Veterinary neurology is amazing! Over a period of a month or so, our pug lost the ability to use his back legs. We checked everything medically and did X-rays and our regular vet couldn’t fix it. She referred us to a vet neurologist, we got him an MRI, and they determined he had a herniated disc in his spine. He was only 8 years old, so we opted for surgery. The surgeon went in through his neck and removed the part of the disc that was squished out and causing 50% compression of his spinal cord. He could walk again almost immediately! He lived another 3 1/2 years!! Yes, it was expensive, but he was worth it for us to give him more years of quality life. He was the happiest and funniest pug ever!

I wish we had this kind of veterinary infrastructure in India. Most of our veterinary hospitals are so shabby with very few diagnostic machines and so many vets misdiagnose leading to loss of trust in vets. And lot of people in our country become cheapstakes when it comes to their pet and would experiment with their lives rather than pay a vet.

It doesn't matter. If it was a human child or spouse you wouldn't think of asking that. You have never loved an animal. She said she would stop at nothing to get him better. She is a wonderful pet parent.
@Lindy S not everyone feels that way.and ma'am you don't know if she has every loved an animal. Get over yourself. She asked a question she didn't tell you to tell her what she has done in life because you wouldn't know.oh and animals are nothing compared to human children. I have three and I would plug an animal if was aggressive towards my kids. If there is a fire my kids come first if getting the pet would get my kids killed by by animal. Not Sorry to say.
Up to 10 grand in some places. I had a kitten and for over night stay at the hospital was 1000 just for stay not even then extra stuff.
