The team behind Planetary Annihilation, which has sold over 3 millions units and is still beloved and played by fans almost a decade later, is back with a new twist on the popular franchise.
Industrial Annihilation is available for pre-order or for investment on the StartEngine investment platform! You can invest in the company behind the game today to become a shareholder and partake in Industrial Annihilation’s potential galactic success.
You better not try and sell us Industrial Annihilation: TITANS for the same price shortly after releasing this 💀
I'll buy the shit out of it if they do, haha. And the Titans Pass for $14.99 per month
I’m glad someone still remembers that nonsense.
@@OneBiasedOpinion Yea TITANS release was when I completely dropped PA. I was a big fan before.
Good thing we have Beyond All Reason now 😉
@@jhash2625 BAR _does_ look good.
Planetary Annihilation and Titans were the shit, I'm ready for a new game. Feels like this takes notes from Dyson Sphere Program, which already felt like Planetary Annihilation. Full circle.
dyson sphere program is such a masterpiece of dev team that never stop working, any other video game developper should take note from it
Nous allons avoir besoin de toi pour faire la pub du jeu !
Let me correct you. PA and Titans were SHIT.
absolutely inspired by dyson sphere, and by extention ofcource its predecessors factorio and satisfactory. and im here for it.
@@cybercobra2 I am certain this game was already worked on, at least conceptually, before DSP ever came out. It doesn't take a lot of imagination to look at what Factorio did and think "It would be cool to have a classic RTS with factorio mechanics". Also, Planetary Annihilation as a game already existed before DSP was even a thing. And as far as we can tell, this is literally Planetary Annihilation + Factorio. So not sure where you're seeing DSP inspiration?
Putting the "industrial" into "military industrial complex".
This has me hyped like few other game announcements have. Integrating factory-building into the already existing RTS basis adds another level of planning, complexity, and thus excitement and reward; it's genius. Mildly unexpected but very welcome
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
They got tired of ruining ksp2 lmao
yeah, matches spanning for 20 hours are sure to be amazing!
@@DartNoobo haha fr can’t wait, gon be Like a paradox interaktive game fr
Competitive Factory Building!!
I love Supreme Commander and Factorio - I always wanted to build factory which can support military effort. This is perfect, can't tell you guys how much Im looking forward to this!
Well, yeah. Same here. Actually I think this may be a common sentiment. Common enough that hype and early money can mislead this effort. 30€ out of the gate gives me pause though. The two most notable games of the factory genre, factorio and satisfactory, have not done it like that. I see what it is supposed to look like, but the website provides little information about the product or the developers. Show me 7 people who have developed similar successful games, and have them tell me what they like about those games. And tell me what you are going for: what scale, what will multiplayer look like, will the game be adaptable to different interests? how about modding?
First thing coming to mind when seeing the units was supreme commander. Such an incredible game back then, and even now is an amazing game
SCFA+Factorio+Planetary Annihilation+The Riftbreaker(DLC Metal Terror)
this comment made me so happy I can't even express it. My love for Factorio and SupCom all in one.
Mindustry
I remember thinking you could combine a factory game with an RTS, and so it is amazing to see someone else had a similar idea. I can't think of anyone better suited for making this into a reality.
That was also done by Mindustry, actually
@@errorstringexpectedgotnil Glad to see mindustry in the chat
i always wanted such a game too
Just watch 'Dyson Sphere Program', currently in early access. They are going to release a battle mode in december. They started as a factory builder, now turning into FB/RTS.
@@bakkerem1967 oh? interesting.. so far dyson sphere didnt take off for me..
Didn't expect to see a sequel but I'm definitly here for it!
I loved planetary annihilation! I wasn't expecting a sequel at all, but I'm glad there was an announcement!
Oh wait its from them i likedthat game
planetary annihilation itself is a sequel to Total Annihilation
I played PA with a friend of mine a lot back in the day. Since then it's been the sort of game I would come back to every now and then to play on my own, particularly since my friend hasn't had a gaming rig in years. I've also gotten into Factory building games like Satisfactory and Dyson Sphere Program, the latter of which I was silently thinking to myself "I hope there will be some RTS elements like Planetary Annihilation when the combat update comes out." NOW my friend has recently gotten himself a new rig, I've gotten myself back into PA (casually), and then I see THIS on my Steam news feed. My jaw hit the floor so fucking hard my girlfriend was genuinely concerned something was wrong. NOPE! Seems the stars have aligned such that this trailer kicked me in the eyeballs harder than it probably would have normally. Consider Industrial Annihilation officially on my radar!
Biggest problem with PA Titans was always the performance and heavy netcode. In 4v4 the game would run at 0.1x speed by late-game while requiring massive upload/download speeds, which contributed to low player population. BAR doesn't have this problem and you can play 8v8 all day with an old PC and slow Internet connection, plus an order of magnitude more units on screen.
But bar is a rip off of zero k Same game but less fun
yeah man no shit you have to load in and constantly update everything which on a single map is already hard enough but in this game you had multiple ones as well
@@nikitosha1000 You do know zero ripped of supreme commander right? Also the devs working n BAR are a lot of the same ones that worked on supreme commander, if anything they are the ones who have the most "right" to this type of game
@@zeddddd2846 naaaaah They are made on the same engine, include the same mechanics, even sometimes same units/models. Bar is more like a mod, not a standalone game. And even less fun, cause they didn't include the silly stuff like pushing turrets and terraformation
PA need to updatev every unit on 3D planets not like other RTS only on one singel 2D map to update an 3D map of multiple moving maps include space moving needs alot more data to hold synchronized end ob in upload download alot more
I played total annihilation a lot. i played total annihilation kingdoms... a bit... i played supreme commander A LOT. i find Forged Alliance to be the best RTS ever made. I did not give planetary annihilation the time it deserves it seems. I am excited to see where things go from here. You have my support. A lot of RTS games want to get into micromanaging things and i just like huge armies blowing each other up on massive maps.
try beyond all reason. it's a free open source game that takes the old total annihilation into modernity. it#s really awesome although it's kinda complex to learn
I wonder if there is gonna be multiple co-op modes: One is controlling the economy and another is doing the combat or They can build up their own bases and they could just choose if they want to do that or not
First game had coop so I figure this game will also have it
It may, but the web page says the campaign will be single player, so, I don't know if coop control of the same team will happen because that could have been used in the campaign if it existed.
At least since Factorio came out, people have been dreaming about an RTS with automation logistics. It's so cool that you guys are doing it!
Planetary Annihlation was one of my favorite games, especially when I was limited to a shitty laptop and a horrible internet connection. Being able to fight what felt like advanced AI and literally destroy entire planets was the best feeling a 10 year old in that situation could have. Even though I haven't played it in a while since I lost interest, I'm still so excited to play this. See you on the battlefield, commanders.
Glad to see devs brave enough to combine the new factory genre with RTS. Don’t think crowd funding is the way to go but I’ll pick it up if its steam early access has a good foundation.
Dyson Sphere Program.... its not new
Is not a RTS, even if they plan to add more combat soon the current stages seem more likely to just be a factory with tower defense, while this looks like it can be some true RTS@@bradbuchmiller1858
@@bradbuchmiller1858 Dyson Sphere Program isn't a military RTS though
@@bradbuchmiller1858 DSP appears to largely be a factory game, but not an RTS at all. The Annihilation franchise has been all about RTS. So, this does appear to be something quite new, as a major mixing of the two genres.
@@bradbuchmiller1858DSP is a factory game with no RTS elements. Even the dark fog isn’t RTS just tower defense+. Also it doesn’t have multiplayer. People saying this idea is just DSP are willfully ignorant.
By the golden throne and the most holiest Emperor upon it... This Looks awesome
Ayoo, I'm up for 3D Mindustry.
Prefix: I love PA, it is one of my favorite games ever. Planetary annihilation is already hard enough to manage as is. now having to deal with belts, multiple resources, overflow, etc. If there are too many resources, the overflow and efficiency will be a fucking nightmare to manage, if different units need different resources, pivoting to counter enemy compositions will be a nightmare. if there are still only 2 resources (this is pre-alpha footage, colors could mean nothing and seem to have no meaning in the trailer.) what was the point of the belts. This will certainly be quite the balancing act that the developers will have to pull off expertly. If they do, kudos to them, but I'll believe it when I see it. PA is a masterpiece of a game that was ahead of its time, nobody could run it on their hardware, hopefully, we don't have a repeat.
You're looking at this wrong. From everything that I've seen and read about the game on the website, this is not going to really be a sequel to PA, despite them calling it that. Sequel implies a similar game, but better and with more stuff. IA is not going to be the same multiplayer focused PVP RTS game. They are trying to blend the classic RTS gameplay of PA with "deep factory-building". There is also no note of multiplayer anywhere so it's safe to assume this is going to be a largely single player game, maybe with co-op. This will be a VASTLY different video game, expect something more like Factorio or DSP, but with added RTS-like combat. But still focused on factory building. So, don't look at this like it's PA 2, because it won't be. This will be a much more complicated and complex game for different kind of people. I trust you know what Factorio is, but if you don't, look that game up to see what they are trying to make here.
Oh cool a 3D mindustry I've been looking for another logistics rts
This looks really interesting, i always knew i need more supcom in my factorio and vise versa.
Can't wait to see Legion ported to this
I am intrigued. I think I want to keep an eye on this!
Well I wasn't expecting this!
Grew up playing Total Annihilation and backed the Kickstarter and played the hell out of Planetary Annihilation. Can't wait to play this! Probably my favorite dev team out there.
Check out BAR beyond all reason its free and made for and by TA fans
got it, riftbreaker + PA. i'll buy if the campaign is longer than riftbreaker's, or if there's a random generator with actual objectives
Uhmmm.... YES.... ABSOLUTELY YES!!! 😻
This looks like a massive step up from PA. Factions and faction identity, PVE focus? Nice!
so thats what youve been working on. looks dope, count me in!
This feels like my time. All these insanely cool sci-fi games coming out. I love the idea that you can probably get really good as a player at making optimal factories, too.
what other cool sci fi games are you referring to sir
When a Daddy Planetary Annihilation and a Mommy Factorio love each other very much...
Mindustry!!!!!!!
This is very exciting! Looking forward to more information in the future
Oh nice. Finally my idea of more rts like factorio exists out there. Thought I was crazy that nobody else saw that as a concept.
I helped mod what became factorio PvP. I am so hyped for this! finally someone is running with this concept.
I get a very “90’s BBC2 Robot Wars” vibe from the logo reveal at the end.
Wooooooahhhh Stylax ! Mélangé les deux concepts pourrait donner des matchs aux profondeurs de malade !
Mindustry
I'm so excited about this announcement!
Ah yes my favorite game,mindustry
**tips fedora**
Well, I'll wait for "Industrial Annihilation Titans"
Would love to get my hands on this :D
I dont know why, but seeing that commander robot running as soon as the techno music drops, its funny as hell 🤣
Damn! I didn't expect to see game like that! I have a good feeling about this :D
Oh neat I always wanted a RTS with factorio style resource management I'm curious how this will turn out.
Mindustry
This gives me huge Supreme Commander vibes and i LOVE it for it
Factorio + Planetary Annihilation 👏👍
This seems like Dyson sphere program, meets Factorio, meets PA Titans
YES
this is an amazing addition to the rts element
Were they messing with us with that POV vehicle camera thing? Almost thought you could control the driving on that unit manually!
I'm going to try to invest in this. It looks amazing!🙂
Planetary annihilation was a complete meme of a game that barely even held a candle to it's direct inspiration from 1997 outside of the sheer spectacle so I think i'm justified in being very wary of this ever actually being good
This hits right where I live so far, we'll see how well it holds up down the line of course. I love my RTS's and REALLY enjoyed a lot of aspects about planetary annihilation Titans. Factorio is my go to and #1 for factory games (it's the best), but I've also played Satisfactory and Dyson sphere among others that are less notable. So I've been around both to a rather large degree. I'm not sure about the game from all aspects but am really looking forwards to it!
The only time I've been genuinely excited for a game trailer, if this game works the way I think it will it will be so hard to learn but I am so down for that.
Good luck with that. Beyond All Reason has been taking notes for a decade.
This looks really good, nice to see you guys were busy.
Hell yeah, more Annihilation. I was never a very good strategy player, but I loved all the building, and this seems to focus more on that.
With any luck, this keeps the shared coop from Planetary Annihilation where you both have full control over everything in your shared army, which will allow a factory player and an rts player to team up and go all out
will this be smaller scale or the same scale or one planet or several?
... i feel it might be ... all of it ...
Winning in PA was already more than half about building the economy and production. Interesting to see how it'll be when the game focuses more on the production side - even leaving the fighting to an AI, as mentioned on the website.
🔥
Looks Dope !!! Total Annihilation was my Jam
Does anyone know if this is gonna be multiplayer? Like the previous games
Does this have planned multiplayer or is it a singleplayer focus?
yes
The Music at 0:29 , is this just for the trailer or is it a whole song?
Holy shit. We're so back. Planetary Annihilation was awesome, I hope this features a similar level of scale!
What will be chaos and machina and what playstyle you are going to give them?
looks like good idea. are you planning to go for PVE or PVP?
two of my favorite games are combined now. happy happy happy
my main concern: do you build those factories in every game? looks quite micro heavy game then.. or can you use blueprints? then when you use the most effecient blueprints the whole factory building element is pointless.. sorry for my english
Been with you since kickstarter on Planetary Annihilation, hoping this one is good
will it still have the planetary aspects of the original?
An RTS that uses logistics is what I've been waiting for. Can't wait to play this.
MINDUSTRY
Put like if you are waiting the game
Can't wait for a match to go south because that one stray unit breaks that one belt section.
i hope there will be a mode without or with minimal factory focus
Planetary annihilation is a thing, and so is TA. If the factory part isn't to your liking then just... don't play it? PA looks functionally the same to this and it doesn't have any of the factory focus other than unit production so...
We will see
Until this releases, y'all might want to check out Beyond all reason. It's a spiritual successor to the Annihilation games and it's free to play! It's really fun.
Given that this is an obvious nod to TA, it would be very interesting (and quite literally a standout feature) to have true orchestral symphonies in there, like in the OG TA. I don't know how expensive it would be to have a composer compose + rent an orchestra for a few afternoons of recording, but if feasible (and I mean, Cavedog managed to have Jeremy Soule do it, and they were a quite small dev studio) it would be Amazing, and yet another possible selling and/or marketing point.
You should look at game called Beyond All Reason if you like TA.
Factorio x Command and Conquor actually sounds fun as hell with planetary devestastion mechanics
Mindustry
Damn. So glad Annihilation series isn't dead. Glad to see you guys working on new huge things
Well this seems interesting, I look forward to the steam page appearing
I'm so ready.
I like the Idea of mashing Factory Building and RTS. Best of luck to you guys!
Mindustry
LET'S GOOOOOO
We need a Steam page so we can wishlist!
I remember trying to to play Total Annihalation and just failing to understand anything. Let's hope this goes better.
Yum, makes me wanna go play total annihilation right now
That's a great combinations of genres
- Commander, we have destroyed all the planets. What should we do now? - Build industry. I always wanted to build factories in PA, to see how metal monstrocities of factories grow under my control. Now I have the chance. I hope they didn't scraped the planets.
Dont forget the unfulfilled promises we got, when planetary annihilation was on Kickstarter. The game released into a huge mess and only become good in years after. They have a history of creating huge hype and then not delivering.
Not to mention charging twice for features meant to be in the base game by making a whole new game
Factorio and RTS. RTS is basically a factory sim without the finer logistics, so now it's full circle. PA is a good platform for it with the destructible planets and layers of battlefields on land, sea, air, and space. Just don't repeat the bad business practices of your past and/or predecessors - namely Uber Games. Some of us still remember.
It's been a long road since Total Annihilation 🥲
RAHHHH new planetary annhilation game would go absolutely crazy I'm so ready for this
Path Tracing ? DirectX12 ? FSR 3.0 ? Directstorage ? 8K Texture ?
Looks fantastic. Can't wait to play it.
The certs on your website say they are invalid.
YOOOOOO
Unable to wishlist on Steam but EA is apparently soon - Q2 2024?
Wow this was quite a nice surprise! Loved Planetary Annihilation, love factory building games so very curious how such a combination will play out!
Wow this looks complicated to play, but it seems promising ! Can't wait to play it !
Hell YES!!!
I always thought Dyson Sphere Program should've had PA combat
