  • I’d recommend minoxidil for those struggling growing facial hair 100%. I used Kirkland Minoxidil 5% for a year and I now have a full beard. That along with a derma roller and a nice facial scrub to wash the area where you apply minoxidil because your skin can get very dry. So steps I’d recommend: 1. Start out by washing face properly, specifically the area you want hair. 2. Use a derma roller on the area. Apply rubbing alocohol on derma roller before derma rolling on face just to disinfect it and be safe. Derma rolling helps open up those closed pores. When you derma roll, you wanna go over the facial area many times. Maybe like 10 times. Press as deep as you can. It’ll hurt a little but you’ll be ok. 3. Next apply minoxidil in the area. 4. Let your skin absorb the minoxidil for at least 4 hours before washing. You may feel a slight burning sensation but it is normal. 5. Apply minoxidil twice a day. One time in morning and one time at evening. Don’t over do it. 2 times a day is more than enough. Anything more is not recommended. 6. You will notice the area will be very dry. After 4 hours have passed, use the facial wash to help remove the dead skin. I recommend using “acure facial scrub” from Amazon. This scrub has a sandy feel to it so you may think of it like rubbing sand on your face. But this really helps remove the dead skin. I also recommend doing this before applying the minoxidil so that way your dead skin isn’t in the way and preventing your new skin from absorbing the minoxidil properly. 7. Apply lotion whenever your done with the minoxidil process. This helps keep your face looking moisturized. Your facial area will be very dry, especially if you live in a cold area or in winter time. 8. Do this every day for a month and you will notice results. But make sure to not stop applying as it can hinder the process and set you back. You need to keep repeating until you new hairs go from vellus to terminal. This is thin baby hair to full thick grown hair. Once your hairs are terminal you can finally stop applying minoxidil and enjoy your new beard normally. 9. Combining this with exercising and a healthy diet, and maybe finding ways to boost your testosterone may help you get results quicker but it is not needed. You will notice results with minoxidil alone. That’s pretty much all you need to do. Hope this helps anyone struggling with facial hair.

  • I couldn't grow a decent beard until my early 40s... and about 10 years later, discovered I had inherited early gray from one of my grandfathers who was silver in his early 50s. Instant Geezer! I don't mind much - I can work on that silver fox stuff... 😁

  • Now my current situation is that I’m 16 (nearly 17) and I am hairy as a caveman haha. Literally my whole legs, chest and arms up to the shoulders. My question is what is the appropriate age to start having a beard because after not shawing for 1 and a half weeks in the break I had full blown sideburns/chops, neckbeard and a starting moustache. Now I cut it but I don’t know when should I be keeping it. I liked it tbh

  • Can't or don't want to grow a beard? Get into double edge (DE) safety razors and start enjoying shaving! lol Accidentally stumbled on it when I went on Amazon for a refill of my Gillette cartriges, looked into it and tried it out. Got good shave soap, a nice brush and a nice looking razor and for the first time in my life shaving is not a chore I try to avoid and is something that is a nice thing to do. I thought I would save money too since the blades are so cheap but got into "collecting" the razors, so not so much saving this year lol. Some cool brands like Blackland, Rex, Henson and others are making some nice razors which is part of the fun.

  • I can't grow a beard at all. Not sparse, not spotty... no, not at all. I get tiny hairs above my mouth but that's all. I'm 33 and it's the same for all the men in my family. On the other hand we look rather young. People often mistake me for 5 - 8 years younger. I have colleagues 10 years younger than me that thought I was their age until I told them.

  • After coming to terms with my genetics, I have accepted that the most I can grow (At this age currently) is a chin goatee and a moustache. I just wish the two would connect and actually make a full goatee instead of having two large/long patches of facial hair on my face. I settle with shaving the moustache and keeping the chin goatee.
