when i was younger, my family had a shotgun that had a hammer on it. didnt actually do it anything, it was there just cause....... reasons? but anyway! when i was young, i wanted to shoot it and decided, being a young genius, put it underneath my armpit instead of my shoulder. im sure you can tell where this is going.......... so i got told my brother i shouldn't hold it like that, i said im fine, he went oooookay and let me hold it like that(siblings, AMIRIGHT!!!!!!). so i shot that thing, while looking down the barrel, ish. well it, naturally shot back, the hammer went strait into my nose, almost cutting the tip off. didnt get stitches or anything, my nose is strait, but i do have a mark there!!!!! for years, i couldnt shoot a gun for very long, i would get physically sick if i shot like 6 bullets and have to stop. i eventually got over that, but i wouldnt even touch a shotgun. finally shot a shotgun again like 6 or so years ago, was shaking a bit, not from the kickback, but was just having a physical reaction to holding a shotgun in my hands and shooting it. now im all good! took me a bit to get over that injury, was rough lol.
Well i mean he is also scarred for life just not in the mental way 😂😂

Last part of the video doesn't even have any guns!! 😆😆😝
What’s absolutely surprising to me is that the most failure prone part of the garand with high pressure, the operating rod, survived mostly. At least didn’t fail in the normal high pressure way. All due to the bolt giving before the bullet reached the gas port
But what about the split muzzle?
I had the pleasure of qualifying with the M1 ,M14,and M16 , 45 cal. And using them and a few others weapons in combat during my 3 tours in Vietnam

I know Matt did a bunch of stress tests on the high point pistols, but I would love to see what happens if it's loaded with a high pressure bullet, because I don't think that was something he tested on them. 😂
Look up IV8888's test on Hi Points, he did the best ones including a way overpressured round with a bolt beat into the muzzle. It still didn't explode, just launched the bolt out. They had to put an overpressure round, bolt in the muzzle, and C clamp the whole thing shut to get it to blow. I think they filled the barrel w/ gunpowder too but I may be wrong.

iv8888 didnt use anfo or HE to spike the charge. Not sure if they tried a faster powder, which usually is enough. When I was on the Langley AFB/HQ TAC Honor Guard in the '80s, we carried Garands for gun salutes at funerals. It pains me to see such a beautiful rifle meet such a violent end. However, it's also important to understand what can happen if we don't treat our weapons properly.
Putting a bullet with like 5x the amount of force than the bullet you're supposed to use has nothing to do with treating a weapon properly.
@@Yuck412 When a weapon gets sufficiently worn and badly maintained a normal round can cause this kind of effect. But putting that much wear and tear on the gun for these tests isn't reasonable so an overloaded round is a good stand in.
