The polar wolf (Latin Canis lupus tundrarum) is a light-colored subspecies of the wolf. It lives throughout the Arctic and in the tundra, with the exception of sea ice and large areas covered with ice.
The polar wolf lives in the vast expanses of the polar regions, in winter in the conditions of the polar night. To survive, the wolf has adapted to eat any food that comes across. He is well adapted to life in the Arctic: he can live for years at subzero temperatures, not see sunlight for months and stay without food for weeks.

The largest group of animals living in these parts are lemmings and polar hares. However, in order to survive, a pack of wolves sometimes needs larger prey. Such can be musk ox and reindeer. In search of food, a wolf pack can bypass areas of up to 2000 km2. The areas of wolf populations are subject to seasonal changes associated with the migration of species that are objects of hunting.
