  • At this point I start to believe, that the only reason you guys havent done Dune 2 react yet, is that you are waiting for Dany Villeneuv himself to get comfortable on the couch.

  • I was lucky enough to crew on The Fall Guy for all 5 months of the shoot and I can say that Logan (Ryan's stunt driver double) was one of the loveliest guys on set. He was cool enough to chat with me quite a few times, mostly about the differences in traffic between Sydney and LA, then about what it's like to prepare for a stunt where you drive a car across a huge ravine with no safety net. As the shoot was wrapping up he managed to give me a stunt department shirt which I wear all the time. A lot of cool people worked on this movie.

  • One of the few series on KZhead where react content turns into something truly original.

    @advikshan@advikshan20 күн бұрын
    • KZhead started recommending other "react content" when I kept clicking on this series, and I've had to hit "Not Interested" on them all like a thousand times for the Algorithm to finally catch a hint that these are not at all the same.

    • That's because it's not react content, it's an interview. React content begins and ends when the thing they're reacting to ends, with no actual engagement with the material beyond fleeting thoughts.

    @epr8974@epr897420 күн бұрын
    • The Matrix wasn't green lit because of Keanu and the other actors in consideration might've done a good enough job for the movie to still be a hit. It's not like it was riding on great acting for it's success. Leitch and the stunt team were already on a path of training actors to do their own fight scenes. Keanu is great, but the credit for both of those movies should go to the Watchowskis and Leitch

  • They could have not had a better director than David Leitch honestly, like a Stuntman turned movie director making a movie and telling a story about a man who does Stunts for a living, and all the things they go through but are rarely seen. It's a really great movie and was actually kinda moving in a way seeing how much love and appreciation the movie has for the stunt community.

  • David leitch is such a good director. Whilst his movies arent exactly oscar worthy (until theres a stunts category), they find such a good line between comedy and action that rarely disappoints. His journey to being a director is so interesting. Thanks for having him on

    @dionsmith2405@dionsmith240520 күн бұрын
    • Tbh, I think his movies (apart from "Hobbs and Shaw", which I didn't like very much) very much are Oscar-worthy, when it comes to camera work, editing and sound design. Plus, he is like a modern day Richard Donner, with his excellent sense of pacing and his ability to blend extreme comedy with action. I want him to direct the upcoming movie about Nina Wilde and Eddie Chase. If you've read the books, you'll know why. Also, if you want to see how everything started, watch Sammo Hung's "Martial Law" - David Leitch's career started there. His character was very funny.

  • A Fun Fact about Ringo Lam: he directed a movie called "City on Fire" starring Chow Yun Fat. Quentin Tarantino totally ripped it off when he made "Reservoir Dogs" and then pretended like he hadn't seen the movie. Ringo Lam said he was honored that someone ripped him off because, in Asia, it's considered a compliment to steal someone else's work.

    @HarryBuddhaPalm@HarryBuddhaPalm20 күн бұрын

      @lucas8913@lucas891320 күн бұрын
    • "Totally ripped it off" No, he didn't. The films have a vaguely similar premise and that's where the similarities end. If you were to watch the movies back to back you wouldn't feel like Reservoir Dogs "totally ripped it off" because they have totally different tones and feels.

      @RSpracticalshooting@RSpracticalshooting20 күн бұрын
    • @@RSpracticalshooting look you don't need to suck off QT in youtube comments. He ripped it off. The story is pretty much identical, he just reordered scenes and changed some details, but the plot beats and characters are all pretty much there. I love QT and his movies, but he still copied it. And like OP said, in HK films, ripping off another film/director was like standard practice throughout the 60s-90s and led to some amazing gems. Hell, Ringo himself copied Point Blank to make Full Contact, which is arguably his best movie (to me at least).

      @jacoballison8237@jacoballison823719 күн бұрын
    • @jacoballison8237 Taking inspiration from something and ripping something off are two different things. You make it sound like Tarantino watched City On Fire and said "I'm gonna remake this movie" rather than just going "well those are some cool ideas" and writing his own movie. Again, watch them back to back. You won't be able to honestly say Reservoir Dogs is the same movie.

Her house y did NOT like the helicopter being moved around on the crane during the lesson. The staff at the stables said they'd been really struggling to keep the horses from spooking the evening before due to some mini-explosions in something that was being filmed, but they all came out of it okay in the end. My daughter has been pretty curious about the movie since then so we'll probably check it out this weekend.

  • Fall Guy was freakin' amazing. I hope we can get David back on the couch post-cinema and talk about some of the other stunts. The extended Miami Vice boat sequence was such an awesome take on an old school show & stunt style! And the little setups throughout the movie for stunts that are about to follow are genius for showing how the mind of a stuntman works.

  • The ONLY issue I had with The Fall Guy is that I thought the credits would start with all the stunt team after how much they were highlighted throughout the film. Otherwise thoroughly entertaining and I appreciated the movie so much more having watched all these Stuntmen React videos throughout the years. Thanks for the behind the scenes!

  • Man, it's just a bummer that this incredible work is being done during a time when "cartoonish" is still the standard for the finished product. The behind-the-scenes footage looks SO impressive and kinetic, yet what actually ends up in the final cut looks painstakingly CGed, even though it wasn't.. even if it just had a few sparks added and wires removed, a little colouring .. for me, at least, all that doctoring in post to make a movie look like it "should" these days, ends up draining the scenes of energy and impact. There's so much hard work & talent & creativity & risk & reward that goes into this kind of action, and, like they said, especially the comedic / slapstick action. So much respect for all the hard work and determination of the actors and stunt people who put in the hours to come up with these choreographies and physical challenges for the sake of putting on a good show. So I hope we get to see the trend of what's expected swing back the other way, closer to the old Jackie Chan / Keaton / Chaplin films, where the final cut gets to look more like recorded action and less like a cartoon world with the people and their punches photoshopped on top in post.

  • Fall Guy is probably one of the best movies I’ve seen in 5-10 years at least. It’s seemingly 75% real in the sense of stunts. Then the whole story itself then the acting on top of it. Then the whole it being a love letter to stunt performers and the history of all that. Love to see it and I want them to make bank on this movie promote the idea that a stunt man can be a director too. Or just because they don’t have the “qualifications” doesn’t mean they don’t know what they’re doing or can’t have good ideas.

He mis-judged the third jump or so, SLIGHTLY caught the car and went down on his back/neck. The cameras IMMEDIATELY cut away. He was paralyzed by that accident. If you want more info look up "Samuel Koch"

They mean so freaking much to me, John Wick series of course is incredible.. but Nobody was the first movie in a long time that I watched 5 times in a couple months, it just had that staying power where it didn't get old.
